XVIII – Week 10 Recap

Posted on November 16, 2021November 18, 2021 by rkeepers1

Pack Attack (111.17) vs Sportsfreak (80.62)

Fantasy Football and football in general sometimes is hard to figure out. Pack Attack has now had to play two full games without two of their top players (K. Murray and D. Hopkins) and they have won both of those games for a 2-0 record. In the games which Murray and Hopkins have played they are 2-6. That doesn’t make much sense but it does help when the other teams don’t score 100 points! Sportsfreak had their worst week of the year by only scoring 80 points. It didn’t help that they were dealing with injuries to A. Kamara / A. Brown and D. Harris. They are going to need to get out of this little funk they have been in over the past two weeks if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive!

16hrs Ahead of you!! (118.00) vs Rapids Plungers (100.31)

This was a big win for 16hrs (5-5) as they broke their two game losing streak and have moved back to .500 on the season. This was one they really needed to have against a Rapids Plungers (2-8) team that is really struggling right now. The win for 16hrs moves them within one game of playoff positioning with 4 to go! Could this be the year 16hrs finally makes it back to the playoffs!? Rapids Plungers.. I am not sure what else to say other then this team is really bad right now. They have lost 7 in a row and only have two wins on the season. The complete opposite of 16hrs in that the last time Rapids Plungers missed the playoffs was 6 years ago and they have made the playoffs in 9 of their 13 seasons. So to see this team with the record they have is surprising. They will for sure not give up and I expect them to do whatever it takes to finish the season strong.

PackerFANatic7 (135.43) vs Big Papa (126.99)

What a good game this one turned out to be as PackerFANatic7 comes away with the hard fought win and moves to 6-4 on the season. This one came down to the Monday night game as J. Ramsey and PackerFANatic7 got 16 points from J. Ramsey and E. Mitchell while Big Papa’s kicker M. Gay could only put up 4 points. This was a much better showing by Big Papa (3-7) and to be somewhat expected when you have P. Mahomes scoring 48 points! It wasn’t enough though as PackerFANatic7 for a surprise 28 points from R. Stevenson and then another 25 from the Cowboys D! They needed every bit of that as L. Jackson / M. Brown and some of the other stars didn’t perform particularly well. The win moves PackerFANatic7 within a game of that first round bye!

BIGBOY! (111.22) vs pack slayer (103.76)

BIGBOY! does it again as they find a way to win this time against one of their top competitions for that #1 overall seed. The win here really separates them from the pack as they now have a two game lead on the rest of the competition. It wasn’t their best performance but yet again they did enough to get the win thanks to solid performances from C. Lamb (23.50) and C. McCaffrey (20.23). If they could get that Herbert / Williams connection going again watch out but 3 out of the last 4 weeks have been very average for this pair not saying I am getting concerned but I am not sure that BIGBOY! is as confident as maybe he once was! pack slayer falls to 6-4 on the season and saw their 4 game winning streak come to an end. They are still in good position for a playoff berth and still have the second most points scored in the league so very much in the hunt for that #2 seed and bye!

HHH (114.57) vs Bossman (106.66)

There was a lot of big wins this week for teams but there may not have been one bigger then HHH finding a way to take down Bossman this week! This snaps their 3 game losing streak and keeps their playoff hopes alive as they move to 4-6 on the season. This one came down to the Monday night game as well as Bossman needed a big game from V. Jefferson to get the win but it didn’t happen. HHH got a monster game from D. Williams (27.92) and a solid 21.96 points from M. Jones. It turned out to be a great coaching move to keep R. Wilson (1.35) on IR for one more week and stick with Jones as without that HHH would have taken another loss! It’s not time to start panicking yet for this Bossman team but back to back losses to teams that record wise they should be beating.. that is not ideal! They get to go up against an explosive pack slayer team next week so it will be interesting to see how they react!

DaUnderdog (86.13) vs Starrfavrerodg (67.51)

Wow! When DaUnderdog noted last week that Defenses win championships they weren’t joking as they put together another stout defensive effort. This win moved DaUnderdog to 6-4 on the season and in the 6th and final playoff spot! Since Week 5, DaUnderdog has failed to score 100 points 5 out of the 6 games and yet they still somehow have a 3-3 record over that span and not to mention they have won their last two games while scoring 96 and 86 points! Is this sustainable? I would tend to think no but for now they will continue to ride the hot hand of their defense! Was this the end of Starrfavrerodg’s season? Sitting at 3-7, I would say yes mainly just given how they have been playing during this 5 game losing streak. They haven’t scored over 100 points since week 4 and really haven’t shown much signs of life. I would say this team is done!

teamAlaska (129.12) vs U Don’t Know (113.88)

teamAlaska once again does what they do best… score 120 points and win! That has been their recipe this year and this week they were led by D. Prescott and his 24 points. teamAlaska has 5 games this season where they have scored in the 120’s and they are 5-0 in those games. This win moved them to 7-3 on the season and in a tie with Bossman for that #2 spot and a playoff bye! They have a real shot at overtaking Bossman and slipping into that #2 spot. U Don’t Know falls to 4-6 on the season and their 3 game winning streak came to an end. D. Samuel (24.25) did his best to get this team back into it during the Monday night game but it wasn’t nearly enough. Despite the loss U Don’t Know is still within striking distance of that final playoff spot(s). I am excited to see how the last 5 weeks end up and which teams fall out or which teams make their push to the playoffs. Will U Don’t Know be one of them… I Don’t Know! (Sorry.. had to).

That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!
