The playoffs are about to begin for the 17th time… wow we must all be getting old! We have a fun field this year which includes three teams that are still searching for their first ever championship (16hrs Ahead of You!!, DaUnderdog and pack slayer) and then we have three other teams who are coming back for more including last years winner in U Don’t Know. BIGBOY! was the clear winner of the regular season but as we now hit the playoffs season and COVID running rampant throughout the league this is sure to be a interesting next three weeks. Good luck to the playoff teams and now let’s get to the previews to see who is going to win!?
(4) Bossman vs (5) 16hrs Ahead of You!!
I am excited about both of these games because of course it is the playoffs but we have Bossman who has been there done that and is seemingly in the playoffs every year while 16hrs is finally back in the playoffs after a 10 season drought. Bossman has two championships to their name and they will be looking to become just the 3rd team in league history to get 3 championships. It is also worth mentioning that Bossman has been to back to back Super Bowl’s losing both and while getting to back to back Super Bowl’s is impressive getting there and losing again would be tough for any team to stomach! 16hrs has got to feel 100lbs lighter as they got that “haven’t made the playoffs in 10 years” weight off of their shoulders! It wasn’t easy but they fought hard and now they will be looking to make a statement and not by just getting to the playoffs but by taking down one of the more accomplished teams in the league. Will the experience of Bossman show and allow them to win this one OR will the hunger of a team tasting the playoffs for the first time in a LONG time be enough for 16hrs to pull off the upset? Let’s find out.
Prediction
I try to take a little different approach to the playoff previews and I will do the same this year as I will look at each position. First off though, and I know this means nothing but the Yahoo projections currently have 16hrs a 0.49 point favorite! That’s about as close as you get. Looking at the QB position we have Bossman who will be going with the leader for NFL MVP in Tom Brady who will be going up against a QB that sometimes I think he is good then other times I think he should be out of the league. This is an easy one even though Brady seems to struggle against the Saints for whatever reason I am still trusting him over D. Carr in this spot. The WR position is the opposite as I love 16hrs receivers this week and their group of WR’s with D. Adams, J. Chase and A. Thielen. This is the best receiving group playing in the wild card round and 16hrs will likely win or lose based on how they perform. 16hrs with a big edge here. At the RB position, it is close and simply because of how good Bossman’s L. Fournette has been playing since the bye week and specifically over the past three weeks. Combine that with the fact the Zeke for 16hrs has been struggling and I think this one is close. I am going to give the slight edge to 16hrs at the RB position. The TE position is easy, if you have Kelce on your team you win this one even in a down year by Kelce’s standards. Bossman is going to need him to perform well this week if they want to have a chance to win but the edge at this position goes to Bossman. At the flex, you have a surging J. Conner for 16hrs who I am not sure there has been a better RB in the league over the past 5 games as far as fantasy scoring goes. Bossman counters that with T. Patrick and well I am not sure I even need to tell you who wins this one. 16hrs easy! I am not going to get into the last three spots so based on what I am seeing who wins? I got 16hrs pulling off the upset and taking down Bossman! It won’t be easy as Bossman always seem to find ways to make it interesting but my money is on 16hrs in this one!
(3) U Don’t Know vs (6) DaUnderdog
I know I mentioned it but if the season had ended after the Sunday night game DaUnderdog would be having a first round bye but instead they are sitting at the #6 spot and they go up against one of the hottest teams in the league in U Don’t Know. U Don’t Know finished the season on a 7-1 streak and DaUnderdog also finished strong at 4-2. DaUnderdog has made the playoffs now 3 out of the last 5 seasons but they have yet to make any real noise when in the playoffs and by that I mean they have not won a game in either of those past two seasons. They will be hoping for a much different outcome this year. U Don’t Know is back and ready to prove that last season’s championship run was no fluke and that they plan to be a contending team year in and year out. Can U Don’t Know get one step closer to repeating or will DaUnderdog finally find a way to win a playoff game?
Prediction
Let’s start with the QB position. DaUnderdog was able to make a late season move and pickup J. Burrow who has been solid for them but U Don’t Know is countering that with A. Rodgers and the edge here is obvious. U Don’t Know takes this position. The WR position looked to be in favor of U Don’t Know again but then COVID hit and now T. Lockett will likely be out for U Don’t Know which opens the door for DaUnderdog to steal this position and I think they will. DaUnderdog with the narrow edge at WR this week. The RB position and specifically J. Taylor has been huge for U Don’t Know and they will need Taylor to come through big again this week if they want to move on. Barkley also has a shot at a big game against the division foes in Dallas. DaUnderdog has Mixon who has been really solid this season and D. Singletary who is getting enough catches out of the backfield to make him playable but the edge here still has to go to U Don’t Know. At TE, we have DaUnderdog rolling with Gronkowski who has been a TE1 when healthy while Z. Ertz moving to Arizona has boosted his stock for U Don’t Know. I am going to give the dge to Gronk and DaUnderdog at this position. Lastly, the flex position and this one feels easy as I don’t like D. Johnson for U Don’t Know and D. Montrgomery for DaUnderdog I could see getting into the top 10 this week for RB scoring. The edge here to DaUnderdog. Alright, who do I think will win? This one is close and I don’t see a lot of fireworks here. I see this coming down to the Monday night game and DaUnderdog needing 7 points from D. Montgomery for the win. Montgomery puts up 17 and DaUnderdog takes out the reigning champs!
That’s it for the preview! Good luck and can’t wait to see who wins!
