My Picks Record:
Last Week: 5-1
Overall: 20-10
teamAlaska (5-0) vs Pack Attack (0-5)
teamAlaska has had an amazing start to their season as they have gone 5-0 and sit on top of the league standings. What do they get for a reward in Week 6? A bye! Well, I guess they have to play the winless Pack Attack team… so yeah a bye! teamAlaska is averaging 144.93 points per game. They are on pace for 2029 points this season which would shatter their previous best season of 1664 set last year. Also, if they continue at this pace they would have the 3rd highest scoring team in league history! It is early but this has been about as good of a 5 game stretch as we have seen any team have. The only one better I could find is in 2010 when Rapids Plungers started off the season 9-0 and in the first 5 games averaged an incredible 168.58 points per game. teamAlaska has been on a roll and I don’t see it slowing down this week!

16hrs Ahead of You!! (2-3) vs HHH (2-3)
It is fitting that these two teams meet each other this week as both of them started out the season at 0-3 and have now won their last two games and one of these teams after this week will have won three straight games and clawed their way back to .500 on the season. This is a big early season game and with the bye weeks starting anything can happen!
Prediction:
As I mentioned bye weeks are here and they hit 16hrs a bit harder then HHH as they will be without their starting QB (D. Carr) and D. Henry this week. They seemed to have found a suitable replacement for Carr by picking up G. Smith in free agency but there are not too many D. Henry’s to be found on the waiver wire! HHH will be without J. Williams who has been a key contributor to their team through 5 weeks. Interestingly enough both teams will be starting two TE’s this week to fill those gaps mentioned. Both teams have been scoring pretty well the last two weeks however I expect that to change a bit this week and it to be a lower scoring game. This one may come down to the health of T. Higgins. If he goes I like HHH in this one. If he doesn’t play that hurts Burrow and HHH as a whole. My pick is HHH to get their third win in a row and move back to .500.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 19
- Record: Advantage HHH at 10-9
- PPG Avg: Advantage HHH 109.13 to 102.45
Big Papa (3-2) vs PackerFANatic7 (1-4)
After starting out the season 2-0, Big Papa has lost two of their last three games and will be looking to get back into the win column this week against a PackerFANatic7 team that is “offensively challenged” which is a nice way of saying their team stinks right now! They have lost three games in a row and have failed to score over 89 points in either of those losses. It isn’t looking much better this week for PackerFanatic7 as they got hit hard with bye weeks as they have 4 players on a bye including their top 2 WR’s (Adams and A. St. Brown). For Big Papa, they will be missing T. Hockenson and DJ Chark to bye weeks and J. Conner looks like he may miss this one due to injury. Otherwise, they are ready to go and will be looking to get back into that win column.
Prediction:
I don’t usually like to say a team doesn’t have a chance because anything can happen in fantasy football but I don’t really see PackerFANatic7 having a chance in this one and a 70 or fewer point week seems likely. Big Papa with the easy win here.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 5
- Record: Advantage Big Papa at 3-2
- PPG Avg: Advantage Big Papa 111.05 to 99.05
DaUnderdog (4-1) vs BIGBOY! (3-2)
DaUnderdog is coming off their first loss of the season and it is always interesting to see how teams respond to some adversity. DaUnderdog has been flying high since they won their first championship back in January and they will be looking to start another winning streak as they take on a BIGBOY! squad that record wise is fine but that doesn’t tell the whole story as they have done a great job of finding ways to win through 5 games. They haven’t been dominating but they have been able to do what matters and that is score more points then their opponent. This isn’t a team that I expect to sit at the bottom (or near the bottom) of points scored for long as I expect them to get things going. Will this be the week? Can they send the reigning champ to a 2 game losing streak?
Prediction:
Both teams won’t be missing players due to bye weeks and I expect this to be a very competitive game. A lot hinges on the health of K. Allen for BIGBOY! as when he is healthy he can be a huge difference maker. The fact that they play on Monday makes this difficult for BIGBOY! as his status may not be known until close to game time. I am however going to stick with DaUnderdog to get the win in a close one which would be a rare win for them against BIGBOY! as BIGBOY! has dominated this matchup in the previous 12 meetings.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 12
- Record: Advantage BIGBOY! at 10-2
- PPG Avg: Advantage BIGBOY! 116.52 to 97.79
Bossman (3-2) vs Rapids Plungers (3-2)
Game of the Week! Two teams coming into this game with identical 3-2 records and they also have scored almost the same amount of points through 5 weeks with Rapids Plungers holding a 15 point edge. The point is that these look to be two very evenly matched teams. In addition to this years teams and their even game this week these two teams are historically two of the best! They are #1 and #2 in career regular season winning percentage with Bossman holding a .607 to .601 edge. They are #1 (tied with Pack Attack) and #2 in most winning seasons with Bossman again holding a slight edge at 12 to 11. Combined they have played 30 seasons, made the playoffs in 19 of those seasons, appeared in 8 Super Bowls, and won 3 championships which in Super Bowl XVI they played against each other. Rapids Plungers got the win in that one and their first ever Super Bowl win! There are some really good rivalries in the league but Bossman / Rapids Plungers due to their success in the league have to be one of the better ones going right now!
Prediction:
Bossman is coming off their worst week of the season so I expect a much better game from them while Rapids Plungers is coming off their best week and may be getting M. Thomas back. I am not convinced that J. Taylor plays this week and T. Hill may have a third string QB throwing him the ball which doesn’t line up well for Bossman. They do have a suitable replacement in K. Walker who is now the featured back in Seattle and Bossman has one of the deepest teams in the league. Rapids Plungers would need another big day from G. Davis and they need guys like C. Lamb to step up if they want to get the win in this one. I went back and forth but I like the overall depth with Bossman as I see numerous guys that could put up big points this week. Bossman to win a close one that will in all likelihood come down to the Sunday night game.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 14
- Record: Advantage Rapids Plungers at 9-5
- PPG Avg: Advantage Rapids Plungers 136.69 to 121.79
pack slayer (2-3) vs Starrfavrerodg (2-3)
This is always a big game when you have two teams battling to get back to that .500 mark on the season. Every year we have numerous teams like these two where they win some and then they lose some and they can’t ever seem to get over that hump and put together a nice winning streak to push them into the top teams category. I expect these two teams to likely sit in the mix all season the big question is will either of them find a way to get on that winning streak I mentioned? Getting back to .500 this week is the first place to start. So who will it be?
Prediction:
Bye weeks are affecting both teams but really it is just hitting Starrfavrerodg as they will be without their two top RB’s this week (D. Pierce and J. Jacobs). That might be exactly the break pack slayer needs. However, Starrfavrerodg has some players (WR’s in particular) that if they come to play and perform at the levels they can then they have a shot at winning this one despite the RB situation. pack slayer however doesn’t have much outside of CMC at RB and he has been good but not quite to the level we all have come accustomed to seeing from him. I know Yahoo doesn’t like Starrfavrerodg this week but in keeping with tradition this season for Starrfavrerodg I expect this one to come down to the final two games of the week. Sutton is going to need to score 18 points for pack slayer to win and while he will get close I think Starrfavrerodg pulls this one off and moves to .500 on the season.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 3
- Record: Advantage pack slayer at 2-1
- PPG Avg: Advantage Starrfavrerodg 125.09 to 123.55
Sportsfreak (2-3) vs U Don’t Know (3-2)
U Don’t Know was able to stop their two game losing streak with a big win last week against Big Papa now Sportsfreak will be looking to do the same against them as they have now lost 3 straight games after starting the season out with a promising 2-0 start. In looking at this U Don’t Know team it is worth pointing out that they are 9.13 points away from being 5-0. How? Well they lost in Week 3 to bossman by 5.36 points and they lost the next week to 16hrs by a mere 3.76 points. Those are their only two losses of the season. So is this team really better then their 3-2 mark? This week may tell us a little more about this team in a game on paper they should win. This is a big one for Sportsfreak as a win not only stops the three game losing streak but it puts them back to .500 and hopefully could be the start of a winning streak! A loss and things can start getting ugly quickly.
Prediction:
Bye weeks are hitting both teams as Sportsfreak is going to be without Swift (who has been out with injury anyway) and D. Waller while U Don’t Know has to replace R. Woods and D. Carlson (who happens to be the #1 kicker in the league). Little bit of a “squirrel” moment here as I was curious but D. Carlson as the #1 kicker in the league through 5 weeks has outscored 7, yes 7 of the first round picks in this years draft. He has outscored the following players: J. Taylor, D. Cook, A. Kamara, N. Harris, J. Mixon, J. Chase and C. Lamb! I clearly don’t expect this to hold all season but through 5 weeks it is certainly interesting AND annoying if you have any of those guys I mentioned above. Ok, back to the game. Who wins? I think U Don’t Know wins this one. There just isn’t enough firepower for Sportsfreak to keep up. I do think they will have a shot going into the Monday night game with Herbert and Williams playing but I expect them to fall short and lose their 4th straight.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 16
- Record: Tied at 8-8
- PPG Avg: Advantage Sportsfreak 117.13 to 113.54
