XIX – Week 12 Preview

Posted on November 24, 2022November 24, 2022 by rkeepers1

My Picks Record:
Last Week: 4-2
Overall: 48-18

Bossman (8-3) vs Pack Attack (3-8)
These two teams have played a lot of games against each other in previous seasons however there is one big difference as in the past these games have usually been important to both teams as they battle for playoff positioning or maybe a first round bye but not this year and really not over the past 3 seasons as Pack Attack has failed to live up to their end of the bargain and are not winning enough games to even make it interesting. This seems like a complete mismatch as you have the best team in the league going against one of the worst who just lost three players due to injury this week. I am thinking this may be an easy win for Bossman! Maybe next year Pack Attack will actually field a competitive team!?

Prediction:
Check out the Yahoo predictions for this one!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 18
  • Record: Advantage Pack Attack at 10-8
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Pack Attack 127.98 to 122.95

16hrs Ahead of You!! (2-9) vs pack slayer (5-6)
The last three weeks pack slayer was given a tremendous opportunity to prove they belong among the playoff teams. They went 0-3 in those games and proved just the opposite. They will seemingly need to win the remainder of their games to have a realistic shot at a playoff berth now but that seems a little hard to see given their three game losing streak. 16hrs Ahead of you! is going to do everything they can to get out of the bottom of the rankings. They lost a tough one last week to Sportsfreak but the good news for them is that after this game they get to play Pack Attack and BIGBOY! and if they can find a way to win those games at a minimum they shouldn’t be finishing at the bottom of the league!

Prediction:
16hrs once again has some work to do with their lineup so it is hard to say for sure how things are going to look. I do think if they make a few tweaks to their lineup it could make things interesting but in the end I expect pack slayer to stop their 3 game losing streak and get back to .500 and send 16hrs to their 7th loss in a row.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 11
  • Record: Advantage pack slayer at 8-3
  • PPG Avg: Advantage pack slayer 114.44 to 97.42

Big Papa (7-4) vs Sportsfreak (4-7)
It’s the Father-Son game that are always fun! Big Papa showed no mercy taking down BIGBOY! in week 2 and now they get a chance to officially eliminate Sportsfreak from playoff contention with a win. Ok, I know that playoffs aren’t really in the cards for Sportsfreak so this game really only has appeal for Big Papa as they try to keep pushing their way towards the top of the standings while Sportsfreak is looking to play the role of spoiler and bragging rights at least for one week.

Prediction:
Sportsfreak is trying to avoid Big Papa getting the bragging rights over both BIGBOY! and himself AND not to mention they are looking like a playoff team and both Sportsfreak and BIGBOY! are not! It could be a long year in the Lindgren household if this continues. Sportsfreak can keep this one close but I like Big Papa to come away with another win and continue their rise in the standings!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 21
  • Record: Advantage Big Papa at 12-9
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Big Papa 117.47 to 112.11

BIGBOY! (3-8) vs Rapids Plungers (8-3)

BIGBOY! comes into this one having lost 6 straight games. Rapids Plungers comes into this one having won 5 straight games. This Rapids Plungers team is good. This BIGBOY! team is not. Rapids Plungers is working towards a first round bye in the playoffs. BIGBOY! is not. For those of you not catching the reference.. here you go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edyVNlo5uW0.

This game has a lot of importance for Rapids Plungers as they look to keep pace with Bossman and hang on to one of those top two spots.

Prediction:
I expect Rapids Plungers to do just that and come away with a relatively easy win in this one. BIGBOY! has showed me some things over the past couple of weeks however there is no way they are at the level of Rapids Plungers. Rapids Plungers gets the win to keep pace and sends BIGBOY! to a league worst 7 game losing streak!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 12
  • Record: Advantage Rapids Plungers at 7-5
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Rapids Plungers 133.11 to 111.08

U Don’t Know (7-4) vs DaUnderdog (6-5)

It has been awhile since DaUnderdog has played in a truly important, “must win” type of feel game but here we are. The defending champ is still in a good spot to make a playoff run but to get there it sure seems like you are going to need at a minimum 8 wins. A loss here and they would be for sure into the “must win” camp the remainder of the way. The reigning champ exceled last season with their backs against the wall so it will be interesting to see if they do the same this year. U Don’t Know is coming off a tough loss last week to Starrfavrerodg and in doing so missed out on a prime opportunity to be tied for 1st place. They still are sitting good as it pertains to the playoffs and a win here against a team that is right behind them would be huge step towards securing that playoff berth.

Prediction:
This one is going to be a good game! Both teams have one of their best players going in today’s games as DaUnderdog has J. Allen while U Don’t Know has Barkley. If one of those players has a monster game it could help to lead their team to victory this week. Allen has struggled but I am anticipating him to have a really strong game and lead DaUnderdog to a much needed victory in this one. DaUnderdog gets win #7 and allows them to control their own destiny for the remaining two games.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 16
  • Record: Advantage U Don’t Know at 9-7
  • PPG Avg: Advantage U Don’t Know 109.72 to 99.50

teamAlaska (7-4) vs HHH (7-4)
Game of the Week! What a game this one should be as not only do we have two good teams battling for playoff positioning but it is also a “brother battle”. Despite both of these teams having identical records it does feel like HHH is the favorite here given how well they have played since week 3 (7-1). teamAlaska started out the complete opposite as they were 7-1 to start the season and now they have lost their last 3 which leads us to this important game. It is possible that the loser falls out of playoff positioning completely and it is possible that the winner moves into a tie for 1st place. That’s a drastic potential difference in outcomes which adds even more importance to the game. Can HHH keep their hot streak going or will teamAlaska get back to their winning ways and break out of their 3 game skid!

Prediction:
Not only is this the best game of the week from a record perspective and what is at stake but it also according to Yahoo projections will be the closest game of the week. I do expect a really good game with some back and forth. teamAlaska has J. Jefferson and J. Meyers going today while HHH has J. Williams. If HHH can keep this close after today’s games I would be very confident in them winning however I do expect Jefferson and Meyers to have strong games and have a decent lead. HHH will make a comeback to cut things close but they will be losing by 7 going into Monday nights game with only M. Pittman remaining. Pittman will come through with a 15 point effort and HHH will win by 7 points to keep their hot streak going and send teamAlaska into a bit of disarray.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 19
  • Record: Advantage teamAlaska at 12-7
  • PPG Avg: Advantage HHH 117.53 to 114.92

Starrfavrerodg (7-4) vs PackerFANatic7 (3-8)
Starrfavrerodg just made it through on paper their toughest three game stretch of the season and they did so in flying colors finishing 3-0. That has catapulted their team up in the standings and they have proved over the last three weeks that they belong in the playoffs. They now have a “trap” game against a PackerFANatic7 team that has won two straight games after starting the season 1-8 and Starrfavrerodg will finish out their season against two of the better teams in the league (HHH and Rapids Plungers). If they can get this win here and go 1-1 the last two that may be enough to sneak in? We are down to three games so for those fighting for the playoffs every game matters! No pressure or anything but it would be disappointing if they won the last 3 games as mentioned and then lose here to PackerFANatic7!

Prediction:
This game is intriguing for me. It is hard to pick against Starrfavrerodg as they have been on a hot streak. However, PackerFANatic7 has fielded back to back strong weeks and is not looking like the 1 win team we saw just two weeks ago. They have some guys that are capable of blowing things up and taking over games, CMC, A. Jones, and D. Adams are the three I am thinking of. I am going to go out on a bit of a limb here and pick my upset of the week to be PackerFANatic7 to come away with the win. I am basing that on the fact that they will complete their roster by picking up a K and D players prior to game time. If so, they get the W!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 2
  • Record: Tied at 1-1
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Starrfavrerodg 122.81 to 117.82
