Pack Attack (98.11) vs teamAlaska (51.47)
Sometimes it is better to be lucky then good and the last three weeks Pack Attack (5-6) falls into the lucky category as they have won the last three games despite only scoring over 100 points one time. They have done this without K. Murray and D. Hopkins and will have to do it one more week without them as they go for their 4th lucky win in a row! teamAlaska falls to 7-4 and the bottom really fell out this week as their worst week prior to this was a 97 point effort in Week 9. They were missing A. Jones and C. Sutton to a bye and anytime you have two players give you negative points and one of them is your Star QB (D. Prescott) you are going to have a week like teamAlaska just did. Despite the loss they are still sitting at the #3 spot in the league!
16hrs Ahead of you!! (124.86) vs Sportsfreak (67.99)
What’s happening!? Is that a win for 16 hrs (6-5) during the stretch run!? I believe so, in fact that is two wins in a row for a team that has struggled over the past years to win games when it mattered most and now they have won two straight games and are tied with three other teams for the final two playoff spots! This seems like a different 16hrs team as they didn’t just win but they dominated Sportsfreak (4-7) and while it didn’t end Sportsfreak’s season it certainly left it hanging by a thread! Three weeks left and all three games against teams that right now are battling for the playoffs or playoff positioning… if 16hrs gets in it will be because they have earned it!
Rapids Plungers (113.29) vs Big Papa (71.59)
And it’s gone! Rapids Plungers (3-8) breaks their 7 game losing streak! Now it was against a team in Big Papa (3-8) who because of the loss slipped into last place in the league so the good news is simply the streak is gone and they get their first win since September! Both of these teams are not officially eliminated from playoff contention but it is just a matter of time at this point. The only question remaining is will one of them be able to finish strong and at least have a shot in the consolation bracket!
BIGBOY! (134.99) vs PackerFANatic7 (110.60)
Another challenger and yet another week that BIGBOY! (10-1) finds a way to get the win. This one was really close through most of Sunday nights game but then Herbert connected with M. Williams for a long TD and that put the game away! The win makes for 10 on the season for BIGBOY and they become the first team to clinch a playoff berth and with a win next week they can clinch a first round bye. This team may have nothing to play for the final two weeks of the season which is rare in this league as it typically comes right down to the wire! PackerFANatic7 put up a good fight against the top team in the league but they couldn’t seal the deal and they have to be thinking “what if” L. Jackson and M. Brown had played! One could speculate that PackerFANatic7 just may have pulled off the upset but they still do hold the #6 spot and despite the loss I think if they do end up meeting BIGBOY! come playoff time that they would go into that game with some confidence!
Bossman (124.05) vs pack slayer (78.48)
Bossman had been struggling the previous two weeks and I expected this to be a tough test for them as they were going up against a high scoring pack slayer team but that high scoring pack slayer team never showed up and Bossman got back on track with a 124 point effort. The playoffs feel like a formality for Bossman but no one wants to back into the playoffs and they don’t want to just get in but they want that #2 seed and very important first round bye! This was a huge loss for pack slayer (6-5) as had they won they would have been tied with three other 7-4 teams and they would have won the tie breaker therefore they would be sitting at the #2 seed right now! Instead they have now lost two straight games and this was their lowest scoring week on the season. I know they were without Kupp and Stafford but I am not sure they win this one even with those two playing. The next three weeks will be interesting to see where both of these teams finish!
DaUnderdog (116.32) vs HHH (104.43)
At some point if you let a team hang around long enough they are going to have a solid week and go out and win a game the way a playoff team should and that is what happened this week with DaUnderdog. They had won two games in a row prior to this but had failed to score 100 points in either of them but this week they put together their best week since Week 6. Amazingly, this team is 3-0 since Henry went down to injury and now that they got to win #7 on the season they have moved all the way up to #4 in the standings and likely need just one more win to put them into the playoffs! HHH (4-7) had their season start out looking promising as they got off to a 2-0 start but since then have only been able to win two more games and now would need to win out and get some help to have a shot at the playoffs.
U Don’t Know (194.47) vs Starrfavrerodg (116.46)
Wow! What a game for U Don’t Know as they moved to 5-6 on the season and sent a message to the rest of the league that they are not quite ready to give up the mantle of “champion”! They have now won 4 of their last 5 games and are the second highest scoring team in the league! That matters a ton for a team that is trying to sneak into the playoffs over the next three weeks and their seeding or whether or not they get into the playoffs may come down to tie breakers which is scoring. Starrfavrerodg (3-8) now has lost 6 games in a row and any small, little glimmer of hope they had going into this week is now gone! They now can only fight to avoid last place and try to get into that consolation bracket!
That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!
