We are now down to the Final Four teams! The winner here moves on to the Super Bowl. We have a good mix of teams with two of them (Bossman and BIGBOY!) having multiple championships under their belt and then we also have two teams (DaUnderdog and pack slayer) who have yet to win their first championship. This should be a fun weekend of football! What could be better, Football, Family, Christmas!
(1) BIGBOY! vs (6) DaUnderdog
BIGBOY! is ready to go after what has been seemingly forever since they last had a meaningful game! There accomplishments throughout the regular season were well documented as this was by far and away the top team in the league. With that said you don’t get your name on any trophies for being the top team in the regular season as it is all about who wins in the playoffs! BIGBOY!’s quest for their third championship starts now!
DaUnderdog should feel zero pressure as they come into this one as a heavy underdog however their win last week over the reigning champ let everyone know that this team is for real. They are now only two wins away from their first ever championship trophy! As the #6 seed, they have the toughest road to get their but step 1 in that process is done and now a huge task in taking down BIGBOY! is in front of them. Can DaUnderdog pull off yet another upset and get to the Super Bowl or will BIGBOY! continue their league dominance and get back to the Super Bowl after taking a couple of years off!
I was looking at these two teams and it is interesting that both of them are here in the Final Four despite losing their first round picks to season ending injuries. DaUnderdog has been without D. Henry and BIGBOY! without the #1 overall pick in C. McCaffrey! The fact that both of these teams have found a way to get to this point is impressive.
Either way, let’s start at the QB Position. DaUnderdog late season acquisition of J. Burrow may come up BIG this week as he is going up against one of the worst pass defenses in the league while BIGBOY! will counter that with J. Herbert who has been solid most of the season and also has a great matchup against Houston this week. I am going with J. Herbert to outscore J. Burrow and have one of the highest scoring weeks by any QB this week.
The WR position doesn’t seem like much of a contest but as I say that it was that position that came out of nowhere last week and really led DaUnderdog. However, I don’t see DaUnderdog winning this position this week as D. Johnson, T. McClaurin and C. Lamb are far superior to DaUnderdog’s receivers. BIGBOY! with the edge here too.
The RB position is much closer but J. Mixon is up against a tough Ravens D and D. Singletary will seemingly need to get his points from receptions as he too is up against a tough D in the Patriots. DaUnderdog will be looking for one of them to have a stand out performance. For BIGBOY!, D. Henderson and C. Patterson should provide enough points for them to get the W in this category The RB position edge goes to BIGBOY!
The TE position has D. Schultz for BIGBOY! vs R. Gronkowski for DaUnderdog and this one for me is easy. Gronk may be Brady’s only trusted WR on the field this week and last week he saw a season high 11 targets! I expect Gronk to have a big week for DaUnderdog. DaUnderdog with the edge at TE.
Lastly, the flex position and since I said I like J. Herbert as one of the top QB plays of the week then I must like the Chargers pass catchers? Which I do. Lucky, for BIGBOY! he has one of them as I expect a solid game for M. Williams here. DaUnderdog counters that with D. Montgomery who has been solid when healthy. Montgomery will be up against a Seattle D that on paper is one of the worst in the leagues. I could see this being extremely close but since I have to give someone the edge I am going with BIGBOY! to have a slight edge here.
So who wins? I think DaUnderdog puts up a good fight and this ends up being a close game but in the end I think BIGBOY! just has too much firepower for DaUnderdog to keep up!
(2) pack slayer vs (4) Bossman
I am excited for this game to get going as you have a team in pack slayer that finishes the season extremely strong winning 7 of their last 9 games. There two losses however were against Bossman and BIGBOY! The fact that this team was able to fight there way all the way to the #2 seed is quite impressive and they will now get the opportunity to fight for their first ever championship. Bossman comes into this one having now made it to this round of the playoffs for 3 straight years and with a win they will have made it to 3 straight Super Bowls! They need to win one of these or shades of the Buffalo Bills in the early 90’s who went to and lost 4 straight super bowls are starting to show up. However just the fact that they are here and vying for their 3rd Super Bowl appearance in a row is an extremely impressive accomplishment. pack slayer will be looking for their 2nd Super Bowl appearance and their first since the 2018 season, a season in which they loss to BIGBOY! in the championship. Could we see a repeat of that 2018 Super Bowl? I am sure pack slayer wouldn’t mind that! This should be a great game!
Let’s start with the QB position, Stafford for pack slayer vs Brady for Bossman. Brady has been outstanding most of the season but their is certainly reason for concern going into this one. Brady looked awful in the loss last week as he failed to score a single point and now he will be without most of his top weapons! Stafford has been consistent most of the season and one of the better QB’s for fantasy purposes. In fact, these two QB’s come in at #3 and #4 in the overall points scored for QB’s. With Brady’s lack of weapons and Stafford in what seems like it could be a shootout against the Vikings, I like Stafford to have a better game this week! Edge goes to pack slayer!
The WR Position in this one is interesting and mainly because of the status of T. Hill. I don’t think it needs much explanation as to why that is interesting but pack slayer without T. Hill looks like a much more average team! As of this writing I have no idea if T. Hill will play but for the sake of the prediction I am going to assume he is in there. pack slayers WR group is one of the best with Kupp, T. Hill and Renfrow. Bossman counters that with Van Jefferson, Jamison Crowder and Kenny Golladay. You know it is bad when I have to spell out all of their first names so you know who I am talking about. pack slayer with a HUGE edge here assuming Hill plays and I would still give them the edge even if Hill is out.
The RB position is certainly not a strength for either team however Bossman has had L. Fournette leading the way the past month but of course he is out due to injury. Thankfully for Bossman they were able to add R. Jones to fill the gap. If Swift is able to come back from injury this week that would be a huge help for Bossman. pack slayer is running with CEH and L. Murray this week. Not really the dream duo you would want when you are trying to win a championship but that is what they have to work with. I like Bossman at the RB position, the one benefit I see for pack slayer is that KC may try to rely on the run more if some of their top weapons are out! Gotta go with Bossman here though.
The TE position similar to the WR position has a monster injury question mark that could go a long way in deciding who wins this one as T. Kelce for Bossman is right now out due to COVID. For the sake of the preview I am going to assume Kelce plays but I feel it is less likely he plays then Hill. pack slayer is starting T. Conklin but clearly if Kelce plays Bossman has a HUGE edge in this one!
The flex spot is ugly for both teams as Bossman will be starting D. Freeman while pack slayer is starting M. Gaskin. This isn’t great for either team but I like Gaskin a bit more here. I am going to give the edge pack slayer in this one as well.
And the winner is…. pack slayer! There is a lot of potential changes to these rosters and with COVID you don’t know if someone else may go down between now and the times the games kick off but for right now I like pack slayer. This one however could come down to what player or players who may not be expected to do much come out and have a solid game! For now though, my pick is pack slayer which means I am picking a rematch of the 2018 season when BIGBOY! and pack slayer played in the Super Bowl!
That’s it for the preview! Merry Christmas to all of you and your families!
