XVII – Week 11 Recap

Rapids Plungers (143.92) vs Pack Attack (120.89)

This was a big win for Rapids Plungers as they held on to their #6 spot with now two weeks remaining. Their stars came out and played like stars this week as D. Watson (32.28) and T. Hill (26.97) led the way! A lot can happen for this team in the final two weeks. They could end up with a first round bye OR they could miss the playoffs entirely. The good news is that they have been scoring well most of the season and would likely hold the tie-breakers against some of their closest competitors for that final playoff spot. This team has been here before and I am sure they are treating these next two weeks as if they are playoff games. The defending champs are hanging around and if you let them in the playoffs… watch out! I think this is a team that has been inconsistent but if they find that consistency that they had from weeks 3-7 starting now and into the playoffs they will be a tough out! For Pack Attack this loss ensured them of having their worst season ever! I mean 2020 has been odd with all of the civil unrest, rigged elections and then of course a global pandemic that causes a mass shortage on toilet paper! I am not sure however that they compare to Pack Attack likely finishing in last place in the league! Now that is truly remarkable! So 2020… *sigh**.

teamAlaska (110.57) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (71.12)

I know that every game is huge at this time of year but for teamAlaska (7-4) they needed this one to stop their 3 game losing streak and now with two weeks remaining they still have everything out in front of them including that so important first round bye. It wasn’t necessarily a pretty win but when it comes to this time of year those top draft picks need to come through and R. Wilson (18.74) and more so K. Allen (32.25) did just that in bringing home the victory. 16hrs ahead of you with the loss falls to 5-6 on the season and this was a huge blow to their playoff chances. They are by no means out of it but given their lack of points scored they are not only going to have to win their next two games but they are going to have to score a lot of points along the way. It’s not out of the question but if I had a % chance of making the playoffs meter I think we would be somewhere in the 5% to 10% range. That’s not a lot but with two weeks remaining there is still a chance so if I were 16hrs I would take it and do whatever I can to win these next two games. Anything can happen!

Big Papa (153.62) vs DaUnderdog (85.69)

There are some things that I like to look for around this time of year and of course winning is important but it is also how are they winning. Is there a team getting hot at the right time? Was a team underperforming because of bye weeks and injuries? Big Papa (7-4) after this weeks performance is on my radar as one of those teams. They have continued to find ways to win and have themselves in a great position to get their second straight playoff berth with a dominating win over DaUnderdog (4-7). The question I have is simple, was this the start of something for Big Papa or merely a good game and then next week we will see them fall back to their traditional 100 or 110 point efforts which we have been accustomed to this season? The one reason why I may lean a bit towards the fact that this may be a team building some momentum heading into the playoffs is how they won this week. It wasn’t because of one player having a huge 40 point game but it was because they had 9 of their 11 starting positions score 12 or more points this week. They also had two players on their bench who scored over 13. They have a big game next week against teamAlaska so we will find out a lot about this team in the next two weeks. For DaUnderdog, this was a tough loss and all but ended their season. They are not officially eliminated yet but I don’t see anyway this team makes the playoffs. Better luck next year for DaUnderdog.

U Don’t Know (132.46) vs BIGBOY! (74.29)

This has been an odd year for U Don’t Know (8-3). They started out 6-0 and they at which they were winning really seemed like this was the top team in the league and it wasn’t very close. Then they go on to lose three of their next 4 games and suddenly the questions start coming. Was this team overachieving in the first 6 weeks? Are they in danger of missing out on the first round bye and / or the playoffs altogether? All those questions but here we are after 11 weeks and U Don’t Know is back in the the #1 overall spot in the league thanks to a big win over BIGBOY! (4-7) this week. U Don’t Know now controls their own destiny and it is simple. If they win their next two games they will guarantee themselves a first round bye and likely the #1 overall spot. BIGBOY! is done. Yes, I know they technically have not been eliminated but trust me.. they are done! This is now the second straight season having missed the playoffs after their back to back championship seasons! Better luck next year for BIGBOY!

pack slayer (140.54) vs Bossman (121.33)

Well pack slayer sure has made things interesting with two weeks remaining! Let’s go back to week 9 as pack slayer had just got steamrolled by 101.35 points to at the time a one win Sportsfreak team. It was at that time that I pretty much had counted this team out! Well, these last two weeks they have looked really good and have moved their record to 5-6 on the season and just a game out of the final playoff spot. What has been most impressive is how they are winning. They took down a 6 win PackerFANatic7 team and this week they outdueled one of the better teams in the league in Bossman (7-4). pack slayer will be going for win # 3 in a row next week against BIGBOY! which with a win it would setup a potential win and your in game against Rapids Plungers to close out the season. Bossman despite the loss is still in really good shape for the playoffs and still has a good chance at that first round bye. The thing I am sure they are thinking about in this one however is that had they won this game they would be sitting as the #1 overall seed! They do close out the season against Starrfavrrodg which very well could decide who gets a first round bye in the playoffs!

PackerFANatic7 (125.80) vs HHH (122.05)

What a game this one turned out to be! A game with HUGE playoff stakes, Father / son matchup and with the winner being tied for the final playoff spot. It was only fitting that this one came down to the last game and the last minutes of the game. HHH had R. Jones and the Rams D playing in Monday nights game and the Rams D almost pulled it off. There was a point in the game where the Rams hit Brady’s arm on a throw and it was sooo close to being a fumble vs a incomplete pass. Had it been ruled a fumble the Rams player had scooped it up and took it in for the TD. I can’t help but wonder if they had ruled it a fumble on the field would they have left it? If that would have happened we would be talking about HHH with the win. The other thing worth mentioning is that R. Jones did nothing for HHH. They only scored 1.60 points in Monday nights game which was certainly unexpected given his 28pt game from a week ago. Overall this was a tough loss for HHH. It was however equally a great win for PackerFANatic7 as they move to 6-5 on the season and they now find themselves tied for the final playoff spot with Rapids Plungers but are losing the tie based on points scored. In my opinion, the season for PackerFANatic7 is going to come down to next weeks game against Starrfavrerodg. They win that game and they then get DaUnderdog to close out the season. This was a big win but I am sure they have already started preparing for the biggest game of their season next week! It’s crazy how far HHH has fallen. They were 4-1 through the first five weeks of the season but since then they have gone 1-5! They still have a shot to get to 7 wins which doesn’t guarantee a playoff spot but it does give you a chance. Their playoffs start next week!

Sportsfreak (134.48) vs Starrfavrerodg (92.98)

I wrote last week how Starrfavrerodg (8-3) was the only team in the league who had yet to have a week of not scoring 100 points. Well, they have must have been feeling left out as that is now done and so is their time in the #1 overall spot in the league. Does one loss make me forget about how good they have been since week 1? No! Every team has an off week and for Starrfavrerodg it is good that they got it out of the way now before the playoffs come. This team still controls their own destiny for a first round bye and the #1 overall spot is clearly very much in play. At this point, I would look at this as more of a blip then something to be concerned about. For Sportsfreak (3-8), they get win #3 on the season and they did it against the top team in the league coming into this week. The “What if” game is a frustrating and depressing game to get into but if there is any team that could it would be Sportsfreak. I can’t even look at this roster and think.. “What if” so I am sure Craig Jr. the coach of Sportsfreak is doing the same. This is a good team with some bad luck and if I was a team in the playoff hunt I would be looking at my next two weeks schedule and make sure I am not playing this team!

That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!

XVII – Week 11 Preview

The final three weeks of the regular season and we have some playoff scenarios in play:

CLINCHED PLAYOFF SPOT – PLAYOFF SEEDING AT STAKE
NONE

PLAYOFF CLINCHING SCENARIOS
1. Starrfavrerodg – Clinches a playoff berth with a win OR losses by three of these four teams (Rapids Plungers, PackerFANatic7, HHH, 16hrs Ahead of You!)
2. Bossman – Clinches a playoff berth with a win AND losses by three of these four teams (Rapids Plungers, PackerFANatic7, HHH, 16hrs Ahead of You!)
3. U Don’t Know – Clinches a playoff berth with a win AND losses by three of these four teams (Rapids Plungers, PackerFANatic7, HHH, 16hrs Ahead of You!)

ELIMINATED FROM PLAYOFF CONTENTION
1. Pack Attack
2. Sportsfreak

Now that you know the playoff scenarios let’s get to the previews!

Rapids Plungers (5-5) vs Pack Attack (2-8)

Rapids Plungers is coming into this week needing a win as they have lost two of their last three games and those losses were against teams fighting with them for that final playoff spot. Thankfully for Rapids Plungers they get to go up against the last place team in Pack Attack! So this should be a easy win for them and allow them to get back on track and hang on to at a minimum the final playoff spot.

Prediction:
Check out the Yahoo predictions for this one!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 11
  • Record: Advantage Rapids Plungers at 8-3
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Rapids Plungers 130.63 vs 122.43

teamAlaska (6-4) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (5-5)

This is a HUGE game for both of these teams. teamAlaska is coming into this week really struggling as they have lost their last three games but it was last weeks loss to DaUnderdog who only scored 80 points! For a team that looked like possibly the best in the league three weeks ago that can’t happen! 16hrs on the other hand is coming off one of their biggest wins of the season and if they can find a way to get the W here things would get really, really interesting in the playoff race! This will be one of the top games I am keeping an eye on this week!

Prediction:
This 16hrs team looks so much better with N. Chubb in their lineup and I like C. Kirk against Seattle’s historically bad D but the rest of the matchups are tough. I think 16hrs keeps this thing close but I think teamAlaska can’t wait to get back on the field after last week’s embarrassing showing and I expect them to have a really good game. I am going with teamAlaska to get win #7 and put a huge damper on 16hrs playoff hopes.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 15
  • Record: Advantage teamAlaska at 9-6
  • PPG Avg: Advantage teamAlaska 115.62 to 105.89

Big Papa (6-4) vs DaUnderdog (4-6)

Big Papa despite lossing two of their last three games have everything out there in front of them with three weeks remaining. It is rare that an 8 win team doesn’t make the playoffs so that would mean realistically they just need to win two of their next three games. They will be the favorites in two of those last three starting with this one here. DaUnderdog found a way to win last week by playing great defense! The offense failed to show up but it didn’t matter and they will be hoping to do the same this week against Big Papa. This is another playoff game for DaUnderdog as if they lose this one you can pretty much count them out!

Prediction:
If there is one thing I can count on each week it is that I have to mentally put in starters for DaUnderdog before I pick there game because they like to keep their opponent guessing on what their starting roster might be! From what I see now, I don’t expect this to be a high scoring game at all. I am thinking Big Papa wins this one by a score of 97 to 89.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 19
  • Record: Advantage DaUnderdog at 12-7
  • PPG Avg: Advantage DaUnderdog 110.15 to 99.58

U Don’t Know (7-3) vs BIGBOY! (4-6)

Some of these teams that looked like they were head and shoulders above the rest have really struggled the past few weeks. U Don’t Know is one of them as they have lost two straight and three of their last four games. However, they still find themselves at the top of the league with three weeks to play but they need to get back to their winning ways and start building momentum for the playoffs now. BIGBOY! is coming off that terrible loss to Pack Attack and their playoffs begin this week as they can’t afford another loss or they can say goodbye to the playoffs and hello to the consolation round!

Prediction:
I think is going to be a tough one for BIGBOY! to win. They will most likely be without C. Carson again this week and even though they may get Lazard back I am not sure how much work he will get in his first game back. U Don’t Know will be looking for a big game tonight from DK Metcalf although the last time they played Arizona DK only had 4 points and it was T. Lockett who exploded for a huge game. The other advantage I see here for U Don’t Know is they have M. Evans and BIGBOY! has T. Brady. In most cases the QB, WR matchups like this would favor the person who has the WR as if the QB has a big game the WR usually will as well especially if it is one of the primary pass catchers on the team! All that to say I think U Don’t Know finds a way to get back in the win column and end BIGBOY’s playoff chances.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 10
  • Record: Tied at 5-5
  • PPG Avg: Advantage BIGBOY! 127.10 to 121.25

Bossman (7-3) vs pack slayer (4-6)

Bossman is on a roll as we have mentioned and that means that this becomes a big game for them. Even though, they are virtually a lock to get into the playoffs this one has everything to do with playoff positioning. For those of you that have been in this league for awhile you know how important getting one of those two first round byes are and I know that Bossman has their eyes set on not only that but also that #1 overall spot. pack slayer like a few other teams is entering the playoffs this week (well actually they started last week). They are in must win mode if they want to have a chance at a playoff berth. They did what they had to do last week and now they get a tough match up against one of the better teams in the league. A win here though would not only keep their playoff hopes alive but it also would build some big time momentum with two weeks remaining!

Prediction:
J. Winston vs A. Smith! In a game that means a lot for both teams who would have thought that J. Winston and A. Smith would be the two quarterbacks leading the teams. Now, I know that the reason Winston is starting for Bossman is because J. Allen is on his bye but for pack slayer they are all in on A. Smith as they don’t have another QB on their roster. I think Bossman finds a way to win this one. D. Cook might have another 50 point game this week as he goes up against the Cowboys and they should be getting C. Ridley back. The one thing that will be interesting to watch is the decision to start Winston over Burrow. Burrow has been solid and Winston hasn’t started a game all year. These are the type of decisions that Bossman notoriously gets right BUT if he doesn’t will that be enough to cost them the win? Either way, I got Bossman with the win and again another team sending their opponent to the consolation round!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 9
  • Record: Advantage Bossman at 5-4
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Bossman 130.86 to 125.54

PackerFANatic7 (5-5) vs HHH (5-5)

I LOVE this game and all the storylines. For starters you have a Father-Son matchup which always makes for fun games but what makes this even more fun is the fact that there is a lot at stake! I looked at both teams schedules and they will be favored to win in one of the remaining two games after this one. The loser of this game won’t be out of the playoff race however they will need to win their remaining two games and get help or win tiebreakers. While the winner here likely controls their own destiny and if they win their following two games they should get in! I am wondering what is being said in that household this week? Maybe something like “Dad, can I use your phone for a bit”.
Transaction wire: HHH drops D. Hopkins and A. Jones
PackerFANatic7 wouldn’t do something like this.. would they!? 🙂

Prediction:
I expect this to be a really good game and it will start off with some expected fireworks as D. Hopkins for HHH and T. Lockett for PackerFANatic7 will go head to head in tonight’s Thursday night game. The last time these two teams played Lockett had 63 points however since then they have yet to score in double figures. If one of these WR’s is able to put their team out to a 15 to 20 point lead that would be huge and might go a long way towards victory. Like HHH’s game last week that came down to Monday night I fully expect that to happen again only this time I don’t think they pull it out. Look for PackerFANatic7 to hang on and get the HUGE win in this one!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 3
  • Record: Advantage HHH at 2-1
  • PPG Avg: Advantage HHH 137.76 to 129.32

Starrfavrerodg (8-2) vs Sportsfreak (2-8)

I mentioned this before but Starrfavrerodg has checked every box in their rookie season and in doing so they have passed everyone and now sit as the #1 overall seed after 10 weeks. Now there is this new checkbox I am sending their way this week and that is they have a target on their back! When you have your team at the top you know that you will get everyone’s best shot and that’s what is about to happen. Not to mention how do they handle being on top and now coming into a game against record wise one of the worst in the league. You are expected to take care of business. Can they? Or will Sportsfreak go out and prove to everyone their current two win season is simply a season filled with bad luck?

Prediction:
For both of these teams you start with the QB’s. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Murray has 40 points tonight on Thursday night football. It also wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Mahomes matched that on Sunday night football. If that happens where Mahomes matches Murray’s output then I think Starrfavrerodg. If not, I could see this being a huge upset. So what I am saying is I expect that Starrfavrerodg will be losing heading into Sunday nights game and I could see them as being down somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 to 30 points. Mahomes will have a big game and Jacobs will likely hit projections because of a early TD and some receiving yards. Starrfavrerodg will be down by 7 going into Monday nights game and will be losing all the way until C. Godwin gets a 20 yard catch in the 4th quarter to seal the win! What an exciting game for a 8-2 vs 2-8 matchup!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Record: N/A
  • PPG Avg: N/A

XVII – Week 10 Recap

Pack Attack (110.72) vs BIGBOY! (102.72)

Ouch! This one is going to sting for awhile and likely all the way into next season as Pack Attack (2-8) pulls off the upset over BIGBOY! (4-6). Why would this upset last all the way into next season? If BIGBOY! misses out on the playoffs by one game they will be looking back at this one as they just loss to a one win last place team! The good news for BIGBOY! is that they didn’t lose any ground in their quest for the playoffs but the bad news is that they didn’t gain any! A win in this one and they would have been tied for that #6 spot with 3 games to go! They now need to win their three remaining games and get some help if they want to get back to the playoffs but after this loss that looks extremely unlikely!

16hrs Ahead of You!! (94.83) vs Rapids Plungers (78.24)

Wow! What an UGLY yet HUGE win this was for 16hrs (5-5) as they move back to .500 on the season and they find themselves tied with four other teams for that 6th and final playoff spot. In looking at their schedule coming into this week you knew it was going to be a big challenge for them to make the playoffs as their remaining schedule is one of the toughest. They didn’t let that get to them and they did what they needed to do this week and now they get a suddenly struggling teamAlaska team next week. For Rapids Plungers this was a hugely disappointing loss as they fall to 5-5 on the season. If the playoffs were to end right now they would be in the playoffs thanks to the points scored tie breaker however this was a chance for them to create a bit of breathing room and even keep their hopes alive for a playoff bye. Instead now they are in “hang on” mode as we enter the last three weeks of the season. I am excited to see where the next three weeks leads for both of these teams and given their last playoff season was almost a decade ago I can’t help but root for 16hrs!

Starrfavrerodg (123.03) vs Big Papa (119.38)

There it is! We now have a brand new #1 overall team in the league! This rise to the very top of the leaderboard has been extremely impressive for Starrfavrerodg as they move to 8-2 on the season with a huge win over Big Papa (6-4). Starrfavrerodg has answered every question along the way and they answered the last one this week which was, “Can they win without Mahomes”? Yes, they can and for the remainder of the season that shouldn’t matter as Mahomes bye week is now past him and they look locked and loaded for the final three weeks and playoffs. There are a couple of things that are super important in this league and that is consistency and 100 points. If you consistently score 100 points or more each week you will likely be in or within striking distance of the playoffs at the end of the year. Starrfavrerodg has done just that in their first year as they are the only team in the league this year that has scored over 100 points each week and that has now led them all the way to the #1 overall spot in the league. Now let’s talk about Big Papa as despite the loss they proved they won’t go down without a fight this season and with a 6-4 record and three games remaining this looks like a playoff team… BUT… there is one thing with this one that I am sure Big Papa coach is not happy about and that is their decision to keep their 2nd round pick in the draft and 21st player taken on the bench for this one (Kenyan Drake). This is the type of game these players are supposed to win for you and had Drake been in the starting lineup over M. Gordon Big Papa would not only had won this game but they would have moved themselves into a 4 way tie for 1st place in the league! Those are the ones you lose sleep over!

Bossman (115.81) vs U Don’t Know (109.59)

Bossman (7-3) does it again and finds a way to win their 3rd in a row and four of their last five games. This win was the biggest of them all as not only did it get them to 7-3 on the season and within striking distance of that #1 overall seed but it also took down a team in U Don’t Know (7-3) who is right there with them battling for that # 1 spot or a first round bye! This was a close game all the way through and it came down to the last two players for Bossman to get the win. They went into Sunday Night’s game down by 18.78 points with both J. Meyers and Dalvin cook left to play. Meyers surprisingly outscored Cook 14 to 11 but the combination of both of them was just enough for a 6 point win. U Don’t Know falls to 7-3 on the season and has really been struggling to find wins the last 4 weeks as they have gone 1-3 over that time. I think the thing to hold onto for this team is the fact that despite all of that they still have everything within their grasp. Playoffs look like a lock still, first round bye is in play and still the #1 overall seed. So despite the rough go of it the past few weeks if you would have told them starting the season that through 10 games they would be 7-3 and one game out of the top spot in the league I think they would have taken it! I expect better days ahead of U Don’t Know. There is something interesting about this game and it is for sure a Bossman way of winning and I mean that in a good way. I mentioned that J. Meyers outscored Cook and their combined score was what led Bossman to the win. The how behind the scoring for J. Meyers is where it gets interesting. How often do WR’s throw TD passes? I think it is safe to call that rare. How often do those WR thrown TD passes turn into a fantasy football win? Even more rare. J. Meyers threw a 24 yard TD pass on Sunday night football which equaled 6.48 points. Bossman won this game by 6.22 points. So for those of you who are math challenged, without that TD pass Bossman would have lost this game by 0.26 pts! That’s crazy! And that’s the way Bossman seems to continually find ways to win games! Once again, well done sir!

DaUnderdog (80.08) vs teamAlaska (79.36)

So last night I was having this crazy dream and it was all about how DaUnderdog (4-6) beat teamAlaska (6-4) by 0.72 points. It wasn’t just crazy because they won but that they won because two bears players for DaUnderdog (A. Robinson and C. Santos) scored 15.65 points on Monday night football AND the best part of the dream is that teamAlaska couldn’t even get 1 point from J. Graham in the same Bears game so they lost! Lol that’s funny and that wasn’t even the best part of the dream. The best part was that teamAlaska also had two of their top scoring players this week sitting on the bench! Wow…that’s a crazy dream and nightmare if you are teamAlaska! I can’t help but wonder however if this dream isn’t over yet and if in the dream there is a stat correction on the following Wed evening / Thur morning that changes the score and teamAlaska wins! Now THAT would make for a truly CRAZY dream!

HHH (135.96) vs Sportsfreak (125.19)

There were some big games this week and some big wins for teams but this win by HHH has to be one of the most important ones for a team. HHH came into this one really struggling as they had loss 4 in a row and facing yes a two win team but not your average two win team in Sportsfreak. HHH however did exactly what they needed to do and got the win in the highest scoring game of the weekend. I want to go back to my preview of this game where I wrote the following, “I expect a good connection between Murray and Hopkins” who knew that connection was going to be sooo good! Wow! And I also wrote, “I expect this to be close and I am guessing it will come down to J. Jefferson on Monday night football”. It did come down to J. Jefferson and like he has more times then not this season he came through for HHH with 19.75 points. This win put them back .500 on the season at 5-5 and now with three games remaining the playoffs are within their grasp! For Sportsfreak, they have to be wondering what more they have to do to get a win this season. Yes, they fell to 2-8 on the season but this is how you know your team is not as bad as it’s record and your luck really is terrible! Sportsfreak is 2-8 as mentioned but they have scored more points this season then our #1 overall team who has a 8-2 record! They are the 5th highest scoring team in the league this season. I did a quick look and in their 8 losses this season the team they lost to was either was either the top highest scoring team or 2nd highest scoring team that week in 5 of those 8 losses! Time to fire your defensive coordinator Sportsfreak!

pack slayer (124.72) vs PackerFANatic7 (100.88)

pack slayer proved this week that they are not giving up as they moved to 4-6 on the season and given that virtually everyone else ahead of them loss their playoff hopes look a lot better this week then they did going into last. A lot would need to happen for them to go from 11th place to 6th in three weeks but the fact is that they are a game out of the final playoff spot with three weeks to go. They won this week by finally getting a strong team effort as they had six positions score in double figures and outside of the 1.90 points from R. Nall everyone else got 7 or more this week. They are lacking in firepower so for them to have a chance to win these next three games this is the way at which they are going to have to do it. PackerFANatic7 falls to 5-5 on the season and continues their win one, lose one trend that started back in week 5. If that holds true, HHH is in trouble next week, Starrfavrerodg is happy in week 12 and DaUnderdog loses in week 13. That would mean a 7 win season for PackerFANatic7 which gives them a chance at a playoff spot but it may come down to a tie breaker of points scored. A win here would have been huge for them as they would have moved a game ahead of the rest of the field for the 6th and final playoff spot and they would have been tied with three others for the 4th spot. They need to figure out a way to string a winning streak together and what better time then the last three weeks of the season.

That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!

XVII – Week 10 Preview

BIGBOY! (4-5) vs Pack Attack (1-8)

This may be the happiest BIGBOY! coach Kyle Lindgren has been to see his Brother in law in a long time! And by see I mean, I see I get to play you in fantasy this week! BIGBOY! needs this win in the worst way. If they can’t beat a 1-8 team with their playoff lives on the line well then they are done and they can start talking about next season! I am sure Pack Attack will do what they can to try and play the role of spoiler but when your team has won one game all year you don’t have a lot of weapons or tricks to go to at this point. Will BIGBOY! suffer yet another loss and this time one of the more humiliating ones of the year or will they get the much needed win and keep their hopes of a playoff berth alive?

Prediction:
Check out the Yahoo predictions for this one!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 10
  • Record: Tied at 5-5
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Pack Attack 128.31 vs 110.64

Rapids Plungers (5-4) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (4-5)

There are some really great games this week and all for a bit different reasons but this is one of them. This one is all about getting to the playoffs. A win here and the defending champs Rapids Plungers would be in great shape to not only reach the playoffs for the 5th year in a row but also have a chance at defending their title! 16hrs will be looking to break their streak of 9 straight years without a playoff berth and a win here keeps those hopes alive. A loss and they wouldn’t be eliminated but they would have to win out and get help! Big game for both teams!

Prediction:
We have a lot going on with both of these teams. There are some major players out due to bye weeks but then you have a couple of other star players who are expected to return from injuries. Those players returning from injury are always a bit harder to determine workload in their first games back especially if they have capable backups. Rapids Plungers continues to win the injury lottery if there was such a thing as just when you thought M. Davis was done scoring 20 points a game McCaffrey goes and gets hurt again! That is a huge boost to this team and adds another RB1 into their lineup. I don’t think 16hrs has enough firepower to stick with Rapids Plungers this week and I expect Rapids to continue their rise in the standings!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 11
  • Record: Advantage Rapids Plungers at 9-2
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Rapids Plungers 119.26 to 97.43

HHH (4-5) vs Sportsfreak (2-7)

This is a big game for one team and it isn’t the team with two wins. This is a game that HHH absolutely has to win. Similar to what I said about BIGBOY! who is playing Pack Attack this week. If HHH wants any chance at the playoffs they need to be able to beat a 2 win team who will now be without one of their top players in C. McCaffrey! HHH has lost 4 in a row but a win here gets them back to .500 on the season and with three weeks remaining anything can happen. For Sportsfreak, well I was kind of excited to see what this team would do the rest of the way with the roster they had. I really felt like they would have been a team that no one would want to play. I still think even with the loss of McCaffrey this week that this is not a 2 win team roster but that is what the record says so we need to go with it! There Sportsfreak that is about the best compliment I can give you! Your team isn’t as bad as the record may state!

Prediction:
I look at this one as another one of those toss up type of games. I am however going with HHH to get the win because I expect a good connection between Murray and Hopkins which benefits both teams from a scoring perspective but it benefits HHH a bit more as they have Hopkins. I also think Brees has another nice game now that he has all his weapons back. I expect this to be close and I am guessing it will come down to J. Jefferson on Monday night football. I think HHH gets the win!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 18
  • Record: Advantage Sportsfreak at 10-8
  • PPG Avg: Advantage HHH 115.79 to 115.73

PackerFANatic7 (5-4) vs pack slayer (3-6)

Things looked pretty bleak for PackerFANatic7 a couple of weeks ago after their loss to the previously winless Pack Attack team (yes, I like to write that as much as I can) but they went toe to toe last week with U Don’t Know and came out on top! If that didn’t build some momentum for the entire team I am not sure what will. With 4 weeks left they have everything out in front of them and a clear path to the playoffs which starts this week by beating pack slayer. pack slayer’s playoffs start now as they can’t lose another game if they want any shot at the playoffs and even if they do win out there is no guarantee that 7 wins gets you in.

Prediction:
If the recent trend holds true for PackerFanatic7 then this is their week to lose. As since week 5 they have been going, win, loss, win, loss, win, ?. I don’t think that trend holds true this week as I see PackerFANatic7 building on last weeks win and getting their second in a row here to continue moving up in the standings!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 3
  • Record: Advantage PackerFANatic7 at 2-1
  • PPG Avg: Advantage pack slayer 139.94 to 136.56

teamAlaska (6-3) vs DaUnderdog (3-6)

Ever heard of this thing called “Speaking it into existence” or maybe if you are a parent and were thinking of baby names for your child you not only looked at the name but you also looked at the meaning? Why did you do that? You most likely did that because you want your kids to live up to that name. Things like strong, or courageous or warrior would be common for boys and then of course sweet, loving, caring, angel for girls. Why am I talking about this? Well, DaUnderdog… your team name is DaUnderdog! And here we are 9 weeks into the season and you my friend have been living up to your team very well this year! You are officially DaUnderdog in this one too! teamAlaska has lost two games in a row and they will be looking to right that ship this week and with one of the easier remaining schedules they will be hoping to not only get the win here but work their way back to the top of the league!

Prediction:
I am not going to spend a lot of time predicting this one as I don’t see DaUnderdog pulling it out. I think teamAlaska gets stops their two game losing streak with convincing win in this one!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 16
  • Record: Advantage DaUnderdog at 11-5
  • PPG Avg: Advantage DaUnderdog 112.48 to 96.07

U Don’t Know (7-2) vs Bossman (6-3)

There are a lot of good games that I am excited to see the outcome but this one is the game of the week. You have U Don’t Know who is sitting at the #1 spot in the league and looking to hold on over these next 4 weeks while Bossman is looking to climb the rankings and has their eyes set on one of those top two seeds and a playoff bye! A win here against one of the two teams ahead of them likely does just that! If they can get this win they will likely be favored in the next two games and then they finish off the season against Starrfavrerodg. The path to the #1 overall seed is in their control. U Don’t Know can say the same thing. They have been mentioned as one of the top teams in the league all year and they want nothing to do with letting any other team take that away with 4 weeks left. I expect them to come out and have a good game this week!

Prediction:
Bossman was led last week by huge performances from J. Allen and D. Cook. Cook especially has been on fire the last two weeks. However, Cook is going up against a much better defense this week in the Bears who just held one D. Henry to 68 yards rushing on 21 carries last week. I am not saying Cook won’t get his points but he has had back to back 50 point games. I am saying that a 20 point game seems more realistic which for most RB’s is a good game! On the flip side, I think DK Metcalf and S. Diggs are in for huge games for U Don’t Know. I don’t see Bossman being able to match the scoring output for U Don’t Know this week. I could see this being a 160 point week or better for U Don’t Know and they come away with the W to keep their hold on the #1 spot.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 13
  • Record: Advantage Bossman at 8-5
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Bossman 130.90 to 114.66

Starrfavrerodg (7-2) vs Big Papa (6-3)

This is another one of those great games this week as we have a potential playoff preview! Big Papa has won three of their last four games and it was just a couple of weeks ago that they handed U Don’t Know their first loss of the season. Starrfavrerodg has been tearing through the league as they have won seven of their last eight games and four in a row to now find themselves sitting at #2 in the league. I know a little about this coach and winning isn’t everything to him but someone has to be first and he will do whatever it takes to get his team there! Oh and the other alternative to winning is losing and that pretty much stinks! So we have two teams with a lot of momentum and playoff seeding on the line. Does Big Papa get the win and suddenly enter the conversation as a team that could get that 1st round bye or does Starrfavrerodg continue to leave their mark on the rest of the league with yet another win!?

Prediction:
In big games like this you always like to see both teams at full strength but unfortunately that is not the case in this one. On the flip side, you usually find out a little more about the team and their depth when they have to find ways to win without some of their best players. This week Starrfavrerodg will be without their top player in P. Mahomes due to bye and Big Papa will be missing one of their better RB’s in CEH. This clearly hurts Starrfavrerodg more but they brought in a capable backup in P. Rivers. This is one of those flip a coin type of games. I don’t love the idea of Big Papa starting two Cin WR’s against a tough Steelers D but I also think it unlikely that D. Johnson plays this week for Starrfavrerodg. If the Cin / Pit game turns into a shootout that is the most likely path for Big Papa to win as I mentioned they have the two CIN WR’s and they also have C. Claypool for Pit. Starrfavrerodg on the other hand is hoping that game is a slow grind it out game as they have J. Conner! So now I flip the coin and it is heads. Starrfavrerodg keeps the momentum going and picks up win #8 on the season.

XVII – Week 9 Recap

Bossman (182.61) vs Pack Attack (132.84)

Now this is just borderline mean! A week after Pack Attack (1-8) got their first win of the season Bossman (6-3) came out and reminded them what a good team looks like by scoring 182 points in a dominating performance. Pack Attack will now proceed to go back into that deep, dark, lonely position known as the worst team in the league! Bossman has now won back to back games and they were led this week by three primary players, J. Allen (43.23), D. Cook (50.03) and J. Meyers (30.45). Yes, J. Meyers who was only starting because C. Ridley was out due to injury and both R. Woods and T. Fulgham were on their bye weeks. This is what the Bossman team is known for, finding those diamonds in the rough each week when needed that come in and help their team win. All three of their starting WR’s were picked up from the Free Agent pool this week and they scored 46 points combined. That’s impressive considering we had two teams that couldn’t even get to 70 points for their entire team and here is Bossman casually grabbing WR’s from the “there is no one available in free agency” pool of players and getting 46 points. Well done sir!

16hrs Ahead of You!! (119.22) vs BIGBOY! (83.91)

This was a huge win for 16hrs (4-5) as they stopped their two game losing streak and keep them in the mix for a playoff spot with only 4 games remaining. Yes, we are talking about playoffs and 16hrs with 4 weeks remaining! 16hrs had three players (M. Ryan, AJ Brown and C. Kirk) all score over 20 points and they got enough from the rest of their supporting cast to bring home the win here. This really felt like a game that 16hrs had to win as they have Rapids Plungers, teamAlaska, Pack Attack and U Don’t Know as their remaining 4 games. That is a tough schedule (minus Pack Attack of course) and they will likely need to win three of their next 4 to have a shot at the playoffs. For BIGBOY! (4-5) this was a disappointing and frustrating loss. They only had two offensive players score more then 10 points this week and D. Prescott who is walking around on crutches this week scored more points then T. Brady! They now have some work to do these next 4 weeks if they want to get back to the playoffs after missing last season.

Big Papa (107.26) vs HHH (89.71)

Big Papa just continues to find ways to win as they move their record to 6-3 on the season and are looking in great shape for the playoffs. This was another one of those less then impressive wins but at this point in the season with bye weeks and injuries you take the wins however you can! The fact of the matter is that Big Papa as 6 wins and in reality likely needs to win two of their next four games to lock in a playoff spot! HHH made a game of it with D. Brees having 26 points but he was the only player on their team this week to score over 10 and that usually is not going to get it done! HHH (4-5) falls to below .500 for the first time all year and after what looked to be a very promising season is now looking like one that may end up with them playing for consolation prizes come playoff time!

Sportsfreak (168.41) vs pack slayer (67.06)

Sportsfreak gets win # 2 on the season and this time in dominating fashion! This is not your average two win team as if you were to throw the records out the window and just start comparing rosters. I would tell you that a roster with K. Murray, D. Adams, DJ Moore, DJ Chark, J. Jacobs and C. McCaffrey would rank high on my list. Unfortunately for Sportsfreak we don’t throw records out the window and this uber talented team does only have 2 wins to their name and the only way they get into the playoffs is to do something that has never been done…. Get to the playoffs with a losing record. pack slayer falls to 3-6 on the season and they are all but done. Their coach must think the same thing as the excuses are starting to come to justify their performance, they were noted as stating “Haven’t had a 1st rounder all year”. I am not sure that anyone feels sorry but if you are looking for it… I am sorry that you got the #1 overall pick this year. That’s a bummer!

PackerFANatic7 (161.65) vs U Don’t Know (141.25)

Wow! I didn’t see this one coming. What a performance from PackerFANatic7 this week. After last week’s loss to the previously winless Pack Attack team I didn’t think they had a chance here but they came out and proved everyone wrong and they did so by having their best week of the season. They are now sitting at 5-4 and in 7th place due to Rapids Plungers having scored more points. This is that time of year that this becomes a big deal especially for those teams trying to get into the playoffs. I don’t have the number in front of me but it happens often where a team misses out on the playoffs because they lose the tie breaker of points scored. So for those teams sitting at 4 and 5 wins it is time to win and win BIG! For one week, PackerFANatic7 did just that and they now will be looking to string together some wins and get closer to that playoff spot. U Don’t Know played a solid game as it isn’t too often that you will score over 140 and lose but that is what happened in this one. They fall to 7-2 on the season but they hang on to the #1 overall spot because of points scored. Starrfavrerodg is now sitting at #2 and just waiting for another loss to take over! Despite the loss it was good to see them have back to back solid weeks after two really poor weeks. This team will be just fine.

Rapids Plungers (139.98) vs teamAlaska (130.05)

Is it surprising that this was the closest game of the week? Nope. Considering what I mentioned in the preview and how close each of the previous 12 games have been this was the type of game expected. Rapids Plungers (5-4) gets back to the win column after their close loss to BIGBOY from a week ago. This was a big win for them as not only did they avoid a mini losing streak but they took down one of the better teams in the league. They also have one of the easier remaining schedules so the playoffs are looking very promising for this team! teamAlaska falls to 6-3 after their 2nd straight loss. They have played against two tough teams the last two weeks and they like Rapids Plungers have a fairly easy schedule the rest of the way. I don’t see this team being in danger of falling out of the playoffs but they have a shot at that first round bye and finding a way to get there would be huge for them in these last 4 weeks!

Starrfavrerodg (129.20) vs DaUnderdog (56.78)

The train just keeps rolling as Starrfavrerodg (7-2) has now won 4 straight games and have more momentum then any team in the league right now. I was a bit uncertain of this team but they keep checking the one box that matters and that is winning! They have moved themselves all the way up to the top of the leaderboard and now have their eyes set on that top spot in the league! This has been an impressive rookie campaign for Starrfavrerodg and no matter what happens is will be a success but I think they have their eyes set on something much larger. Could they actually win a championship in their first season? We are a bit earlier to be talking that way but with 4 weeks remaining and the way they are playing right now they have to be considered as one of the favorites! DaUnderdog falls to 3-6 on the season and while they are not mathematically eliminated from playoff contention it would likely take their 1st round pick in S. Barkley to come off of IR and L. Jackson to actually resemble someone close to what he was last season. At this point, I am not sure which one is more likely to happen! If Lamar Jackson was reading this… sorry! DaUnderdog had 5 positions that couldn’t find a way to score more then a point. Hard to win a game that way!

That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!

XVII – Week 9 Preview

Bossman (5-3) vs Pack Attack (1-7)

On a normal year this is one of your best rivalry games and with a lot at stake in a week 9 matchup. Bossman has done their part by being right in the thick of the playoff race through 9 weeks but Pack Attack has seemingly forgotten that in order for a game to be considered a rivalry or have meaning they actually need to have won some games! This game does have some importance however as Bossman who is right now in the middle of the playoff pack needs to win the games they “should” win as they go up against U Don’t Know next week. Wins the next two weeks and this team could be talking about the possibility of a first round bye. Losses the next two weeks and the narrative shifts to needing wins to sneak into the playoffs.

Prediction:
Check out the Yahoo predictions for this one!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 16
  • Record: Advantage Pack Attack at 10-6
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Pack Attack 130.15 vs 121.04

BIGBOY! (4-4) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (3-5)

As we talked about last week BIGBOY! got the huge win against Rapids Plungers to stop their three game losing streak and set themselves up for a real chance at not just making the playoffs but pushing their way up the leaderboard. That push needs to start this week as they go up against a 16hrs team that is in desperate need of a win. 16hrs has lost two in a row and last week’s loss was one of their worst performances of the year. They need to turn things around and they need to do it fast if they want any chance at making the playoffs. This is an extremely important game for both teams which makes it one I will be watching closely throughout the weekend. Will BIGBOY! keep building on the momentum from last week’s win or will 16hrs get the win and remaining in the conversation for that ever elusive (for this team) playoff spot?

Prediction:
I took a quick glance at the lineups and I saw that 16hrs would be without D. Henderson (bye week) who hasn’t been anything special but he has potential and knowing how decimated this team has been at RB I didn’t think there would be anyway I would consider them for the win. However, I started looking closer at the players and I actually think they have a shot. I think 16hrs is likely going to be in the 100 to 120 range depending on who they find to replace Henderson in their starting lineup and they have some players who could be sneaky good plays this week like J. McKinnon, Ebron and Beasley. For BIGBOY! I see mostly the opposite. They have the more well known names and guys with greater potential but I am not sure I see it this week. Brady vs NO seems like a tough one, Zeke is going to be the focus for teams to stop with nothing to worry about at QB.. OH and he is going up against the Steelers. It actually wouldn’t surprise me if T. Pollard outscores Zeke this week. Then there is C. Carson who I am not sure what his status will be so with all that said I see even fewer points for BIGBOY! I am picking the upset here and going with 16hrs to find a way to get the win.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 10
  • Record: Advantage BIGBOY! at 8-2
  • PPG Avg: Advantage BIGBOY! 124.46 to 98.98

Big Papa (5-3) vs HHH (4-4)

There are a number of games that I will be keeping close eye on and this is one of them for sure. HHH has been struggling and they are waiting on pins and needles to see if A. Jones is back this week or will he be out for the third straight week. HHH needs to find a way to win this one and stop this three game losing streak! If they can, their schedule actually sets up rather nicely for rattling off a few wins in a row and strengthening their playoff positioning. If they lose, they are going to need to rattle off those wins just to get into the playoffs! Big Papa interestingly enough only lost their last game by 1.58 points. We knew it was a close game but then there was a stat correction and pack slayer lost 5.05pts due to that correction which made the game that much closer. I know a loss is a loss but that is one that might come back to haunt them as they only would have needed to score 83 points to get the win. Big Papa will be looking to get back into the win column and in doing so staying at the top of the standings while HHH is looking to avoid a full on free fall which prior to this losing streak had them being looked at as one of the better teams in the league.

Prediction:
The biggest question marks come down to the RB’s on both teams. There is rumors out there that both K. Drake (Big Papa RB) and A. Jones (HHH RB) will be playing this week but that is also followed up with a lot of uncertainty especially for Drake as it looks unlikely at this point that he will go. If A. Jones does play he is in line for a big day against a banged up 49ers defense and team as a whole oh and not to mention that the Packers 2nd and 3rd string RB’s won’t be playing so if Jones is in he is likely in for a solid workload. For the sake of predicting the game, I am going to assume both Drake and Jones are out. There are players on both teams that I really like this week but there are two players in particular for HHH that I think will lead them to victory. Those two players are D. Hopkins and J. Jefferson. Jefferson is coming off a quiet game against GB which saw him matched up against J. Alexander and not to mention Cousins only threw the ball 14 times. While D. Hopkins is rested and coming off his bye week so it is easy to forget he is coming off his best game since week 1. I like A. Gibson for Big Papa and D. Parker seems like a good matchup which I would like a bit more if Fitzmagic was still throwing him the ball. I am going with HHH to break their losing streak and move both Big Papa and HHH into a tie!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 18
  • Record: Advantage HHH at 10-8
  • PPG Avg: Advantage HHH 119.30 to 113.03

pack slayer (3-5) vs Sportsfreak (1-7)

pack slayer is coming off a narrow win last week as mentioned in the preview above but this is a team that is hanging on by a thread… a very, very thin thread! They now are going up against a team that has one win on the season in Sportsfreak so you would think this is a good chance for them to get their 4th win of the season. The problem is that this Sportsfreak team is not as bad as their 1 win record may say which certainly doesn’t bode well for pack slayer. In talking about Sportsfreak they will likely get C. McCaffrey back for this game which is somewhat ironic given that pack slayer and Sportsfreak pulled off the biggest trade of the season which included swapping Kittle and McCaffrey. With the injury to Kittle it certainly looks like Sportsfreak got the best of this deal and how ironic McCaffrey’s first game back is against pack slayer! If Sportsfreak wins this one and does so because of McCaffrey’s performance I think it is safe to say that McCaffrey ruined pack slayer’s 2020 season! It kind of seems like pack slayer maybe should have considered trading McCaffrey to a team he has already played to avoid this?

Prediction:
So I think you may be able to tell who I am picking in this one given the preview portion of this matchup. What I didn’t mention is that pack slayer will also be without K. Hunt and C. Kupp in this one so I really don’t see a path to victory. Look for Sportsfreak to get win #2 on the season!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 9
  • Record: Advantage pack slayer at 6-3
  • PPG Avg: Advantage pack slayer 121.10 to 115.36

teamAlaska (6-2) vs Rapids Plungers (4-4)

GAME OF THE WEEK! This game lost a bit of it’s appeal as both of these teams are coming off tough losses last week. Rapids Plungers however was missing some key players due to bye or injury to they are hoping for a bounceback game this week. teamAlaska just had a dud of a game and they too will be looking for a bounceback performance. The fact that both teams are coming off a loss also maybe makes it a bit more important of a game. Given their records, it is far more important for Rapids Plungers as they do not want to fall back below .500 as they have worked hard over the past few weeks to claw their way back so a loss here would be tough. A win here though would prove what I have been saying for the last few weeks which is that the defending champs are coming and they are coming on strong! If teamAlaska can hold off the defending champs and move to 7-2 on the season it would only solidify their team as one of the favorites to win it all!

Prediction:
Neither of these teams will be at 100% full strength. teamAlaska will be without K. Golladay and Rapids Plungers will be without M. Sanders and T. Boyd. I still expect this to be one of the higher scoring games of the week as their are players all over the place that have high ceilings! R. Wilson is going to do his thing and put up big points this week which teamAlaska is going to need. I don’t love R. Anderson against a solid Chiefs D and T. Gurley’s usage was interesting last week and the same could be said with D. Singletary as Z. Moss is seemingly moving into more carries each week. I think C. Edmonds has a big game and I also like J. Dobbins this week. This game likely will come down to the play of D. Watson and W. Fuller. I think this needs to be a 45 pt duo for them to win this week and I am not sure that I trust them to do this. I expect this to be close, really close which for these two teams seems about right as historically they are about as close as you can get. 12 games, each team won 6 of those games and the ppg avg over those 12 games is within 0.61 points! I don’t expect that average to move much but I am going with teamAlaska to find a way to get win #7!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 12
  • Record: Tied at 6-6
  • PPG Avg: Advantage teamAlaska 113.68 to 113.07

U Don’t Know (7-1) vs PackerFANatic7 (4-4)

U Don’t Know got back to their winning ways last week and I am curious to know how they come out and play this week. I am also curious to see how PackerFANatic7 comes out and plays but for a different reason as they are coming off a tough loss to the previously winless Pack Attack team. I know they would want nothing more then to come out and “Totally redeem themself” by getting a win this week against the top team in the league. You might say that this is a far more important game for PackerFANatic7 then U Don’t Know. If you are thinking of just getting to the playoffs then of course that is true but for U Don’t Know this is about securing that first round bye and overall #1 seed with the first round bye being the most important! I am excited to see who comes out on top of this one.

Prediction:
This is another interesting game and one that based on the records you would think that the 7 win U Don’t Know team would run away with however in looking at the lineups I expect this to be a close game. I like both Herbert and Rodgers this week. I like Diggs and McLaurin. I don’t love M. Evans this week or J. Taylor against Bal. PackerFANatic7 is benefiting from this GB / SF game where no name players are likely to get some opportunities such as D. Williams for GB and R. James for SF. I think this one comes down to which Sea WR gets the 150 yards and 2TD game? The latest trend between these two WR’s would say this is T. Lockett’s turn for a monster game. I am just not 100% sure that holds true here. It very easily could, however I am going to go with DK to have the slightly better game this week and help U Don’t Know to get the W!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 3
  • Record: Advantage PackerFANatic7 at 2-1
  • PPG Avg: Advantage U Don’t Know 102.04 to 100.35

Starrfavrerodg (6-2) vs DaUnderdog (3-5)

Starrfavrerodg is on a roll! They have won three straight games and they are coming off their biggest win of the season last week! Not only that they are going for the “Keepers Sweep” and major bragging rights for their first season in the league. Keepers Sweep = beating all coaches with a last name of Keepers and now there is only one person left for them to take down and that is DaUnderdog and their coach Tyler Keepers. I know they are excited about the prospect of doing that but they have their eyes set on so much more this season as they want to continue their rise to the top of the standings and get one of those top two seeds! DaUnderdog got the much needed win last week but they are going to have their work cut out for them this week to get the W.

Prediction:
There is one shot that I see here for DaUnderdog. L. Jackson needs to have one of those games from last year that made him a first round pick this year. By one of those games I mean the very best game he had from last year which was 41.88! If he can pull that off then DaUnderdog has a chance but other then that happening I am not seeing a path to victory here for DaUnderdog and I expect that Starrfavrerodg keeps things rolling and gets win # 7!

XVII – Week 8 Recap

Pack Attack (119.56) vs PackerFANatic7 (80.19)

Well there it is! It only took 8 weeks to get there but Pack Attack finally gets their first win of the season. It wasn’t like they played great to get their first win but fortunately for them PackerFANatic7 had their worst week of the season. This is a tough one for PackerFANatic7 as they fall to 4-4 after having won three of their last four games. Were they overlooking this one and getting their eyes set on their next game against U Don’t Know? Possibly but either way they came out flat and it allowed Pack Attack to steal the win. PackerFanatic7’s road to the playoffs just got a bit tougher but they are very much in the mix with 5 games to play.

Bossman (157.73) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (70.30)

This was exactly the kind of performance Bossman (5-3) needed to start making that push to the top of the leaderboard. They had been struggling the past few weeks but a performance like this can really boost their confidence. Part of that confidence building is the way at which they won as they scored 157pts and only 13 of those points came from C. Ridley and J. Allen both of whom were big parts of their early success. I get it… 50 points from D. Cook likely is not happening again but it was good to see this team perform at a high level in a different way this time. 16hrs unfortunately is at it again and since I said unfortunately that isn’t a good thing. They fall to 3-5 on the season which is an improvement from last year but this is what has caused this team to miss the playoffs for 9 straight years. They have had seasons where they stay competitive for the first half but when we hit November and they need to win they seem to only find ways to lose. Sitting at 3-5 there is time to change the narrative but it needs to start next week!

pack slayer (87.06) vs Big Papa (81.30)

U-G-L-Y again! Yep, that is what the last two weeks have been for Big Papa only difference is that this week they didn’t win. pack slayer (3-5) was able to keep their season alive with a big win this week. It is kind of unusual for pack slayer to win these type of low scoring games but they did and it keeps them in the hunt with 5 weeks remaining. There road to the playoffs did just get tougher however as G. Kittle went down due to injury and likely will not be back again this season. That is tough news especially given the fact that the player they traded to get Kittle (C. McCaffrey) is likely to return next week. Sometimes it works in your favor and sometimes it doesn’t but they are still alive and they will do their best to keep finding ways to win and keep their playoff hopes alive. Big Papa on the other hand… I am not really sure what to think of this team right now. One week they look amazing in putting up 184 points and the next week they lose while scoring 90, oh but wait… the next week they score 145 in a win BUT they follow that up with a 98 point effort the next week. Overall three of their last 4 weeks they have failed to score 100 points. Is this team a contender or a pretender? They have a 5-3 record which would make you think contender but the product on the field has yet to prove it. They need to string together some solid performances before I would put them in the true contender category.

BIGBOY! (112.01) vs Rapids Plungers (110.47)

What a game this turned out to be as it came down to the 4th quarter of the last game of the week. BIGBOY! needed 15.98 points from T. Brady to seal the victory and I think most of us would have agreed with the way Brady had been playing and the fact they were playing the Giants that 16pts is a done deal. However, the Giants played a good game and made things tough for Brady and co. It came down to the final quarter and with 9:02 left in the game Brady found M. Evans for a TD which put BIGBOY! on top and sealed the win. This was a HUGE win for BIGBOY! as they moved to 4-4 on the season. In addition, of their five remaining games 4 of them are against teams with .500 or below records. It is setting up nicely for this team to make a move. For Rapids Plungers this slows some of the momentum they had coming into the week and pushes them back to .500 for now. I really look at this one as a blip rather then a sign of things to come as they were missing 4 key players this week and will be getting at least 3 of them back next week. I expect them to bounce back rather quickly.

DaUnderdog (101.11) vs HHH (68.65)

When you only have two wins after the first seven weeks of the season every game becomes critical for the remainder of the year and that was the case for DaUnderdog as they come away with a huge win to move their record to 3-5 on the season and keep their playoff hopes alive! They didn’t do anything special this week but I think you can point to the fact that A. Jones didn’t play for HHH and J. Williams was the benefactor for DaUnderdog. DaUnderdog has a brutal three game stretch ahead of them so if they do in fact make it to the playoffs this year they will have no doubt earned it! HHH is struggling right now and if the panic button isn’t out yet it certainly is getting dusted off! They have now lost three straight games and 4 of their last 5 to fall to 4-4 on the season. The worst part is that they keep getting worse each week as they have scored, 102.05, 98.91 and 68.65 respectively the last three weeks. If there is something to look forward to it is that they hope to get A. Jones back this week who has missed the last two weeks due to injury. They are going to need to turn this thing around quick as a loss next week to Big Papa would mean full on panic mode engaged!

U Don’t Know (151.23) vs Sportsfreak (124.34)

That’s a little bit more like it! This is the U Don’t Know (7-1) team that started out the season on a tear and looked like the best in the league. They got points from all across their team as 7 positions scored in double figures and DK. Metcalf led the way with 42.05. The win moved them to 7-1 on the season and thanks to teamAlaska’s loss they also reclaimed first place! I am having a bit of a hard time completely overlooking the previous two weeks where they failed to score 100 points in each but needless to say this is a top team in the league and not only does their record show it but the standings reflect it as well! Sportsfreak falls to 1-7 on the season and they just can’t seem to put it all together. After last week’s performance you thought that maybe this team was ready to make a little noise but unfortunately for them U Don’t Know had other plans. Sportsfreak actually played a solid game and they would have beat 10 other teams this week. That pretty much sums up their season.

Starrfavrerodg (152.19) vs teamAlaska (102.02)

Impressive! That is the best way I can describe my thoughts of this win by Starrfavrerodg (6-2). I had my doubts and really I have had my doubts this entire year because I was waiting for them to show me that they could win a shootout against a good team. I know this wasn’t a shootout as teamAlaska didn’t hold up their end of the bargain but going into the week you expected that Starrfavrerodg would need 140+ to win this one. They put up 152 and dominated what was the #1 team in the league. I think it also needs to be mentioned that their defense is legit! If their offense can start performing the way they did this week and the D continues to dominate… this could soon be the team taking over the top spot in the league! Pretty impressive for a rookie! teamAlaska falls to 6-2 on the season and back to 2nd place. I am not sure if it was the pressure of being on top or what happened this week but they certainly didn’t have their A game. This was their worst scoring week of the season by 20 points. This feels like a combination of playing a good opponent and guys struggling this week, not to mention K. Golladay going down before he scored a point. I expect them to bounce back and these two teams very well may meet again come playoff time! Round 1 advantage goes to Starrfavrerodg!

That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!

XVII – Week 8 Preview

PackerFANatic7 (4-3) vs Pack Attack (0-7)

This is a big opportunity for PackerFANatic7 as they have won 3 of their last 4 games and with a win here they will move to two games over .500 for the first time this season and breathe a little easier as they look to stay in the thick of the playoff race. This is especially important given that their next opponent is U Don’t Know. If they want any chance at competing for a championship this year this is the type of game they need to win!

Prediction:
Check out the Yahoo predictions for this one! Ah.. who am I kidding… PackerFANatic7 should with this one with ease! There is no way they could possibly lose to this 0-7 Pack Attack team that is projected to score under 100pts!
***Yes, I am trying the whole broadcaster jinx thing to see if maybe it works the same for when written in an article?***

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 3
  • Record: Advantage PackerFANatic7 at 2-1
  • PPG Avg: Advantage PackerFANatic7 111.71 vs 105.22

Bossman (4-3) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (3-4)

This is an important game for each of these teams. They both are coming off losses in which they really didn’t have a chance and now they will be looking to get back into the win column. This is a bit of unfamiliar territory for 16hrs as with a win they would move back to .500 and would be very much in the mix for a playoff spot! They have not reached the playoffs since the 2011 season so this is a big deal and a win here against a tough Bossman team would really boost their confidence for the stretch run. Bossman is a mainstay in the playoffs and it seems every year this is right where they are sitting. A tick above .500 and they seem to always find a way into the playoffs. They get Pack Attack next week so if they can get the win here and a win next week, they would go into their showdown with U Don’t Know the week after at 6-3!

Prediction:
For Bossman it is fairly simple right now. They need J. Allen, C. Ridley and D. Cook to perform like they have the first few weeks of the season and then their supporting cast to be ok and they likely win this one! For 16hrs, they have some really good matchups for their key players such as C. Wentz against Dal and A. Brown against Cle and the player that I think keeps them in this game, D. Henderson Jr against MIA. Overall, I see a really good game that will be within 5 points heading into the Monday night game. Bossman has E. Engram and 16hrs Darius Slayton. That Tampa defense is tough and with Shephard back it will limit some of Slayton’s touches so Bossman will squeak out a win thanks to E. Engram getting a garbage time TD.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 14
  • Record: Advantage Bossman at 12-2
  • PPG Avg: Advantage 16hrs 132.58 to 109.48

Rapids Plungers (4-3) vs BIGBOY! (3-4)

As I have stated the past few weeks momentum has been building each week for Rapids Plungers and they are coming off another dominating performance but their is one thing that can put a serious damper on all that momentum and that is bye weeks. Rapids Plungers will be without three players this week (D. Watson, W. Fuller and the new starter in Ari Chase Edmonds). They have a fair amount of depth however it is always hard to replace three starters and pick right back up where they left off. BIGBOY! will take whatever advantage they can at this point as they need a win! They have lost three in a row and four of their last five games. Can Rapids Plungers keep their momentum going or will BIGBOY! find a way to get the much needed win?

Prediction:
There are a couple of question marks related to Rapids Plungers, the first is M. Davis and whether or not C. McCaffrey plays. Clearly if McCaffrey goes then M. Davis value goes down in tonight’s game.***As I am writing this it sounds as though McCaffrey is likely out*** The second is their bye week fill-in QB of Tua Tagavailoa. I think there is the potential for 50+ yards rushing and a couple of TD’s but there is also the potential for 50+ yards, two picks and no TD’s! BIGBOY! Will likely be without C. Carson this week and that will hurt them but I for some reason am thinking that BIGBOY! figures out a way to win this one and stop that momentum at least for this week.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 10
  • Record: Tied at 5-5
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Rapids Plungers 136.60 to 110.96

Big Papa (5-2) vs pack slayer (2-5)

Big Papa is coming off one of the more improbable wins of the season as they only scored 98 points and beat a team that has yet to lose! However, that can bring with it some serious momentum as they just beat what was the top team in the league and they didn’t play even close to their best. Now they get to go up against a pack slayer team that found a way to get the win last week and are once again desperate for another win as they look to inch their way back into the playoff race.

Prediction:
According to Yahoo projections this is going to be your closest game of the week and in looking I guess I can see how this one could be close. I see a fairly simple path for both teams to pull off the win so with that said I am going to go with the team that I trust the most at this point in the season and that is Big Papa. Big Papa gets win #6 on the season and puts a serious dagger to pack slayer’s slim playoff hopes.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 9
  • Record: Advantage Big Papa at 6-3
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Big Papa 122.47 to 113.25

HHH (4-3) vs DaUnderdog (2-5)

Two teams, two losses in a row and of course both of them needing a win. DaUnderdog needing this win to avoid making their already slim playoff hopes even slimmer while HHH needs this one to avoid falling to .500 for the first time all season. HHH has been at or near the top of the league for most of the first 5 weeks but the last two weeks have been tough! Can they figure out a way to get back to their winning ways or will DaUnderdog get some bragging rights with a win here!

Prediction:
It is looking like HHH may be without A. Jones again this week which coincidentally would help DaUnderdog significantly as they J. Williams. In addition, HHH will be without D. Hopkins as he is on a bye week. That doesn’t setup well for a team trying to break a two game winning streak. I see this as being a low scoring game where the winner might not score over 100pts. So I guess, sticking with a bit of the theme for this week I am going to go with DaUnderdog figuring out a way to win this one thanks to boosts from J. Landry (No OBJ), J. Williams (No A. Jones), and L. Bell (Revenge game against former team).

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 17
  • Record: Advantage DaUnderdog at 9-8
  • PPG Avg: Advantage DaUnderdog 111.76 to 109.67

U Don’t Know (6-1) vs Sportsfreak (1-6)

A week ago this looked like a fairly easy win for U Don’t Know but after last week I am not so sure. U Don’t Know once again failing to score over 100 points and Sportsfreak getting their first win of the season while scoring 182 points this suddenly doesn’t look like a slam dunk win for U Don’t Know anymore. This is simple for Sportsfreak, win or your playoff chances are virtually done as their has never been a 6 win team in the history of the league to make the playoffs. For U Don’t Know, this would seem like a get right game. No one has hit the panic button after the last two weeks but if they fail to win this one I think it is time to start re-thinking what we thought we knew about this team after the first 5 weeks which was that it was one of if not the top team in the league.

Prediction:
Sportsfreak will be without Kyler Murray this week who is coming off his best game of the week and they now have a bye. Because of that Sportsfreak pulled off a trade with Big Papa to get J. Garappolo as a bye week fill in. It would be huge if McCaffrey would play this week for Sportsfreak but it sounds like that won’t be happening. Looking at this game, I really like the following players for U Don’t Know: Rodgers against a banged up Vikings secondary, Diggs against NE and D. Henry against CIN! For Sportsfreak the good news is that most of those passes will be going to D. Adams so it is very possible that D. Adams matches or exceeds Rodgers fantasy production. I am just not sure that is enough. I look for U Don’t Know to get back into the win column and send Sportsfreak to another L.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 14
  • Record: Advantage Sportsfreak at 8-6
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Sportsfreak 118.02 to 109.06

teamAlaska (6-1) vs Starrfavrerodg (5-2)

Game of the week! Of all the games this is the one I will be keeping a very close eye on for a number of different reasons. Starrfavrerodg has done an amazing job this year of finding ways to win and their solid record is their to show proof of that. The last box that I want to see them check before I officially consider them a true championship contending team is I want to see them beat a good team and in a shootout! In their 5 wins the most points that their opposing team has scored is 105. In their two losses, the opposing team scored 120 and 185. teamAlaska’s lowest scoring point game of the year came last week at 106pts. This would leave me to believe that for them to win they are going to need more then 105 this week and if they do… well next week you will here me talking about one of the new championship contending teams in the league! For teamAlaska, they have been the best and most consistent team in the league through 7 weeks. They have the most points scored, 100 more then the next closest and had they started B. Cooks instead of A. Miller (0pts) in their five point week 2 loss to U Don’t Know they would be sitting here undefeated! So the two main questions in this one: Is Starrfavrerodg ready to take yet another step in their rookie season and let the league know they are a legitimate championship contending team OR will teamAlaska let them know what a real championship contending team looks like and send them home searching for answers!
Ok – I did my best to hype this game up since it is the game of the week! Now to see who I think is going to win!

Prediction:
R. Wilson vs P. Mahomes. Well that is fun! Two of the most dynamic QB’s in the league. The matchup would tell you that Mahomes vs the Jets is much better then Wilson vs SF however I can’t help but wonder if this is a 20/22 for 280 yards and 2TD kind of performance for Mahomes as KC dominates and the running game becomes a bigger factor in the second half. I am going with Wilson to have the better game. teamAlaska has a huge edge at WR and really the only place I see that Starrfavrerodg may have the edge is the DEF and Flex positions. As you might imagine, I am picking teamAlaska to keep their winning streak going as they get win # 7 on the season!

XVII – Week 7 Recap

Sportsfreak (182.31) vs Pack Attack (93.40)

Wow! Where has this been for 6 weeks is the question as Sportsfreak (1-6) not only got their first win of the season but they did it in impressive fashion by putting up 182 pts. I think what you are seeing is a team in Sportsfreak that probably is not as bad as their record may say. They have scored 841pts this year which is 1 point less then Starrfavrerodg and they are 5-2. Not only that, with the trade they pulled off last week they may now arguably have the best WR and best RB in the league, D. Adams and C. McCaffrey (who could possibly return this week). That lineup is solid but they have a tough last 6 weeks. I will be interested to see if they can string together a couple of wins and make this interesting the rest of the way. For Pack Attack, well they have scored the least amount of points AND they have the most points scored against them. That is a great combination for going 0-7 to start the season! I would say that they now have the opportunity to play role of the spoiler however with the way they are playing I think the only role they will be playing is making their opponents happy as they walk away with a win!

PackerFANatic7 (188.65) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (114.71)

I see you PackerFANatic7! I have been struggling to see this team as much more then a .500 squad and not one of the real contenders in the league but they showed me something this week that I wasn’t sure they had in them which is score more then about 130ish points. This does come with an asterisk because they got a ridiculous amount of points from three players, J. Herbert (40.34pts), J. Robinson (31.83pts) and cap it off with a single player high for the year of 63pts from T. Lockett! Just to make everyone feel good, J Herbert and T. Lockett by themselves would have beat 6 teams in the league this week! So yes this was an impressive week for PackerFANatic7 as they move to 4-3 on the season but I need to see a bit more of a sustainable attack to feel really good about this team and their playoff chances. 16hrs falls to 3-4 on the season as they did what they have all season which is score just over 100 points. You can win a few games doing that and with a little luck you might even be able to hover around .500 but if they want to make a playoff run they are going to need to find a way to start scoring more points then they have the last few weeks!

Big Papa (98.56) vs U Don’t Know (93.23)

U-G-L-Y is the best way that I can describe this game! Big Papa has been known to win some ugly defensive struggles in their time but this one might be the most satisfying as not only did they move to 5-2 on the season but they also sent U Don’t Know (6-1) home with their first loss of the season! This win moved Big Papa all the way to 3rd place in the standings and a win like this against a quality opponent will no doubt have an impact in playoff seeding down the road. Is this team for real? I need to see another week but I am starting to come around. For U Don’t Know I am starting to wonder if I should be concerned? This was a team that two weeks ago their lowest scoring two games were 125 and 143 points. They have a roster that seems to have playmakers all over the place and I had wrote about their depth many times in these articles. Now with back to back weeks failing to score 100 pts I am starting to wonder…. This team is still 6-1 and one of the better teams in the league however I am much less confident now as C. Lamb no longer has D. Prescott throwing him the ball, M. Evans now has A. Brown taking away some targets each week and S. Diggs and the Bills offense suddenly look average. It only takes one solid week for me to remember how good this team has been but for at least this week I am starting to have some questions.

pack slayer (113.67) vs DaUnderdog (87.70)

pack slayer coach has been wheeling and dealing and doing whatever they can to keep their team in contention and they stayed alive for another week as they get the win to move to 2-5 on the season. Those moves didn’t necessarily lead to a direct victory in this one however their coach decided their current team wasn’t performing the way they wanted and decided to make some moves to generate a spark and for one week it did just that. pack slayer has only beaten Pack Attack and now DaUnderdog so I am not yet convinced this is a sign of something but they get a tough Big Papa team next week so we should learn a lot more about this team in the coming week. DaUnderdog may need to look at doing the same thing as pack slayer as they have really struggled the last two weeks and now are 2-5 on the season. They have a crazy tough next 4 weeks so if they want to have any chance this season they better hope these 80pt performances are over with or they will soon find themselves hoping that Pack Attack doesn’t find a way to win a game or two or their fight of trying to salvage their season may turn into a fight of trying to avoid a last place finish!

teamAlaska (149.94) vs BIGBOY! (133.17)

What a game this turned out to be as teamAlaska led by R. Wilson was able to get the win to move to 6-1 on the season and take over the top spot from U Don’t Know. The momentum has been building as they have now won 5 straight games since that loss to U Don’t Know in week 2. Their lowest scoring game of the year was 122.74 points, their top 4 players all have their byes behind them, this is a team that is going to be tough to beat the rest of the way and right now is your top team in the league! BIGBOY! falls to 3-4 on the season but they had a shot here. Injuries to OBJ and C. Carson early on in their games really hurt their chances and now both players will be out. OBJ for the year and Carson is week to week. This feels like a team that is going to struggle to find wins the remainder of the year. They have a good coach who can help keep them afloat but they are going to need some players to step up soon or they are in danger of this season slipping away!

Rapids Plungers (158.13) vs Bossman (100.82)

Do you see it yet? If you don’t then you are not paying that much attention because the defending champ is coming! And they are coming with a vengeance! They just dismantled a good Bossman team (yes I know they are missing some pieces) but I don’t think that would have mattered as Rapids Plungers Coach has their team playing at an extremely high level. You might look at their roster and say well Mike Davis is about to be irrelevant again as C. McCaffrey is set to return and I get it but with the K. Drake injury C. Edmonds is now the starter in Arizona and with the way he has looked I don’t see Drake getting his job back. Edmonds looks like a RB1 the rest of the way. Rapids Plungers moved to 4-3 on the season with this win but right now outside of teamAlaska I don’t think there is a team better. Bossman fell to 4-3 on the season and never really had a chance in this one. They needed a monster game from J. Allen in order to keep pace and they didn’t get it. They will likely get D. Cook back next week after their bye so they should be better moving forward but this is once again going to be one of those years that Bossman and their coach are going to have to work some magic to keep this team in the playoff race until they can get a guy like Ekeler back!

Starrfavrerodg (106.72) vs HHH (99.16)

Just win baby! That is what I am guessing the coach of Starrfavrerodg has been preaching to their team all season because that is exactly what they have done. It hasn’t been pretty but with this win against a quality opponent in HHH they now have a 5-2 record and are just a game back of first place! That is quite the accomplishment for a first year coach and team! I have my reservations about this team and the way at which they won this game doesn’t necessarily change my thoughts or remove some of those reservations. The fact though is that this is a team that has one of the best records in the league through 7 weeks and they will have the chance next week to prove that they belong as they will go up against the top team in the league in teamAlaska. HHH falls to 4-3 on the season and have lost 2 games in a row! This was a tough loss as you would have thought that a healthy A. Jones would have been able to get the 8 points HHH needed for the win! The good news for HHH is that it doesn’t seem like the Jones injury is long term so they should get him back soon but if they lose next week to a desperate DaUnderdog team it might be time to start considering hitting that panic button!

That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!

XVII – Week 7 Preview

Sportsfreak (0-6) vs Pack Attack (0-6)

GAME OF THE WEEK! Right? How could the last two remaining teams that have yet to find a win this season going head to head not be game of the week material!? Well ok… not the Game of the week but a big game for both of these teams as this might be their best shot at a win. What is a bit ironic about this game is that these two teams are #1 and #2 in most regular season wins all time. I am kind of thinking that may change after this season! Sportsfreak did decide enough is enough and basically traded away half of their team in an effort to find a way to start winning. And you know what…. historically speaking there has been many years where a 7-6 team makes the playoffs! So I am saying there is a sliver of hope for the winner of this game…The sliver I am referring to is those super annoying ones that are sooo small that you can’t see but you know they are there because every time you step or brush your hand against something it hurts! I guess we will find out on Tuesday who can still feel the sliver or who got the tweezers out!

16hrs Ahead of You!! (3-3) vs PackerFANatic7 (3-3)

I am looking forward to this one and even though it may not be as high of a profile game as some of the other ones there certainly carries with it a good deal of significance as both teams come into this one with a .500 record and there is something about falling below .500 that always makes you feel like you are one step behind. Well, I guess you kind of are.. but it is not the place you want to be! 16hrs has won two in a row to get to this point while PackerFANatic7 seemingly had things rolling with two straight wins and then Rapids Plungers came to town. This is a good matchup and I am excited to see which team moves above .500 and inches closer to being a part of the top 6! It is also worth mentioning that PackerFANatic7 also got into the trading frenzy as they acquired T. Lockett but they had to give up arguably their top RB in J. Jacobs to do it. Another interesting trade that I will be curious how it works out for each team.

Prediction:
As I am looking at this game, the first thing that came to my mind is that the game between Jacksonville and the Chargers better not get canceled due to COVID as PackerFANatic7 has 5 players going in that game and the majority of them will be relied upon for solid points in order to get the win. I expect this to be a really close game and is probably the hardest game for me to pick. I am however going to go with PackerFANatic7 with one slight asterisk which is if Mixon doesn’t play then I think 16hrs gets the win. For now though I am assuming he plays and PackerFANatic7 moves above .500!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 3
  • Record: Advantage PackerFANatic7 at 2-1
  • PPG Avg: Advantage 16hrs 119.61 to 109.09

teamAlaska (5-1) vs BIGBOY! (3-3)

teamAlaska has been week in and week out proving that they are for real and with last weeks big win over HHH this is the clear cut #2 team in the league and the standings will reflect that as they are the only one loss team in the league. BIGBYOY! is quite the opposite right now as they can’t seem to get much of anything going and last week the wheels seemingly fell off with their worst performance of the year. This is a bad time to be struggling to score points as they are up against a team that through 6 weeks is the highest scoring team in the league. teamAlaska will be looking to keep pace with U Don’t Know and separate themselves from the rest of the field while BIGBOY! will be looking to get back into the playoff mix with a big win here!

Prediction:
Do I think BIGBOY! has a shot in this one? Yes. Do I think they find a way to win? No. Here’s why… R. Wilson and A. Kamara play for the other team! I expect big games from both of them and while I like Zeke against Washington and Julio seems like a strong play against Detroit teamAlaska is too deep and has two many other solid pieces that may not light up the scoreboard but they are consistent. A sneaky good play this week and someone who as I was looking through the matchup sealed the deal for me was B. Cooks in the flex spot. Jaire Alexander is rated as the top CB through 6 weeks and will likely go up against W. Fuller and in a game which you would expect a decent amount of scoring I like B. Cooks to have a big week for teamAlaska. I think they win and I don’t think it is very close.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 10
  • Record: Advantage BIGBOY! at 6-4
  • PPG Avg: Advantage BIGBOY! 137.89 to 112.10

U Don’t Know (6-0) vs Big Papa (4-2)

There are some really good games this week and this is one of them. U Don’t Know is coming off their worst week of the season and will be looking to get some of the scoring momentum back after last weeks dud. They found a way to win and that is the most important part but now they are facing a Big Papa team that had one of their best weeks last week and will be looking to keep things rolling by sending U Don’t Know home with their first L! Doable? Yes. Probable?…..

Prediction:
I am going to have a really hard time picking against U Don’t Know at any point this season but you are seeing a bit of their weakness which is their RB depth. J. Taylor is on a bye which means that C. Thompson will be filling in and that is a big downgrade. However, when your other RB is D. Henry it might not matter who is along side him. I expect a bounceback game from Rodgers this week and U Don’t Know to cruise to their 7th win in a row to start the season.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 14
  • Record: Advantage Big Papa at 9-5
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Big Papa 115.42 to 114.66

DaUnderdog (2-4) vs pack slayer (1-5)

This is a game of two teams that both need a win to keep pace. Of course, just given the records pack slayer needs it a bit more but DaUnderdog seems like a team that is holding on by a thread and I am not sure how much longer they can stay afloat! pack slayer knows there season is on the verge of being over but they won’t go down without a fight and they made some “huge” trades in order to put together a team that they think can win. The problem is that it involved trading away their best player and #1 overall pick in C. McCaffrey but they did get a lot pieces in return which help balance out their roster. The big name player is G. Kittle who has been awesome when on the field. Trades are hard to do in this league but when they happen it is fun to track progress and see how each team benefits from them. pack slayer has lost 4 in a row with their previous team so why not shake it up a bit!?

Prediction:
Just when DaUnderdog finally got a good performance from L. Jackson he then immediately has to go to the bench because he is on a bye. pack slayer by getting rid of McCaffrey in a week he isn’t playing really bolstered their lineup to win right now. I think the trade pays off and they also will be getting back D. Johnson who was playing well prior to his injury. I expect pack slayer to get the win and stop their 4 game losing streak to keep their season alive.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 9
  • Record: Advantage pack slayer at 5-4
  • PPG Avg: Advantage pack slayer 116.02 to 107.96

Bossman (4-2) vs Rapids Plungers (3-3)

This is another one of those “good games” that are on the slate for this week! I have a ton of respect for both of these coaches and how they go about putting a roster together from week to week and it shows up in the standings. Coming into this season these two teams owned the #2 and #3 spots in highest regular season winning percentage and with Pack Attack’s terrible season they just may move to #1 and #2 when this season is over. They both know how to win and once again here they are in another season and both finding ways to win! Rapids Plungers is our defending champion and has one Super win to his name while Bossman has their name on that trophy two times! I am excited to see who comes out on top of this one.

Prediction:
Both teams are dealing with injuries or bye weeks to RB’s as Bossman will be without their top two RB’s, Dalvin Cook (bye) and A. Ekeler (IR). Rapids Plungers will be without M. Sanders (injury) for at least this week. Rapids Plungers will get at least one more week of M. Davis being a top tier RB so they best take advantage of it. J. Allen is in line for a bounceback game against the Jets this week but after that I don’t love the rest of the matchups for Bossman. I think Ridley should have a nice game but R. Woods is up against a tough Bears D and T. Fulgham the star waiver wire pickup is likely going to see a good amount of J. Bradberry who is one of the top CB’s in the league. Think about that… one of the top corners in the league is going to be shadowing who? Travis Fulgham! Either way that doesn’t bode will for Bossman and on the other side of the ball I see a lot of places for points. The entire WR group (including the flex) are guys that are capable of leading a team to victory each week and I actually really like C. Edmonds this week against SEA in a game that Arizona is likely having to throw to keep pace. I am going to go with Rapids Plungers to get the win and continue moving up in the standings!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 12
  • Record: Advantage Rapids Plungers at 7-5
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Rapids Plungers 130.71 to 122.97

HHH (4-2) vs Starrfavrerodg (4-2)

Last week HHH was involved in a game that was at the time the #2 vs #3 team and now a week later they are involved in another good game where it is currently #5 vs #6. I don’t think I need to talk about the importance of this one as the loser likely falls out of playoff positioning while the winner could move as far as the #3 spot and within striking distance of those top two spots which is key come playoff time as #’s one and two get a first round bye.

Prediction:
This should be another good game but the one thing that I think is going to be a problem for HHH is injuries and bye weeks. In particular I am looking at J. Smith and the fact that both M. Andrews and J. Jefferson are on a bye. With that said Starrfavrerodg appears to be at full strength this week and like I mentioned in last week’s wrap up I am intrigued by D. Swift and how Detroit uses him moving forward. I am going with Starrfavrerodg to get the win and continue their great rookie season!
