Can anyone beat Rapids Plungers? Will the defending champs, BIGBOY! finally get back on track? Who of the seven, 4-3 teams will create some separation this week? Will 16hrs relinquish their seemingly firm grip on last place? All that in this week’s preview!
U Don’t Know (4-3) vs Pack Attack (3-4)
U Don’t Know is on a roll having won 3 of their last 4 games and last week having their second best week of the season! They had been struggling to find points despite the wins but last week they showed that their is some offense their as well. This is a team on the rise and a win here would further solidify that status. They get an easy match up this week against Pack Attack, a game in which they are the heavy favorite and should win easily! 😉

DaUnderdog (4-3) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (1-6)
DaUnderdog is coming off the win last week however it was one of their worst weeks of the season as they only scored 105pts. 16hrs is coming off their worst week of the season as they only scored 70 points. This is a game for DaUnderdog that they need to find a way to win if they want to be in the conversation with some of the best teams in the league. 16hrs on the other hand has their mind set one thing, getting out of the last place position! They have been there for far too long and their team is losing confidence by the week. This is a big week for both teams but for different reasons!
Prediction:
Sorry 16hrs but you are going to have to wait until next week to climb out of the bottom of the standings. If there is a chance for 16hrs to win this week it would be because of D. Watson mimicking A. Rodgers performance against Oakland. That is possible yes however I would say unlikely. I am going with DaUnderdog to get the easy win.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 17
- Record: Advantage DaUnderdog at 9-8
- PPG Avg: Advantage 16hrs Ahead of You! 102.95 to 101.93
Bossman (5-2) vs Big Papa (4-3)
Bossman has proved themselves over the past six weeks that they are one of the top teams in the league and they will be looking to further solidify that this week as they go against a Big Papa squad that has been winning with Defense. Of their 7 games played only twice has an opponent scored over 100 points (123 & 140) the rest look like this (52,71,73,90,50). That’s some solid defense! The next closest team in weeks where they didn’t allow 100 points is pack slayer and Rapids Plungers which both have three weeks where they didn’t allow 100 points. Can Bossman be the third team to score over 100 on them or will Big Papa add another one to the under 100 club!
Prediction:
The Yahoo projections have this game at almost a dead heat with only 0.80 points separating them. While I don’t agree with the projected score I do agree with the fact that this should be a close game. Bossman will be without two of their best weapons in Dak Prescott and Zeke. Big Papa is also without their top weapon in P. Mahomes but they have a nice fill in with Stafford. I expect a low scoring defensive battle but Bossman has been finding ways to win this season and I expect them to do that again. Bossman to win 101.39 to 96.37.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 13
- Record: Advantage Bossman at 8-5
- PPG Avg: Advantage Bossman 115.09 to 107.83
Rapids Plungers (7-0) vs BIGBOY! (2-5)
There is not too many more things to be said that haven’t already been said about Rapids Plungers and how they have dominated this season! They are right now the clear cut favorite to win it all and it seems like they are on a mission to re-write the record books along the way to the playoffs! A win here and they will own the longest regular season winning streak of all time at 15 games! The team standing in their way? The two time defending champion, BIGBOY! BIGBOY! has really struggled to find any rhythm or momentum this season but what better way to find both of those things but to go up against the best team in the league and win! Clearly that is exactly what BIGBOY! needs this week if they want a realistic shot at getting back to the playoffs. Can they do it or will Rapids Plungers send them home with another loss and maybe even end their 2 year reign over the league!
Prediction:
Before I tell you my pick it is interesting to note the draft strategy here for both teams. Rapids Plungers started with WR’s (Hopkins, K. Allen & Godwin) while BIGBOY! started with RB’s (D. Johnson, L. Bell & J. Jacobs). Going into week 1 it looked like Rapids Plungers had the best set of WR’s and BIGBOY! the best RB’s. That is for sure true for Rapids as their WR group has been dominant but for BIGBOY! they have the BIG names but have not had the production they anticipated. I think that turns out to be the difference here as Rapids Plungers led by their WR’s outscore and outperform BIGBOY! and their RB’s. I expect it to be a closer game then you might think given their record but in the end Rapids Plungers makes history with their 15th regular season win in a row and sends BIGBOY! into a “needs to win out” scenario for the remainder of the season.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 9
- Record: Advantage BIGBOY! at 5-4
- PPG Avg: Advantage Rapids Plungers 132.01 to 111.88
HHH (4-3) vs PackerFANatic7 (1-6)
These are always the fun games as we have a Father vs Son meeting. We have had a few of these over the years with Big Papa vs Sportsfreak & BIGBOY! but this one is fairly new. This is only the third time they have met and so far each team has one win. This year feels a bit different though as HHH up until the last two weeks was looking like one of the better teams in the league and PackerFANatic7 despite their one win was looking like a middle of the pack kind of team. Last week though this PackerFANatic7 team looked very much like a one win team and now they are in a position that one more loss may all but end their season. So now begs the question… does HHH (who technically can afford a loss) take it easy on their son to allow them at least one more week of thinking they have a chance or does HHH put all that aside and teach their son a lesson that daddy can’t be their to protect them all the time and they have to learn the consequences of drafting a bad team!
Prediction:
HHH could potentially be without 3 starters this week (M. Andrews, M. Ingram and D. Adams). Those are three quality players that will be tough to replace their points. PackerFANatic7 will be without their top WR in Adam Thielen. I think that makes this game a prime upset waiting to happen as HHH has lost two in a row and PackerFANatic7 must win. I am going to go with the upset and pick PackerFANatic7 to win. Don’t worry HHH you have an easy justification to the loss. “I did it for my son”!
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 2
- Record: Tied at 1-1
- PPG Avg: Advantage PackerFANatic7 137.19 to 135.06
pack slayer (4-3) vs Sportsfreak (2-5)
pack slayer was able to snap their two game losing streak last week with a easy win over 16hrs. Despite the fact that they didn’t play overly well. They now have another game against one of teams at the bottom of the league in Sportsfreak however I expect a bit more fight from them they they got last week with 16hrs. Sportsfreak can’t seem to figure out how to get their team to play together and have a solid game and maybe it is just the fact that this team is not very good! This is a winnable game however so if they want a realistic shot at the playoffs this is a game they need to win!
Prediction:
Sportsfreak will have to try and win this one while their best player is on a bye (L. Jackson). They have a formidable fill in with J. Allen and he will be expected to play and play well. pack slayer is dealing with injuries as J. Gordon is now out for the season and M. Ryan is banged up. This one will be close but I think pack slayer has enough firepower to get the win again this week. I don’t expect much for scoring but I do expect them to come out on top.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 8
- Record: Advantage pack slayer at 5-3
- PPG Avg: Advantage U Don’t Know 120.62 to 116.24
PackMan12 (4-3) vs teamAlaska (4-3)
Both teams come into this week coming off a loss and will looking to rebound and get back into the top part of the standings. I am still trying to figure these two teams out but I think I am starting to understand teamAlaska a little better and I believe this is a playoff team that if they got hot at the right time they can score with the best of them. Not to mention they are about to get Brees back. This is a team that I see some potential in. PackMan12, I am still waiting. They have had some solid games but then they have games like they did in week 5 where they only score 45 points. The problem I have with this team is finding points on a regular basis. There are a couple of guys that have the potential for big games and I think that is M. Evans and J. Conner. Evans though has been struggling so far this year and with the emergence of Godwin he no longer looks like a WR1 so the potential is looking less and less likely. That is my take right now but I was really low on teamAlaska a few weeks ago and they have over time changed my mind. So change my mind PackMan12.
Prediction:
I think teamAlaska finds a way to get the win in this one. There is a key game for teamAlaska and it happens to be tonight as Cousins and Diggs are in a great matchup against Washington. The only hesitation I have is that it is a Thursday game and typically speaking you don’t get huge fantasy points on Thursday games. I expect Diggs and Cousins to out perform projections and give teamAlaska a lead they never relinquish.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 8
- Record: Advantage PackMan12 at 6-2
- PPG Avg: Advantage PackMan12 123.02 to 105.24
