XVII – Final Four Recap

U Don’t Know (137.02) vs Rapids Plungers (108.68)

U Don’t Know did what no one could do last year and that is take down Rapids Plungers in the playoffs. Our defending champs had a really strong follow up run and had a solid shot at a repeat! However, it is easy to see where things went wrong as they only got 16.75 points from their trio of WR’s. Rapids Plungers will now go home and enjoy that trophy for as long as they can until they have to give it up to the new champion. U Don’t Know was able to get solid production from many players on their team as they had 6 players with 15 or more points this week. That has really been the way this team has been winning as there is not too many weak spots to be found! They are now one win away from their first ever championship!

Bossman (156.50) vs Big Papa (123.86)

Bossman does it again! They became the first team to ever make it back to the Super Bowl the year after losing. This was a different kind of win for them however. Bossman usually wins with more of a team effort but this week they had three players who took things over and led them back to the Super Bowl. Those three players, J. Allen (38.38), C. Ridley (34.15) and D. Cook (26.15) accounted for 63% of their teams scoring this week. Those three players will once again be counted on heavily next week to take home the trophy. Big Papa finishes the season one win away from a super bowl berth however despite a good season and finishing as the #2 seed not winning a playoff game feels disappointing I am sure. However, it doesn’t take away from the great coaching job that Craig from Big Papa did this season finding a way to get this team not just too the playoffs but a first round bye and even in the game this week they fought all the way up to the end. This is back to back seasons in the playoffs for Big Papa so they got some good things going right now but it is time for them to win a championship but unfortunately for them they are going to have to wait until at least next season to realize that goal!

XVII – Final Four Preview

We are down to the Final Four teams! Could we see for the first time ever a Super Bowl rematch of Rapids Plungers vs Bossman? Will the top seeds in U Don’t Know and Big Papa come out on top and guarantee we will have a first time champion? What a great week this is going to be and I can’t wait to see who comes out on top and books their ticket to the Super Bowl.

(1) U Don’t Know vs (5) Rapids Plungers

U Don’t Know is back in the playoffs for only their third time in their 15th season in the league. That isn’t a great number but when they make the playoffs they usually are one of the favorites to win it all. In 2007 they made the playoffs with a 11-3 record and finished as the #2 overall seed. That was their best year as they made it all the way to the Super Bowl before losing by 25 in the big game. In 2018 they made the playoffs as the #1 overall seed and lost in the first round to the #6 seeded pack slayer team. Now here we are in 2020 and once again U Don’t Know is the #1 overall seed and trying to do what they couldn’t the previous two years and that is win their first ever championship. Rapids Plungers knows all about chasing that elusive first championship as it took them in their 12th year before they got their first one. Now that they have it though they are not satisfied and they are trying to become the 5th team in league history to win back to back championships! So does U Don’t Know find a way to get back to the big game or does Rapids Plungers continue their recent dominance and move one win away from back to back titles!

Prediction:
We start with the QB position. Both teams have top tier QB’s and if you look back at the draft the one big thing that stands out is where they were drafted. D. Watson (Rapids Plungers) was taken in the 4th round while A. Rodgers (U Don’t Know) was snagged in the 7th. Rodgers on the season has 50 more points then Watson and this allowed U Don’t Know to add a few more pieces in the early rounds of the draft. For this week, Watson is always dangerous and the good news for Rapids Plungers is that he is capable of a 40 point game at any given time. What I don’t like this week is the matchup against the Colts along with the fact that ever since W. Fuller was lost for the season Watson has been averaging only 14.63 points per game. Rodgers on the other hand has been Mr. consistent this season. Outside of his 0.13 point performance against TB in week 6 and his 18.30 performance in week 2 against Det he has scored over 22 points in every other game this season including four 30 point weeks. I think there is a fairly clear edge for U Don’t Know at the QB position this week.
Now let’s move to the WR positions which should be a lot of fun. We have T. Hill (Rapids Plungers) who finished as the #2 scoring WR this season and then you have DK Metcalf and S. Diggs for U Don’t Know who both of them finished right behind hill as the #3 and #4 WR’s in the league. So if we stopped right there you can start to see why U Don’t Know is in the position they are as the #1 overall seed. They have the #2 ranked QB in the league to go along with the #3 and #4 ranked WR’s. Obviously just those two guys for U Don’t Know give them a huge advantage but T. Hill is the ultimate wild card in a win or go home type of game you want him on your side. On paper though this looks like a another relatively strong edge for U Don’t Know and their trio of WR’s.
Now to the RB position. I mentioned just a bit ago it is easy to see why U Don’t Know was the top overall seed given they have the #2 overall QB, the #3 and #4 WR’s AND just for good measure let’s now add the #2 overall RB in D. Henry. This team is loaded. I do like both M. Sanders and M. Davis (who by the way will go down as the top waiver wire pick up of the year) but D. Henry is too good and the team Henry is up against is allowing on average 25.39 points to RB’s this season. That is the worst in the league. Also, I didn’t even mention that J. Taylor for U Don’t Know is really starting to come on strong and he will be going up against a Texans defense that is right behind Detroit and gives up the 2nd most points to opposing RB’s at 24.88 avg points. The RB position also goes to U Don’t Know.
Ok, to the TE position. Rapids Plungers will have a new starter in C. Kmet this week. Kmet has looked good the past two weeks with 7 targets in each game but putting an unproven rookie in a big spot like this and expecting him to perform is asking a lot. This is U Don’t Know’s weakest position but then again it was and is only a strength for maybe two teams this year. Even though it is their weakest position their TE TJ Hockenson finished the season as the #3 TE in the league. He was however 60 points behind the #2 position so I guess you could say he was the best of the worst. There is a potential interesting development here and that is G. Kittle. Yes, Rapids Plungers snagged Kittle from the FA pool. If Kittle somehow surprises everyone and plays this week that is a HUGE development and Rapids Plungers chances of winning would go up drastically. I have been reaching out to my sources to get a sense for if he is going to play and as of right now we don’t have any definitive answer but it looks like next week seems like a more realistic chance of him playing. All that said, I am thinking I am going to ride the Kmet train on this one and I have him outscoring Hockenson 9 to 8. Rapids Plungers with the slight edge at TE.
Lastly, the Flex position. Both teams have solid players here which isn’t always the case. Dobbins (Rapids Plungers) has turned into a legitimate fantasy play each week while Evans despite having a down year still has 11 TD’s and is a legitimate threat each week. I expect this one to be close but I think Evans has the better game. I am going to give U Don’t Know the edge here too.
Like last week I picked most of the position battles to favor Rapids Plungers opponent. The difference between last week and this week is that last week I felt most of them were really close and I could have easily went with Rapids Plungers. The reason I picked Rapids Plungers last week is because I felt their WR group was far superior and was going to make up the difference. This week I picked mostly U Don’t Know to win the positional battles and I don’t see them as relatively close. The potential is there for Rapids Plungers as they have some home run hitters but I think they are going to need Watson and T. Hill to have monster games if they want to come out on top. I see U Don’t Know winning this one and moving on to their second Super Bowl appearance.

(2) Big Papa vs (3) Bossman

Big Papa is rested and ready to go coming off the first round bye. Big Papa is a somewhat regular in the playoffs as this is their 7th playoff berth in this their 17th year in the league. They have had success throughout the regular season and they even have had some success when they make the playoffs but what they haven’t been able to do is finish it off with a championship. They came close in 2016 when they finished as the #2 seed and made it to the Super Bowl only to get embarrassed with a 60 point loss. They are hoping this season is different and they can finally get their name on that trophy. It won’t be easy as they go up against a Bossman team that seems to be hitting their stride at just the right time! Throughout the history of the league this Bossman team has continually found ways to not only have successful regular seasons but then turn those into championship years. They have made the playoffs in 9 of their 14 seasons and made the Super Bowl in 4 of those 9 playoff seasons. They have won 2 championships and will be looking to become just the third team in league history with 3 or more championships. They also are only a win away from tying Pack Attack for the most postseason wins of all time! And if that isn’t enough let’s add one more thing. No team in league history has ever loss the Super Bowl and the next year made it back to the Super Bowl. Lots of historical items at stake with a Bossman win!

Prediction:
Let’s first take a look at the QB position. We have B. Mayfield (Big Papa) vs J. Allen (Bossman). Bossman has had Allen at QB all year and he has been great. He finished as the #4 QB in the league and has been a big part of Bossman’s success as of late. For Big Papa, they have been rotating QB’s all season as soon as they lost Prescott for the year in week 5. Prescott was on pace for an historic season from a production perspective before he got hurt and you can’t help but wonder how even better things could have been for Big Papa. Big Papa will be starting Mayfield for just the 3rd time all season but he seems to be the hot hand and they are going to try and ride it. Mayfield has been good but I don’t see that continuing like it has been. I think Allen and Bossman have a solid edge at the QB position.
It is odd to see a Bossman led team that isn’t stacked at WR. In years past it was usually a given that Bossman would win this position but this year is a bit different. They still have a solid trio as both R. Woods and C. Ridley are borderline top 10 plays this week but I would not call them confident top 10 plays. On the other side for Big Papa, it isn’t better as both Claypool and D. Parker have upside but they also don’t scare you that much and T. Higgins has lost a lot of value ever since Burrow went down to injury. I am more confident in Bossman’s WR’s this week then I am Big Papa. I am giving the edge at WR to Bossman.
Now let’s move to the RB position. This is where Bossman has the upper hand from all of the remaining four teams (U Don’t Know may be close). They are starting both D. Cook who finished as the #1 overall RB in the league and A. Ekeler who had he not been hurt early in the season likely finishes in the top 5. This week both Cook and Ekeler are top 5 RB plays and are capable of leading any team in a must win situation. Big Papa can’t compete with that. They have two solid RB’s in Melvin Gordon and C. Edwards-Helaire but to put it into perspective both Gordon and Edwards-Helaire’s combined point total of 268.72 is still behind D. Cook’s total for the year which is 293.23. Bossman with the big edge at RB.
Let’s take a look at the TE position. This is where Big Papa has a significant mismatch against all of the remaining teams. D. Waller (Big Papa) has been phenomenal and finished as the #2 TE in the league. Bossman TE, E. Engram seemingly has the skills to be a top tier TE however only two times this year has he scored in double digits. The TE position is a huge edge to Big Papa.
Lastly, the Flex spot. McKissic has been a pleasant surprise for Bossman these last few weeks as since week 9 he has been averaging right at that 10 point range. Big Papa is going with K. Drake in the flex. Drake seemingly hasn’t been as good as what some thought he might be this season but he has been solid. He finished as the 15th best RB in the league despite missing some action. I like Drake this week and I think Big Papa has the edge at the flex position.
So who wins? I know that Big Papa is the #2 seed and they are there for a reason but it really seems like this is Bossman’s game to lose. Come playoff time you are looking for those difference makers who can lead you to victory and I see more for Bossman then I do Big Papa. I think Bossman wins this one and gets back to the Super Bowl for the 2nd straight year.

XVII – Wild Card Weekend Recap

Rapids Plungers (154.14) vs Starrfavrerodg (90.30)

And the defending champs are moving on!! Rapids Plungers moved to the Final Four as they come away with a convincing 64 point win over Starrfavrerodg. Basically, this was Rapids Plungers saying “Welcome to the playoffs, rook!”. For Starrfavrerodg they picked a terrible time to have their worst week of the season but despite the loss it doesn’t take away the fact that they had a great rookie campaign and one that they can build on. No one expects a rookie coach and team to come in and dominate but there was a point in time (not that long ago) that this team was the top team in the league by record. They are going to need to figure out how to finish off a season strong but this was a good start. Rapids Plungers got great production from so many players this week to help lead them to victory. They had four positions score over 21 points and another three positions over 10. If Wild Card Weekend was any indication of what’s to come the defending champs are going to be a hard to beat these next two weeks! Rapids Plungers moves on to take on the #1 overall team in U Don’t Know.

Bossman (131.31) vs teamAlaska (128.15)

Wow! This one lived up to the hype of a playoff game as both teams came to play! Adding to the drama is that this came down to the Sunday night game and the play of Bossman’s star QB Josh Allen and teamAlaska’s flex play in D. Singletary. It wasn’t exactly pretty or convincing but Allen got the job done and moved Bossman to the next round thanks to his 16.63 points. Singletary unfortunately continued to disappoint for teamAlaska as he only scored 3.23 points! Anytime you have a margin of victory this close it is always interesting to look at the “what if’s” and for teamAlaska there were two guys on their bench (J. Graham and their defensive backup M. Humphrey) who if either one of those players were in the starting lineup this week teamAlaska would be the one moving on not Bossman. This was a good season for teamAlaska though as they broke the streak of 8 straight years without a playoff berth! So even though it didn’t end the way they were hoping for just getting that monkey off their back has to feel good! Bossman moves on and will now get to play the #2 overall seed in Big Papa!

XVII – Wild Card Weekend Preview

The Keepers Fantasy Football XVI playoffs are about to begin! Congratulations to the 6 teams that qualified! Rapids Plungers (defending champ), Bossman and teamAlaska are looking to add another championship to their resume while U Don’t Know, Big Papa and Starrfavrerodg are looking for their first ever championship! It is setting up to be a great playoffs and let’s get to the previews to see who comes out on top this week!

(3) Bossman vs (6) teamAlaska

For some reason, the 3 vs 6 matchup in the playoffs is always one of my favorites. Why? Because usually the 6 seed is a team that had to scrape and claw their way into the playoffs. Maybe they had to run off a few wins in a row to get in or maybe they found a way to pull off that upset in the last couple of weeks. Either way, they usually have some momentum. This year is a bit different as teamAlaska did none of those things. Didn’t scrape and claw their way in, didn’t have a upset win to push them into the playoffs and don’t have momentum on their side. I think of it kind of like someone trying to get in shape. In the beginning they are committed and motivated to getting in shape, they push themselves and they start seeing the results (teamAlaska 6-1 record to start the season). Maybe they start seeing that six pack show up and maybe those love handles become less lovely or maybe the arms become bigger and stronger! People are noticing and commenting on how good you look but then something happens. The work becomes less fun as your gains aren’t as noticeable. People stop commenting and get used to this new you. Your motivation to succeed in this “get in shape” journey starts waning and next thing you know you find yourself sitting on the couch watching football and eating Doritos while all your work from the previous weeks slowly starts going down the drain! Well teamAlaska has been in the sitting on the couch eating Doritos portion of that analogy for the last 6 weeks of the season (1-5 record). Thankfully for them they now have the opportunity to get back to their winning ways and make everyone forget about this little lull to end the season. The playoffs are an entirely new season for those that make it and I am sure teamAlaska will be ready for this one. For Bossman, the teams that they put on the field each and every week tend to have one thing in common and that is consistency. A lot of that has to do with coaching and their coach Steve Boss is one of the best in the league. Bossman can chalk 2020 up as another solid coaching performance and a solid regular season. However, I know that having a good regular season and making the playoffs is not the primary goal for this team. They play to win championships. Bossman came close last year as they made it to the Super Bowl but they then were humbled by Rapids Plungers and a 60 point blowout. I know that didn’t sit well with them and they are on a mission this year to become just the third team in league history to have three or more championships. This should be a good game and let’s get to the preview to see who comes out on top!

Prediction:
The QB position in this one is interesting. J. Allen for Bossman has had a solid year and is coming off one of his best games of the season. R. Wilson for teamAlaska is coming off one of his worst games of the season. It is quite easy to see why teamAlaska started off so strong and the play of R. Wilson was a huge part of that. Through the first seven games, R. Wilson was averaging 32.34 ppg and teamAlaska won six of those games. In his last 5 games he has averaged only 13.42 ppg. That is a huge discrepancy and a major reason for teamAlaska’s slide to end the season. Naturally you would think given what I just wrote that J. Allen and Bossman have the edge but there is one problem this week. The matchup. R. Wilson gets the winless Jets while J. Allen is up against the one loss Steelers. This is a bit of a toss up but I think I am going to give the edge to Bossman and J. Allen. I think R. Wilson has a good game and Sea wins however this might be a game in which Wilson doesn’t have to do much and it becomes a 200 yard rushing game for Sea and their RB’s. The edge at QB goes to Bossman.
The WR position is very close and I expect some fireworks here. The top two receivers (K. Allen and C. Ridley) for both teams will be going against each other on the field as the Chargers host Atlanta. I expect a blow up game for K. Allen this week as over the past three games he has been averaging 13 targets a game. In the last two games, he hasn’t had much to show for it but after last weeks terrible loss to NE I expect them to rebound with a really good effort here. If this game turns into a shootout which it seems like it could then that would benefit the other receiver in C. Ridley for Bossman. Ridley also has been solid this season but outside of the first two weeks he hasn’t scored more then 19pts and a lot of that has to to with the fact that he has a really good “other” WR on the team in J. Jones. The other two WR’s for both teams are formidable and serve as good role players but I think Allen’s big game is enough to give teamAlaska the edge at the WR position.
The RB position on paper seems a bit easier as you could easily make the argument that D. Cook (Bossman) and A. Kamara (teamAlaska) are the two best RB’s in the league. The reality is that D. Cook has been the best RB in the league and it isn’t really even that close. He has scored 273 points in only 11 games while the next closest are D. Henry (232) and A. Kamara (231) but they both have played in 12 games. Bossman also has recently got back A. Ekeler who if healthy all season likely is in the top 5. teamAlaska’s 2nd RB is Gurley and well that is no comparison to Ekeler at this point. So Bossman with the huge edge right? Well, there is one thing that doesn’t bode well for Bossman and that is D. Cook is up against the TB defense this week. The most rushing yards TB has allowed to a single running back all season was 59 and that was C. McCaffrey who it took 18 carries to get there. TB defense has only allowed over 20 points two times this season and that was C. McCaffrey who had two TD’s and in week one and also A. Kamara who had 12 carries for 16 yards but he also got in the end zone twice. If that holds true this week then Cook is likely going to need to get into the end zone for him to get the points Bossman is used to seeing. I still trust Cook and Ekeler over Kamara and Gurley. I am giving Bossman the edge.
Now let’s move to the TE position. E. Engram has been solid for Bossman and I expect Goedert to lose more touches this week to Ertz in his second game back. The edge here goes to Bossman.
At the FLEX spot, Bossman is rolling with the boom or bust player in J. McKissic and the same could be said for teamAlaska’s D. Singletary. I actually kind of like McKissic in this one he should see a boost in touches with Gibson likely out and may even find himself as the starting RB. Singletary has some upside here like he does in most weeks because he has homerun play ability however I don’t see it this week against a tough Steelers D. I like Bossman to have the edge in this one.
So who wins the game and moves on to the Final Four!?
I am going with Bossman as I trust the way that their team is playing right now. I see a very easy way for teamAlaska to pull off the upset and it involves Wilson, Allen and Kamara having big games which clearly they are all capable of doing. Bossman though is my pick to move on!

(4) Starrfavrerodg vs (5) Rapids Plungers

The defending champ is back as Rapids Plungers is back in the tournament after taking home their first ever championship a season ago! This season didn’t come without adversity and some ups and downs but like all good teams and managers do they weathered the storm and here they are just three wins away from repeating as champs! Their road to the championship did get a bit rockier as they recently lost one of their top WR’s in W. Fuller for the season. Who was the 9th ranked WR at the time of his suspension. This puts a lot of pressure on the rest of the team to make up that scoring. For Starrfavrerodg this is an exciting week as they try to do something no rookie coach has ever done and that is win a championship in their first season. Throughout the regular season they defied the odds and won games they weren’t supposed to win and showed tremendous poise and leadership as they were breezing through the league making all of us veterans wonder what we were missing! Then Week 11 happened and along with it three straight losses to close out the season. This isn’t unusual as most teams hit some type of lull throughout the season the thing I am sure Starrfavrerodg is disappointed in is that they weren’t able to stop the losing streak in the regular season and they missed out on the opportunity for a first round bye. That’s about it though for negatives as this team in their rookie season has been spectacular and now here they are in the playoffs with a shot to take home the trophy! Will Rapids Plungers be able to pull off the win and keep alive their hopes of defending their title or will Starrfavrerodg add a staple win to their already impressive rookie season?

Prediction:
Let’s first take a look at the QB position. We have Mr. Quarterback himself in P. Mahomes (Starrfavrerodg) against D. Watson (Rapids Plungers) who isn’t too shabby himself. These are the two highest paid quarterbacks in the NFL which would mean they are young and they are good and they are capable of leading their team to a championship in the real game so why not in fantasy football as well? If there is any QB that *could* go throw for throw or TD for TD with Mahomes Watson would be on that list however I don’t see it happening this week. I think Mahomes and Starrfavrerodg have the edge here.
Now to the WR position, Rapids Plungers was deep at WR but lost some of that depth when Fuller was lost for the season. They still have one of the best trios in the playoffs with Boyd, Hill and Cooper. How much better would that group just mentioned look if all of them had their starting QB’s throwing them the ball? Starrfavrerodg has a formidable group especially since Crowder has emerged as a boom or bust type of player. What I mean before that I didn’t even see him as a boom opportunity but he has proven that he is capable of a 20 point game. The edge here easily goes to Rapids Plungers and I think it is worth pointing out that Mahomes (Starrfavrerodg) will be throwing to T. Hill (Rapids Plungers). If Mahomes has a big game you would think Hill may be the benefactor and that usually is an advantage to the WR in points. For example, two weeks ago Mahomes threw for 462 yards and 3 TD which led to 37.11 points. In that same game Mahomes was throwing a lot to T. Hill who had a 13 catches for 269 yards and three of those touchdowns which led to 64.45 points! I think the WR edge goes to Rapids Plungers and by how much may determine the outcome of this game!
To the RB’s we go where both teams are very similar. They each have two solid RB’s going this week which probably rank somewhere in the top 20ish range. They have the potential to have a big game and finish in the top ten but that isn’t the expectation this week. All of them have tougher matchups so there isn’t even one of them that benefits the most from a cupcake type of game. Given how poor the Steelers backfield looked without Conner (Starrfavrerodg) I am going to expect him back and to get a ton of work whereas I think we may see a bit more “Taysom-hill” like offense from the Eagles with Hurts starting. This means potentially less carries for Sanders (Rapids Plungers). I will give the edge to Starrfavrerodg in this one.
To the TE position and we have H. Hurst (Rapids Plungers) vs L. Thomas (Starrfavrerodg). This is one of those where whatever you get out of the position you take it and if somehow one of these TE’s has a game like L. Thomas just did (19.90pts) it could be a huge difference maker. I haven’t see anything from H. Hurst which makes me expect much more then the usual 5-7 point game so I guess I am going with L. Thomas and Starrfavrerodg with the edge here.
And lastly the Flex position, this is where Rapids Plungers was able to most of the season take their deep WR core and create a mismatch as they could start four extremely capable WR’s. This is where you see the W. Fuller loss trickle effect as instead of starting Fuller, Boyd, Hill or Cooper here they are left with G. Davis. Davis has actually been decent the last couple of weeks so there is potential there. Starrfavrerodg is waiting on pins and needles hoping that they can put D. Swift into their lineup this week against a Packers D that has been bad against the run. If they can’t then they are left with two not so great other options and it looks a lot different. Given that it seems Swift will play I am going to give the edge to Starrfavrerodg here too.
So who wins? Well if I look at my position predictions Starrfavrerodg has a 4-1 edge so they should win right? Not so fast. The edge’s are slight at the RB / TE and FLEX positions. A bit bigger at QB for Starrfavrerodg BUT the WR group and specifically the fact that Mahomes is throwing to Hill. If you are Starrfavrerodg that is a hard one to overcome and you have to hope that all of the TD’s and yards go to some other WR. All that said, I am having a hard time picking against the defending champs. This is anyone’s game and I am excited to see who comes out on top but for picking purposes I am going with Rapids Plungers to get the win!

XVII – Week 13 Recap

Pack Attack (128.25) vs teamAlaska (103.32)

Pack Attack (4-9) gets win #4 on the season and finishes the season winning three of their last four! They will be looking to build on that momentum and hopefully carry it over into next season. For teamAlaska (7-6), they finished off the season losing five of their last six games and yet they STILL made the playoffs! At this point I think teamAlaska will take it however they can as this is their first playoff berth since the 2011 season. They had went 8 straight years without a playoff berth and now all that is history as they are back and looking for championship #2!

U Don’t Know (127.70) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (116.34)

U Don’t Know (9-4) starting in Week 3 was being talked about as a team that had the right pieces to be one of the top teams in the league and then after six weeks they had yet to lose a game. They struggled a bit in the second half of the season going 3-4 in their final 7 games however here they are with this win sitting as the #1 overall seed. They are clearly one of the favorites to win it all! 16hrs (5-8) can’t find a way to get the win in this one but they showed something this year that we haven’t seen in years past and that is they fought all the way up to the very end. Even in this game when they had nothing to play for they didn’t get the win but they did make a game of it. That’s the positive side. In the not so positive side of things, it has now been a decade since they have had their last winning season or made the playoffs. That ties the all time record set by U Don’t Know. There you go 16hrs.. your motivation for next season.

Big Papa (151.99) vs Sportsfreak (115.63)

Wow! What an improbable run Big Papa (9-4) has been on these last 5 weeks! This is a team that 5 weeks ago was 5-3 and although a good team there were not many people listing them up there with the top teams in the league. Fast forward to today and they just finished up the last 5 games of the season on a 4-1 run and find themselves not only in the playoffs but finishing as the #2 seed and enjoying a first round bye! That is impressive Big Papa! You know it is always said it’s not how you start but how you finish and they have finished as one of the top teams in the league and now are two wins away from their first ever championship. Well done! For Sportsfreak (3-10) you thought things couldn’t get a whole lot worse but somehow in the last week of the season they figured out a way to make things a little bit worse! With their loss and Pack Attack’s win, Sportsfreak takes over and will finish in last place in the league this year! A tough ending to an already tough season!

HHH (146.98) vs BIGBOY! (124.45)

The last four weeks we saw once again the HHH (7-6) team that started off the season 4-1 and looked like one of the better ones in the league. It is hard though to make the playoffs when you have a stretch where you lose four games in a row and that is what happened to HHH as they went 0-4 in weeks 6-9. Had they found a way to win one of those games they would be in the playoffs right now! This is a good team that hit some tough luck and unfortunately for them they will be left playing for a consolation round championship to prove they are the 7th best team in the league! 🙂 BIGBOY! loses another game and finishes their season out at 5-8. This will be the first time in their now 11 seasons in this league that they have missed the playoffs in back to back years. Better luck next year BIGBOY!

Bossman (157.51) vs Starrfavrerodg (110.23)

Bossman (8-5) did what they are known for and that is taking care of business when it counts. They were hoping for a little help so that they could snag that they could sneak into one of the top two spots but that fell through so they finish off at #3. They are now back in the playoffs and ready to avenge their Super Bowl loss from a year ago. Starrfavrerodg (8-5) loses their 3rd straight game but all that is history now as they finish off their rookie campaign with an impressive 8 wins and a playoff berth. I know they are happy with their regular season (minus the last three weeks) but now is when the real fun begins and they are out to win a championship. We will see both of these teams in action next week as the first round of the playoffs begin!

DaUnderdog (112.07) vs PackerFANatic7 (65.01)

I have to say I am impressed with the way DaUnderdog (6-7) finished out their season. They won three of their last four games and finished it off with an impressive win over a team that was fighting for their playoff lives. Nicely done DaUnderdog. For PackerFANatic7 (7-6) they picked a terrible time to have their worst week of the season. I am not sure if it was the pressure that got to them but the only person who came to play this week was J. Robinson and he is an undrafted rookie! Everything was there for the taking as all they needed to do was win and they were in thanks to losses by teamAlaska and Rapids Plungers but they couldn’t get it done. They will now be left playing the “what if” game for an entire year and will miss the playoffs for the third straight year. Both these teams will however be playing in the Consolation round so they will be trying to prove they are the best of the rest!

pack slayer (141.92) vs Rapids Plungers (101.12)

This has been a bit of a frustrating year for pack slayer (6-7) as their team would look great one week and then awful the next. pack slayer coach Jared W just couldn’t get his team to show any type of consistency and that was what cost them a playoff spot this year. They did come out and play well this week and dominated a Rapids Plungers (7-6) team that last week put up a record 241 points. I am not sure if that makes it even more of a frustrating year for pack slayer as they feel like they should be one of the 6 but the fact of the matter is they aren’t and now they like eight other teams will be left trying to figure out how to get back to the playoffs next season. For Rapids Plungers (7-6) this has been an interesting year. They started off the season slow by losing three of their first four games but they moved back into the playoff race by going 4-1 the next five weeks only to finish off the season at 7-6. At the end of the day, this is the defending champion, they are in the playoffs and they have showed that they can get hot at any time! Even though this season maybe hasn’t gone exactly as planned they now are in a position to win three more games and defend their title! Not much more you could ask for!

That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!

Final week of the season and it’s going to be WILD!

Yeah.. about that! The playoff scenarios are crazy….as I am sure you can imagine considering not one team has officially clinched a playoff spot! So I am going to let each of you look at your team and figure out what needs to happen for you to get in the playoffs. Let me give you a hint… you might want to win!

Now to the previews for the week!

Pack Attack (3-9) vs teamAlaska (7-5)

This game means everything for teamAlaska and absolutely nothing for Pack Attack. It is simple for teamAlaska they need to win and they are all but assured a playoff spot thanks to having scored 120 more points then PackerFANatic7. They really have struggled these past 5 weeks going 1-4 during that span and they need this week to get some momentum back and not only that oddly enough they still have a realistic shot at one of those first round byes! The playoffs start now for teamAlaska! I am sure that Pack Attack would rather see his brother who coaches teamAlaska in the playoffs then someone else but there is also something to be said about closing out the season winning three of their last 4 games. What is interesting is that this will be the first time all season that they are 100% healthy and starting the top guys that they drafted way back in August. With that said, this is their last game of the year and playing against their brother who happens to be a playoff team right now….yeah, I think this is Pack Attack’s super bowl!

Prediction:
Check out the Yahoo predictions for this one!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 17
  • Record: Advantage Pack Attack at 10-7
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Pack Attack 125.56 vs 113.25

U Don’t Know (8-4) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (5-7)

Another game where it means everything to one team and really nothing for the other. U Don’t Know needs this win and it isn’t about the playoffs! Technically, they have yet to officially clinch a playoff berth but if you look at their points scored it almost impossible for them not to get in. So I am going to consider them as having clinched a playoff berth. The importance of this game is that first round bye! The path to the Super Bowl is a bit easier if they can get the win here. 16hrs saw their season officially come to an end with their loss last week however I am sure they will do whatever they can to get the win and get win #6 on the season. It would be a great way to cap off a solid season by taking down the #1 seeded team!

Prediction:
Week 13 bye? Ugh.. not a great week for one of your star WR’s to be on a bye when you are fighting for playoff positioning but that is what U Don’t Know is dealing with as M. Evans is on a bye this week. The good news is that they have the rest of their lineup in tact and I think that is going to be enough. I expect D. Henry, DK Metcalf and S. Diggs to pick up the slack and lead U Don’t Know to win #9, a first round bye and the #1 overall seed in the playoffs!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 14
  • Record: Tied at 7-7
  • PPG Avg: Advantage U Don’t Know 101.84 to 100.44

Big Papa (8-4) vs Sportsfreak (3-9)

The third game in a row where it means everything to one team and nothing to the other. This time it is Big Papa that has everything to gain with this win and Sportsfreak who has nothing to play for other then making sure their name isn’t showing up as in last place in the league! Big Papa has made an improbable run all the way to the #2 seed and now they need a win and not only would they likely get the first round bye but they also have a shot at the #1 overall seed with a U Don’t Know loss! Crazy! The best part about this is that it is a Father-Son matchup so even though I said there isn’t much for Sportsfreak to play for (and there isn’t) but beating their Dad and making sure he doesn’t get that first round bye would be kind of fun I am sure! So who wins this one?

Prediction:
I think this one is setting up to be a good game. I think that Sportsfreak has the two players with the highest ceilings in K. Murray and D. Adams but I can see Big Papa getting production from a number of different guys. Sportsfreak seems to find ways to lose while Big Papa seems to find ways to win. Will that be the case this week? I kind of think so however I need to pick an upset somewhere and this looks like it might be the game. I am going to give Sportsfreak their 4th win here.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 19
  • Record: Advantage Sportsfreak at 12-7
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Sportsfreak 118.68 to 110.07

HHH (6-6) vs BIGBOY! (5-7)

HHH needs to break a record this week, a record that was just set last week by Rapids Plungers. That record they need to break is they need to have the single highest scoring week ever, they need to win and they need at least two of the 7 win teams ahead of them to lose! If all that happens then they MAYBE make the playoffs! Yes, I know the chances of those all happening are super slim and that has to be disappointing for HHH. All that you need to do is look at weeks 7-9 and you see why this team is likely going to miss the playoffs. In Weeks 7-9 they lost all three weeks but the most points that their opponent scored in those weeks was 107.26 points. This means that all of those games were very winnable games. HHH in those same three games averaged only 85 points. They find a way to win one of those games and this game takes on a whole different meaning. For BIGBOY! this will be their 2nd straight year missing the playoffs after their back to back championship seasons in 17 and 18. Better luck next year BIGBOY!

Prediction:
BIGBOY! will be without T. Brady in this one as he is on a bye so that means they will be picking up a QB from the stellar list of available free agent QB’s. I think this could turn out to be a good game but it seems to be me that BIGBOY! is somewhat checked out and HHH has at least something to play for. HHH with the win to get to win #7 on the season.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 10
  • Record: Tied at 5-5
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Bossman 131.43 to 125.52

PackerFANatic7 (7-5) vs DaUnderdog (5-7)

PackerFANatic7 has climbed and clawed their way all the way back into playoff contention and here we are in the final week of the season with them needing a win and a little bit of help to get in. They are behind all 6 teams ahead of them with regards to tie-breakers and hence the reason they are at # 7 right now. They will be rooting hard for some underdogs and Starrfavrerodg to help them out this week. Speaking of underdogs, DaUnderdog will be an underdog again this week but they will be looking to close out their season on a winning note. With a win here they would have won three of their last four games and they would likely put an end to PackerFANatic7’s playoff hopes.

Prediction:
In the games that DaUnderdog has won this season most of them they were in fact the underdog so nothing is out of the realm of possibility however this game means too much for PackerFANatic7 that I can’t see them losing. Look for PackerFANAtic7 to get the win and put a lot of pressure on all of those other 7 win teams!
***One thing interesting to note here is that PackerFANatic7 has never beaten DaUnderdog and DaUnderdog has averaged an impressive 139ppg in their three meetings so far***

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 3
  • Record: Advantage DaUnderdog at 3-0
  • PPG Avg: Advantage DaUnderdog 139.90 to 122.77

Rapids Plungers (7-5) vs pack slayer (5-7)

Rapids Plungers is coming off a historic game last week which was for sure impressive however they still have one last piece of business to take care of if they want to defend their title and that is they need to win this week! pack slayer’s season was officially ended in dramatic fashion last week however the reality is that they likely wouldn’t have made it in anyway. So now they are left to play the role of spoiler. It would seem unlikely that Rapids Plungers would miss out on the playoffs but technically if all the other 7 win teams win and they lose. Well then, they would be left to trying to win the consolation round championship! On the flip side, they get the win and there is a chance that they get a first round bye and even finish as the #1 seed. Once again another game with a lot at stake!

Prediction:
I came into this one thinking that Rapids Plungers should roll and get a rather easy win but then I remembered something that I hadn’t mentioned yet and that was the fact that Rapids Plungers lost W. Fuller for the season because of substance abuse and M. Davis is on a bye. Suddenly this team looks a bit more vulnerable. I do think that they find a way to win this one. Watson, Hill and M. Sanders should all have solid games and I think solid should be enough to lead them to victory. I don’t expect a shootout or for Rapids to get anywhere near their record setting performance from a week ago but I think they hit right around their projected 110 and I expect that to be enough in this one.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 9
  • Record: Advantage pack slayer at 5-4
  • PPG Avg: Advantage pack slayer 131.12 to 112.21

Starrfavrerodg (8-4) vs Bossman (7-5)

Game of the Week! Yep, this is it! Just about every game this week has significance to one team but this is the only one this week that has significance to BOTH teams. You would think that a #3 seeded team with one week to play is all but a lock to make the playoffs… well there is one problem that #3 seeded team has the 2nd lowest amount of points scored amongst the 7 teams vying for a playoff spot and they are only ahead of PackerFANatic7 by 20 points. This means that they do not want to have to win any tiebreaker scenarios as they likely won’t! They need this win! For Bossman, their points are solid as they have scored the third most in the league the big difference here is that with a loss the tie breaker may not matter and they may find themselves out of the playoffs altogether OR with a win they could see themselves move all the way up to the top spot in the league! This one is going to be good!

Prediction:
As of this writing I am not 100% sure who the starting RB is going to be for Starrfavrerodg. I am guessing they are going to go with F. Gore or for the sake of this preview that is what I will assume. Starrfavrerodg is going to be without two big weapons and a third solid role player as J. Conner (COVID), C. Godwin (Bye) and C. Samuel (Bye) will all miss this weeks critical game! It does seem like they should get D. Swift back so that will be a bonus. For Bossman, they will finally have their duo of D. Cook and A. Ekeler available for the first time since week 3. As I look through the lineups, I am thinking this is a Bossman win and then I see Mr. Mahomes and pause for a minute. I do expect a typical good game from Mahomes but I think Bossman finds a way to win this one as they usually do in situations like this! Bossman wins and gets back to the playoffs where they will be looking to avenge their Super Bowl loss from a year ago!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: N/A
  • Record: N/A
  • PPG Avg: N/A

PROJECTED PLAYOFF FIELD:
Based on the preview above here is what the playoff field would look like and of course I am making some estimates on points scored as that is going to be hugely important in this final week.

Playoff Teams:
(1) U Don’t Know: 9-4 record
(2) Rapids Plungers: 8-5 record, most pts scored of 8 win teams
(3) Bossman: 8-5 record
(4) teamAlaska: 8-5 record
(5) Big Papa: 8-5 record
(6) PackerFANatic7: 8-5 record
***Notice someone missing? Starrfavrerodg. I have PackerFANatic7 winning and outscoring Starrfavrerodg by more then the 20 points needed to win the final tie breaker and get into the playoffs***

Now this would be CRAZY and I can’t wait to see how it ends up!

Good luck everyone!

XVII – Week 12 Recap

Wow! We came into Week 12 knowing it was going to be a good week with a lot at stake. We knew that Week 12 was going to start on Thanksgiving day, but what we didn’t know is that it was going to end almost a week later! I don’t have a way of knowing this for sure but there is not a year that I recall being down to the final week and not one team has officially clinched a playoff berth. Our current #1 overall seed through 12 weeks could *technically* finish as the #1 overall seed or miss the playoffs entirely with a loss in the final weeks of the season. Most of the teams at the top of the league going into the week all lost which sets up what is sure to be a crazy final week of the season! Like so many have said… it’s 2020 what do you expect!?

Pack Attack (112.00) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (95.90)

A win here and 16hrs (5-7) could have kept talking about the playoffs with one week to go however Pack Attack (3-9) found a way to get the win and officially end their playoff chances! As they look towards next year 16hrs is going to need to figure out how to close out seasons better. They started out 3-3 this year but then since have gone 2-4. If they flip that around and go 4-2 you are looking at a team that would be right in the thick of the playoff race. They still have something to play for next week as they have only hit the 6 win mark once in the last 9 years. They could get to that with a win next week and hope that builds some momentum going into next season!

Big Papa (136.29) vs teamAlaska (98.17)

Want to know the team that benefited the most from last week’s games? Big Papa as they move to 8-4! Not only did they get the win over a potential playoff foe in teamAlaska (7-5) but they also moved all the way up to the #2 overall seed with one week remaining! A. Gibson’s 36pt effort on Thanksgiving day set the tone for Big Papa and they never looked back. I don’t want to say Big Papa has been sneaking up on people but they have won three of their last 4 games to now put them into a position to get one of the first round byes. That would be huge for this team as the one thing they have not been is consistent. Of the current top 6 teams, Big Papa has the most weeks of scoring under 100 points and that is 3! I am not saying that doesn’t make them a contender as sometimes it takes teams all year to find that prime roster and run with it but what I am saying is they haven’t been dominating their opponents so to get a free win (bye week) in the playoffs would be huge! teamAlaska has fallen and fallen fast as they have now lost 4 of their last 5 games and now are hanging on for dear life as they are sitting at the #6 spot thanks to the points scored tie breaker. The good news, they get to play the last place team in the league in Pack Attack next week. The bad news, most last place teams have checked out by now but Pack Attack is going to do everything they can to get a win considering it is their last game for the next 9 months!

This play would have been worth 2 fantasy points and win!
AND one more time!!

BIGBOY! (92.14) vs pack slayer (91.50)

Fantasy football is fun most of the time BUT sometimes there are moments or games or even years that make you want to… I don’t know… scream and forget that fantasy football was ever a thing! I am pretty sure that this week might be one of those games for pack slayer. pack slayer (5-7) came into this game fighting for their playoff lives while BIGBOY!’s (5-7) season was over. pack slayer was watching the Steelers / Ravens game closely as one of their better WR’s (D. Johnson) was playing in that game. They watched the news stories and decided their best chance to win was leave D. Johnson in their starting lineup and take the chance of his game being cancelled. His game wasn’t cancelled and was played on the first Wednesday afternoon game I have ever seen. Going into the game, pack slayer was down by 10.94 points but in the end D. Johnson could only muster 10.30 points! As tough as it is to see your season come to an end by less then 1 point it is even tougher when your one remaining player who gets paid millions of dollars to catch footballs can’t do that one simple task! I was watching this live and thought to myself… I better rewind and record this because I think pack slayer is going to lose because of it. Sure enough, with this play they saw their season literally slip through their hands!

DaUnderdog (97.54) vs Sportsfreak (94.10)

So I have no idea what to think about this one other then this kind of sums up how both of these teams have won and lost games this year! Sportsfreak (3-9) was projected at 131.51 points and they scored 94.10. DaUnderdog (5-7) was projected at 96.34 and they scored 97.54. DaUnderdog is 5-7 but the most points they have scored all season in a week is 117. They also won two games while scoring under 100. Sportsfreak is 3-9 on the season and they scored over 117 points in half of their games and yet they have two fewer wins on the season! I don’t know how this stuff happens but it does and now would not be the best of times for Sportsfreak to get into gambling as their luck doesn’t seem to be the greatest right now!

HHH (117.94) vs Bossman (108.27)

This was a MUST win for HHH (6-6) and they did just that to keep their slim playoff hopes alive with one game left. It wasn’t their best performance but HHH got huge production from both K. Cousins (30.41) and J. Jefferson (22.50) to get back to .500 on the season. So their season is technically still alive but they are going to need to win next week and score A LOT of points if they want in. There is a chance and that is all you can ask for at this time however 1% seems about right! Bossman did something very uncharacteristic of a Bossman coached team and that was that they left Ekeler and his 18 points on the bench. I know his status wasn’t know until after McKissic played on Thursday and he was coming back from being out the bulk of the year so you had to wonder how many touches he was going to get. You would have thought however Bossman coach Steve Boss would have hit up Mr. Schefter to get the inside scoop and make sure to have him in the lineup. Would that have led Bossman to the win? Yep. If Ekeler starts over McKissic then Bossman would be your #2 seed in the league and setup nicely for that first round bye. All that is still in play for them going into the final week however they no longer control things and will need help if they want that bye! The good news… Ekeler is back and looks like he didn’t miss a beat which is a good thing for Bossman and their championship hopes!

PackerFANatic7 (121.09) vs Starrfavrerodg (119.79)

Wow! Another great game that came down to the wire and was decided on Wednesday afternoon. Starrfavrerodg (8-4) needed 1.4 more points from the Baltimore D and they would be sitting alone at the top of the leaderboard. The Bal D actually played really well allowing Starrfavrerodg to think they may actually pull this one out but with 4:52 to play in the game the Steelers scored and that score was the difference maker. So let’s now talk about PackerFANatic7 (7-5) because well quite frankly I am impressed. Things looked bleak at best for this team 4 weeks ago but since then they have won three of their last four games and have beaten U Don’t Know, HHH and Starrfavrerodg. To say it has been eventful would be an understatement. They have won their last two games by a total of 5.4 points! Not an average but a total of 5.4! That tells me this team is tested and if they can find a way to make the playoffs watch out! They are currently sitting at the #7 spot so they are going to need some help this week but all they can do is control what they can control and they have been doing just that! I did want to end this one with a “What if” because well.. why not!? Remember I said the Ravens D needed 1.4 more points for Starrfavrerodg to win? If you didn’t know a INT is worth 2 points. Big Ben did everything he could to give the Ravens a shot with 2:34 remaining in the game!

A pick here and Starrfavrerodg may have a 1st round bye!

Rapids Plungers (241.28) vs U Don’t Know (166.39)

WOW! I am not sure what else to say with this one other then that! The 166 points by U Don’t Know (8-4) is good but the 241 points from Rapids Plungers (7-5) is AMAZING! In fact it is so amazing that it has never been done before. Yes, that’s right a congratulations are in order because Rapids Plungers now has set the record for the highest scoring week in league history! The previous high was set by U Don’t Know (223.98) back in the 2010 Season. 200 points is a rare feat and has only been accomplished eight other times in league history! There was also another record set and that was this game will go down as the highest scoring game ever with a total of 407.67 points scored. The previous highest scoring game was back in the 2009 season when once again Rapids Plungers beat Bossman by a score of 197.33 to 178.03 for a total of 375.36. There is also another potential record broken here but I don’t have the time to figure this one out and that is T. Hill’s 64.45 points scored in this one! That is ridiculous! Especially when you consider that we had 6 teams in the league this week that scored in the 90’s. I think what I took out of this one is that our defending champ in Rapids Plungers has as good of a shot as any team to win this thing again and U Don’t Know despite the loss still is one of the best teams in the league! I mean they would have beat every other team by 30 points this week but instead they went to the wall of shame for being the losing team of Yahoo’s “Biggest Blowout of the Week”! I am ready for this one again in the playoffs!

That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!

XVII – Week 12 Preview

Two weeks remaining and amazingly we still don’t have any teams that have officially clinched a playoff berth. Here are the playoff scenarios in play for this week:

CLINCHED PLAYOFF SPOT – PLAYOFF SEEDING AT STAKE
NONE

PLAYOFF CLINCHING SCENARIOS
1. Starrfavrerodg – Clinches a playoff berth with a win OR a loss by Rapids Plungers
2. U Don’t Know – Clinches a playoff berth with a win OR a loss by PackerFANatic7
3. Bossman – Clinches a playoff berth with a win AND a loss by either Rapids Plungers or PackerFANatic7
4. teamAlaska – Clinches a playoff berth with a win AND a loss by either Rapids Plungers or PackerFANatic7
5. Big Papa – Clinches a playoff berth with a win AND a loss by either Rapids Plungers or PackerFANatic7

ELIMINATED FROM PLAYOFF CONTENTION
1. Pack Attack
2. Sportsfreak

Here is a bit of interesting news and this should be especially interesting to those 5 win teams out there BUT the two teams that are tied for the 6th and final playoff spot with 6-5 records (Rapids Plungers & PackerFANatic7) play the top two teams in the league this week (U Don’t Know & Starrfavrerodg). If U Don’t Know and Starrfavrerodg take care of business and get the wins then talk about a potential log jam for that final spot!! Every game this week but one (Sportsfreak vs DaUnderdog) has playoff implications and technically even that one kind of does…. What a great final two weeks it is looking to be!

Now that you know the playoff scenarios let’s get to the previews!

16hrs Ahead of You!! (5-6) vs Pack Attack (2-9)

Well this is odd! It has not happened often where with two weeks remaining in the season 16hrs is staring down at the last place Pack Attack team! I am sure 16hrs is enjoying this moment and they would like to add a bit more to their misery by giving them their 10th loss on the season. In doing so however they would be keeping their slim playoff hopes alive going into the last week of the season! The playoffs start this week for 16hrs and I can’t think of a better opponent for them to face in a must win situation then the last place team in the league!

Prediction:
Check out the Yahoo predictions for this one!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 18
  • Record: Advantage Pack Attack at 14-4
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Pack Attack 118.00 vs 101.60

teamAlaska (7-4) vs Big Papa (7-4)

We have two teams coming off big wins last week and now a shot at a first round bye, securing a playoff berth or missing out on the playoffs altogether are all at stake in this one! The winner here could officially clinch a playoff berth with some help and depending on the outcomes of the teams ahead of them they could also be sitting in one of the top 2 spots after this week is over. On the flip side, the loser could drop (depending on other game outcomes) all the way to the #6 spot or even worse, completely outside of the playoff field altogether! To say this is a big game would be a understatement!

Prediction:
I told you about how high the stakes are and I expect this game to live up to the hype! The last game that Big Papa played I expected a defensive effort and for them to come out on top. They surprised me with not only a really solid defensive performance by holding DaUnderdog to under 100 points but also a really good offensive performance by scoring 150! This game is a bit different as I could see this one being a bit more high scoring. So since I predicted the score of last week’s game with Big Papa I guess I will do it again. I think teamAlaska comes out on top and sets up a very interesting final week of the season. The score? I think teamAlaska wins 135 to 118!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 17
  • Record: Advantage Big Papa at 11-6
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Big Papa 119.47 to 104.13

pack slayer (5-6) vs BIGBOY! (4-7)

This is a big game for one team and that is pack slayer! They have put themselves into the playoff conversation with back to back wins and they now need to make it three in a row against a team in BIGBOY! that over the last seven weeks (1-6) has been one of the worst in the league. I see a very realistic chance for pack slayer to get that last spot in the playoffs but it has to start with a win this week. BIGBOY! coach Kyle Lindgren would love nothing more then to send one of their biggest rivals to the consolation round and out of the playoffs. However like I said they have lost six of their last seven games for a reason and I am not sure if they can find a way to get the win this week!

Prediction:
BIGBOY! gets back C. Carson this week while pack slayer may be without A. Thielan. This may not seem like a huge deal but you may be looking at a 15 point swing in BIGBOY’s favor if Thielan can’t go. This won’t be the first time this season that pack slayer has had to try and work around a player not playing due to injury / covid. I think pack slayer has a lot of momentum after the last two weeks but I think that all comes crashing down this week as BIGBOY! finds a way to win and all but end pack slayer’s season and playoff hopes!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 9
  • Record: Advantage BIGBOY! at 6-3
  • PPG Avg: Advantage BIGBOY! 134.25 to 122.08

Bossman (7-4) vs HHH (5-6)

I mentioned earlier about how the 5 win teams going into this week should be feeling some level of hope after hearing who the teams ahead of them are playing. HHH is one of those teams. I am not sure what is more surprising for HHH, the fact that they are having to battle for the final playoff spot after starting out the season 4-1 or the fact that they are still in the hunt for a playoff spot after going 1-5 in their last six games! Needless to say a strong start to the season can go a long ways and now we will see if HHH can make it go all the way to a somewhat improbable playoff berth! Bossman is coming off a disappointing loss last week but make no mistakes about it this is one of the top teams in the league and they are about to get their 2nd round draft pick in A. Ekeler back just in time for the playoffs. With how tight things are they still have some work to do to make the playoffs but like the other 7 win teams they not only have a chance at the first round bye but they also technically have a chance at missing the playoffs altogether. Considering that they finish off the season next week against Starrfavrerodg I am thinking this is being looked at as a must win game for Bossman!

Prediction:
This Bossman lineup is going to look crazy good when Ekeler is back but I don’t think they will need him this week as it looks like they will be sitting him in his first week back. I think Bossman comes out with a vengeance and dominates in this one leaving HHH wondering what could have been.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 14
  • Record: Advantage Bossman at 9-5
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Bossman 112.25 to 107.77

DaUnderdog (4-7) vs Sportsfreak (3-8)

This is the one game that doesn’t have much for playoff implications. Both of these teams are in the evauluation mode of trying to determine where things went wrong and what they can do to make things better next year. DaUnderdog had seemingly built some team momentum the past three years as they made the playoffs in two of those years. This is a step back for them while Sportsfreak will now have missed the playoffs for the third year in a row! The one thing that might be worth mentioning is that the bottom two teams don’t even get a chance to play in the consolation round. Pack Attack seems to have one of those spots locked in while the other one is up in the air. So Hey… that is something worth fighting for!

Prediction:
DaUnderdog has done everything they could to keep their season alive despite their top pick in S. Barkley tearing his ACL in week 2 of the season and L. Jackson playing like a decent QB and not the superstar they drafted him to be. I don’t think they have enough gas left in the tank. I expect Sportsfreak to win this one and keep their momentum towards securing a berth in the consolation bracket!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 18
  • Record: Advantage Sportsfreak at 11-7
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Sportsfreak 113.49 to 100.28

U Don’t Know (8-3) vs Rapids Plungers (6-5)

Of all the potentially great games and games with a lot at stake this might be the one I am most excited about. Rapids Plungers carries with them a huge advantage for that final playoff spot and that is due to their points scored! It would be extremely difficult for the teams below them to catch them in that category which means that they all want Rapids Plungers to lose and lose bad! U Don’t Know wants to oblige and provide a win for their suddenly new cheering section! U Don’t Know has thier own reasons for getting the win and that is they are looking to stay in control of their own destiny towards a playoff berth and potential first round bye. Not to mention, given the firepower and the experience of the reigning champ Rapids Plungers I am sure they would love to be a part of keeping them out of the playoffs altogether! This should be another great game with a playoff like atmosphere!

Prediction:
This is another really tough one to pick. The nice thing about this one is that we shouldn’t have to wait too long to find out who has the upper hand as Rapids Plungers has four players in today’s games while U Don’t Know has two. The big difference though is that Rapids Plungers has two of their top players in D. Watson and W. Fuller going while U Don’t Know has role players out there. If U Don’t Know is able to keep this thing somewhat close after tonight’s games then that would for sure give them the upper hand for the victory. I do think that Rapids Plungers will jump out to a fairly solid lead after today’s games and even more so after the Sunday early games are done but I think U Don’t Know will claw their way back after that. I expect a solid game from Rodgers Sunday night which will set the stage for a dramatic finish with U Don’t Know’s DK Metcalf going over 100 yards in the 4th quarter and getting the 5 point bonus needed to complete the comeback and get the win. U Don’t Know wins and clinches the playoff berth!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 12
  • Record: Tied at 6-6
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Rapids Plungers 121.76 to 117.94

Starrfavrerodg (8-3) vs PackerFANatic7 (6-5)

This is the game that just about everyone in the league will be keeping an eye on. This one along with the U Don’t Know vs Rapids Plungers game. PackerFANatic7 held true to form last week which is win one, lose one. They have been doing that since Week 5 but that needs to end this week if they want to make a serious playoff push. A win here followed by a Rapids Plungers loss to U Don’t Know and PackerFANatic7 would then control their own destiny in the final week of the season. Starrfavrerodg does already control their own destiny at least as it pertains to the playoffs and a first round bye. It is simple for them. Win the next two games and they get a first round bye and a shot at the #1 overall spot! Lose and you have three teams waiting to leapfrog over you and take that bye! This like so many of the other games this week feels like a playoff game! So who comes out on top? Does PackerFANatic7 get the win and strengthen their case for a playoff spot or does Starrfavrerodg prove that last week’s game was truly just a fluke!

Prediction:
This matchup features two interesting QB’s, let’s call them QB1 and QB2. QB1 has averaged 28.24 ppg while QB2 has averaged a solid 25.48 ppg. QB2 has had only one week where they failed to score more than 20 points while QB1 has had three weeks where they failed to score more than 20 points. Over the last 5 weeks, QB1 has scored 136.69 points while QB2 has scored 139.08 in that span. I would call these stats fairly even right? Some may even say they would choose QB2 over QB1 if this was all the information you were given. Now what if I told you in order to get QB1 on your roster you needed to give up a first round draft pick but you could find QB2 in the FA pool after the draft. Now which one are you choosing? Yes, QB1 is Patrick Mahomes and QB2 is Justin Herbert. To say Herbert has been a bright spot this year would be a huge understatement and if PackerFANatic7 is going to come out on top in this one it is going to be because Herbert continues their MVP caliber season. You know what!? I actually think Herbert goes toe to toe with Mahomes in scoring. I do think Mahomes will slightly outscore him but it won’t be by much. Starrfavrerodg will likely be without D. Swift this week which will hurt and I really like a number of matchups for PackerFANatic7 this week. I am going to pick the upset and like PackerFANatic7 to find a way to get the win!
