Bossman (125.66) vs Pack Attack (98.95)
Bossman takes care of business in this one and moves to 9-3 on the season. This wasn’t one of their better efforts but it didn’t need to be as Pack Attack was once again unable to find much for offense. With the win and loss by Rapids Plungers the path to the #1 overall seed is very clear. Win the next two games and they get the #1 overall seed and there is a scenario that they could lose once and still end up with that #1 spot or a first round bye but the easy / for sure path is just to win out. Pack Attack falls to an abysmal 3-9 on the season.
pack slayer (128.51) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (102.51)
pack slayer finally gets a win and breaks out of that 3 game losing streak but it may be a little too late as they are two games out with 2 games to play. It is possible but they are going to need to win the next two games and win them by scoring a lot of points so they can win a point tie breaker scenario. 16hrs loses for the 7th straight week and the only thing left to play for is not getting their name on the “longest losing streak” of all time list.
Big Papa (100.12) vs Sportsfreak (96.72)
This one turned out to be a really good game. The result was what I think most expected but a defensive battle wasn’t what I saw coming. This was Big Papa’s lowest scoring week since Week 3 when they scored 77 points in a loss. The good news in this one is that they were able to find a way to win and move to 8-4 on the season. This was their 4th win in a row and most importantly if the playoffs were to end today they would finish as the #2 seed and get that important first round bye. They hold the tie breaker over the rest of the five, 8-4 teams because of their points scored which is currently second in the league. It is all but a lock now that they are playoff bound! Sportsfreak put up a good effort but in the end they just didn’t have even enough firepower to get to 100 points and pull off the upset. They fall to 4-8 with the loss and will continue to look to play the role of spoiler over the next two weeks.
BIGBOY! (110.13) vs Rapids Plungers (107.84)
WOW! In what might be the biggest upset of the year BIGBOY! (4-8) breaks their 7 game losing streak and takes down Rapids Plungers. BIGBOY! had shown some signs of life over the past 3 weeks but that was meaning they were scoring in the 100 to 115 range which seemed like the ceiling for them at this point. Rapids Plungers was on a 5 game winning streak and on their off games were seemingly still scoring in that 100 to 115 range. For BIGBOY! to keep battling and get the win is impressive and something they can build on going into next year. The loss is huge for Rapids Plungers as they fall into that 5 way tie for playoff spots 2-6 and no longer control their own destiny as it pertains to a first round bye. This game had some back and forth as it looked like BIGBOY! was going to win this one rather easily before the Sunday night game happened. Rapids Plungers was really struggling to find any offense and then J. Hurts ran all over the Packers and put up 36 points to give Rapids Plungers the lead that seemed like it might be enough. Rapids Plungers was Leading 107.84 to 90.58 going into the Monday night game with just the Steelers D and TJ Watt remaining for BIGBOY! That is about a toss up as the Steelers D was in a good spot to score some points against Indy and TJ Watt is one of the most consistent D players in the league. Both came through with just enough points to lead BIGBOY! to their 4th win on the season!
U Don’t Know (128.13) vs DaUnderdog (114.91)
U Don’t Know gets the huge win in this one to move to 8-4 on the season and they have now won 4 of their last 5 games to put themselves in a great spot for a playoff berth. This one was close and it was looking like it may come down to the Kicker for DaUnderdog on the Monday Night game but then C. Watson scored on a 63 yarder late in the game which was approximately a 15 point play and basically put the game out of reach! It is going to take a mini miracle for the reigning champ to get into the playoffs now. They need to win out and get lots of help! U Don’t Know is right in the thick of things and have their eyes set on not just the playoffs but also making a run for that first round bye!
teamAlaska (128.49) vs HHH (116.91)
This was our game of the week coming into week 12 and it lived up to the hype. teamAlaska jumped out to an early lead with Jefferson and Elliott having solid games Thursday which meant that HHH was left to play catch up the rest of the way. They got a solid game from Ekeler on Sunday afternoon to make things feel within reach but the PHI D only scored 6 points and their D player (Gardner-Johnson) got hurt in the first quarter. They did have M. Pittman remaining in the Monday Nighter but he was going to need his best game of the season to pull off the comeback. Things got interesting when he scored a TD towards the end of the 3rd quarter and you could see a scenario where he could get the 100 yard bonus and another TD as Indy was playing from behind but that never happened and teamAlaska held on to the win and moves to 8-4 on the season. teamAlaska stops their 3 game losing streak and they needed to have this one. They now get to play Rapids Plungers and Bossman to finish out their season. The playoffs aren’t a given but their chances look much better after this win. HHH has now lost 2 of their last 3 games and currently is the team all of the 8-4 teams want to see lose as they are the only 7-5 team which means they are realistically the biggest threat to knock one of them out of the playoffs. The schedule isn’t easy for them as they go up against Starrfavrerodg and U Don’t Know but the good news for them is this. If they win those two games they will be in the playoffs. This was a tough loss but the goal of getting to the playoffs is still right there!
Starrfavrerodg (146.77) vs PackerFANatic7 (133.59)
Wow! I think that sums up this one. You know sometimes it is just your year and sometimes it is not and this game goes to show that it just may be Starrfavrerodg’s year and for PackerFANatic7 pretty sure it is not. Why? Well anytime you score 133 points and lose by 13 points that is tough luck but it is even worse when the team you lost to had one player go off and score a season high 57.92 points! Josh Jacobs may have just punched a ticket to the playoffs for starrfavrerodg with that performance! Starrfavrerodg now has won 6 straight games (longest active streak in the league) and is currently sitting at the #5 seed with two games remaining. This was a huge win as they have tough games against HHH and Rapids Plungers to close out the regular season but the playoffs seem likely and that first round bye is not out of the question! PackerFanatic7 saw their record fall to 3-9 but this team has been playing as well as anyone the past 3 weeks. They have scored, 149, 131 and 133 the past three games and doesn’t look at all like the team that was having troubles scoring 80 points during their recent 7 game losing streak. With games against U Don’t Know and DaUnderdog remaining they will be looking to play the role of spoiler.
That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!
