Pack Attack (93.25) vs Rapids Plungers (91.32)
AND the winner of the biggest loser award goes to… well can I give the award to both of these teams? They both did a great job showing why they were the bottom two teams coming into the week! Let’s talk about Rapids Plungers (2-7) for a minute. I picked them to lose like they were hoping and the fantasy football “gods” did everything they could do to get them the win. Kyler Murray and D. Hopkins didn’t play for Pack Attack. CMC somewhat surprisingly played which meant C. Hubbard for Pack Attack couldn’t be started and Pack Attack was left starting a QB in their first start (J. Love). All that help and still Rapids Plungers couldn’t find a way to win. They have now lost 6 straight games and their season is officially on life support. If there is some good news, it is that their is one extra game this week so finishing the season at 7-7 could get you in. For Pack Attack they get win #3 on the season which they needed but with a performance like that no one is feeling too worried about this team making a run at this point.
PackerFANatic7 (122.63) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (105.87)
PackerFANatic7 moves to 5-4 on the season with a big win over 16hrs (4-5). This is now back to back wins for PackerFANatic7 who is gaining some momentum. They got big games from L. Jackson (32.32), D. Smith (21.80) and M. Brown (19.80). They didn’t get much help outside of that but it didn’t matter this week as they walked away with the 17 point win and have moved up to #5 in the league! This is an interesting team as they seem to be relying potentially too heavily on L. Jackson and M. Brown as when those two play well this team wins and when they don’t they struggle. That may be enough to get them to the playoffs but I would like to see some consistency from the rest of their team. 16hrs falls to 4-5 but they see this year as a shot to break that LONG playoff drought as they made a deal to trade for one of the top WR’s in D. Adams. Will that trade be enough to put them over the top? It didn’t help this week but D. Adams had J. Love throwing him the ball. I expect better weeks ahead for sure! For now though, 16 hrs is going to need to find a way to get some wins before it is too late!
pack slayer (119.50) vs Big Papa (72.92)
pack slayer keeps things rolling by getting their 4th win in a row and moved to 6-3 on the season. This one wasn’t really close and what is probably the most impressive is that they scored the 4th most points in the league this week, won by 47 points and their combination of Stafford / Kupp only scored 23 points. This team is for real and I expect them to be right there in the end. Big Papa (3-6) saw their two game winning streak come to an abrupt end with them having their worst week of the season. Big Papa has scored the fewest amount of points in the league so far which means at this point they wouldn’t win any tie breakers so they are likely going to need to win out to keep their playoff hopes alive.
BIGBOY! (139.84) vs HHH (75.05)
Wins are feeling routine at this point for BIGBOY! as they move to 8-1 on the season by crushing HHH by 64 points! Herbert was back to what they have come accustomed to seeing with him and the idea of not dropping TJ Watt during his bye week seemed like the right move as he was the second leading scorer for this team at 22.45. I am sure they were excited to see CMC back on the field and I would expect his workload and points to go up over the course of the next couple of weeks which I am sure the rest of the league is very excited about. On the other side of the ball, HHH falls to 3-6 on the season and have now lost 6 of their last 7 games. Things have progressively gotten worse for this team each week since week 6 and now they find themselves in a really tough position with 5 games left in the regular season! They still have games against Bossman and pack slayer so if they do find a way to turn this thing around they will have earned it and it starts next week against Bossman.
DaUnderdog (92.14) vs Bossman (85.80)
Wow! What a ugly game but in the end an exciting one. DaUnderdog comes away with a gritty type of win and moves to 5-4 on the season. These are the type of games that Bossman (7-2) almost always finds a way to win but not this week. However, anytime that your QB scores 42% more points then your opponent you feel like you have a good chance of winning and that is what happened this week for DaUnderdog. I guess however that doesn’t seem so significant when your QB (T. Lawrence) scores 2.63 points and your opponents QB (J. Burrow) scores 1.71 points! Obviously given the final score there wasn’t too many players that stood out for either team. What did stand out is that this Bossman team looks a little different without Brady at QB which I alluded to earlier. They have been spoiled all year with roughly a 30ppg average from Brady and then he is out for a week and they only get 1.71 points at the QB position and lose by 7 points. Good news, Brady is back next week! For DaUnderdog, this was a big win in keeping them pushing towards a playoff berth and they are going to need to find a way to grind out some wins in these final 5 to get into the top 6!
U Don’t Know (138.66) vs Sportsfreak (97.44)
Ummm… do you all remember this team by the name of U Don’t Know? Yeah, the team that won the championship last season and oh yeah the team that suddenly is one game away from .500 after starting out the season 0-4. This has been an impressive last 5 weeks for U Don’t Know and this week may have been the most impressive as they dominated a Sportsfreak team that came in with a lot of momentum having won three straight games. U Don’t Know now sits only a game out of playoff positioning! Sportsfreak saw their three game winning streak come crashing down and they now fall back to 4-5 on the season. This was a surprising performance given the matchups but they will be hoping to get back on track next week and hope this was more of a blip rather then a sign of things to come!
teamAlaska (97.84) vs Starrfavrerodg (87.49)
I have been talking about teamAlaska and their consistency this season which was true for the first 7 weeks of the season but the last two weeks have been concerning as they scored 107 last week in a loss and this week despite finding a way to get the win they only scored 97 points. A win is a win and I know of about 10 teams in the league that would be happy with 6 wins at this point but for a team that had been rolling the last couple of weeks are a bit concerning. The good news is that they did get the win despite not playing well and if they can now get back on track a win like this can make a difference in playoff seeding. Starrfavrerodg falls to 3-6 on the season and this has been the worst team in the league over the past three weeks as not only have they lost each of the past three weeks but they have failed to score 100 points in either of those weeks. Last season (their first in the league) this team was enjoying things (winning does that) and I was getting regular text messages… now however I haven’t heard a peep for a long while. Things are not the greatest right now for Starrfavrerodg and unless they start winning I am thinking I won’t be getting that text message until next season!
That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!
