PackerFANatic7 (1-7) vs Pack Attack (1-7)
Game of the week! No wait, maybe game of the year! That is if you are the GM of one of these two terrible teams. The loser here is in the drivers seat for finishing in last place in the league while the winner will do something they have only done one other time on the season and that is get a win! Good luck PackerFANatic7 and here’s to hoping my team stinks a bit less then yours this week!

16hrs Ahead of You!! (2-6) vs DaUnderdog (5-3)
What a rollercoaster of a week for DaUnderdog. They had the game that was going back and forth against teamAlaska and I am sure they stayed up way to late keeping an eye on to see if they would win. Then they do win to move themselves into a three way tie for first only to find out this morning that there was a stat correction and they actually lost that game and now instead of tied for first they are sitting at the 6th and final playoff spot! The good news is that they get to go up against a struggling 16hrs team that has now lost 3 straight games and they really haven’t been competitive in any of them. This suddenly is a very important game for DaUnderdog.
Prediction:
I don’t expect a lot of points to be scored in this one which has been the norm as of late for 16hrs and to some level for DaUnderdog. Whenever there looks to be a low scoring game I tend to favor the team with the player(s) that could single handedly win the game and for DaUnderdog I see 3 players (J. Allen, Waddle and J. Mixon) that I could put into that category and for 16hrs I see 1 (D. Henry) and maybe 2 (Fournette or Lockett). With that said, I trust J. Allen and Waddle way more as they have been doing it all season and if the Titans fall behind D. Henry’s usage could diminish. DaUnderdog with the win.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 20
- Record: Advantage DaUnderdog at 12-8
- PPG Avg: Advantage DaUnderdog 104.68 to 101.31
Big Papa (4-4) vs Bossman (6-2)
Bossman comes into this game having won 3 straight and 6 of their last 7 and looks like a team on a mission to get to the top. Ultimately, the most important regular season outside of making the playoffs is to finish in the #1 or #2 position so you can get the week off and that first round bye. Bossman is currently there at the #2 spot and just waiting for teamAlaska to slip up. Big Papa seems to be going in a bit of a different direction as they have now lost 3 of their last 4 games and are in danger of falling below .500 for the first time all season. You could say this game has more significance for Big Papa given their record but when you are battling for one of those top 2 spots in the league like Bossman is every week counts! This should be one of the better week 9 games.
Prediction:
Yahoo has this projected as the highest scoring game of the week and while I could see it happening I am not sure I agree with that. There are some question marks for both teams such as will J. Taylor or B. Cooks play for Bossman and while I assume Kupp will be playing as of this writing he hasn’t practiced this week. I do however see this being a good game but I am not sure that I see enough firepower for Big Papa to win. I like Bossman to get their 4th win in a row this week.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 16
- Record: Advantage Bossman at 11-5
- PPG Avg: Advantage Bossman 121.13 to 108.81
U Don’t Know (5-3) vs BIGBOY! (3-5)
U Don’t Know got back to their winning ways last week with a win over Pack Attack and now they get the luxury of going up against another as Yahoo so eloquently points out “Offensively challenged” BIGBOY! team. U Don’t Know is right in the mix of everything. If they get on a bit of a hot streak you could see them make a big move and be in the mix for one of those playoff byes. If they struggle you could also easily see them fall out of playoff contention. I say that because I am not 100% sure about this team, they have shown flashes of being really good and then the last couple of weeks more on the average side. That makes this game that much more important as they need to find a way to beat the teams they are favored because after this they get teamAlaska, starrfavrerodg and DaUnderdog. For BIGBOY! they are still in the mix but they have shown me nothing that would signify that they really have a shot at being a playoff team. This team needs to find a way to win a big game like this and build some momentum for the stretch run.
Prediction:
Both teams are missing a weapon or two due to bye’s as BIGBOY! will be without Deebo and U Don’t Know is missing Barkley and Freiermuth. As bad as BIGBOY! has been I actually could see this turning into a good game. If there was ever a time for the MVP type of Rodgers to come back it would be this week against a Lions D that is giving up the 3rd most fantasy points to QB’s. I also look at the other side of the ball and see T. Brady who has struggled equally as bad as Rodgers. Maybe this is the week these two old QB’s show up? I would not hold my breathe on that and I expect this to be a low scoring first to 100 wins type of game. I would say this one isn’t decided until Monday night and K. Drake comes through with a 10 point game to give U Don’t Know the win.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 12
- Record: Tied at 6-6
- PPG Avg: Advantage BIGBOY! 124.55 to 122.86
Starrfavrerodg (4-4) vs teamAlaska (7-1)
It seems every year there is that team that everything just “clicks” and this year so far that team is teamAlaska. Need proof? Well even when you think you have them beat two days later the NFL makes stat corrections and teamAlaska wins their league leading 7th game on the season. Collusion? teamAlaska have some in with the stat guys at NFL headquarters? No matter what you think the fact of the matter is that this is the best team in the league and they are going to be tough to beat. Starrfavrerodg has had an interesting season so far as they have won some close games and lost some close games. This team could easily be 2-6 right now or 6-2 but instead they are 4-4 and I am not sure if this is good team, an average team, a contending team or a lucky team. Don’t worry those questions should be answered over the course of next three games (teamAlaska, DaUnderdog, U Don’t Know) and it starts this week against the top team in the league.
Prediction:
teamAlaska has 5 players on a bye this week including Chubb and Jeudy. Starrfavrerodg will be missing D. Johnson due to the bye and J. Chase due to injury so neither team is at full strength in this one. Of all the games this week this is the hardest one for me to pick. I fully expect that teamAlaska will be losing going into the Monday night game however the big question is by how much because they have their top player in L. Jackson going that night. Lamar has however been what I would call average over the course of the past 5 weeks so he is due for a blow up type of game. They will be at NO, in a dome.. I am going to go with teamAlaska to get the win thanks to one of those monster games from L. Jackson.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 2
- Record: Tied at 1-1
- PPG Avg: Advantage Starrfavrerodg 119.84 to 99.81
HHH (5-3) vs pack slayer (5-3)
Here is your game of the week for numerous reasons. #1 both of these teams have been playing really good football as HHH has now won 5 straight games while pack slayer has won 3 straight. Both teams are sitting at identical 5-3 records and looking to separate themselves from the pack and put themselves in a position for one of those two first round byes. #3 the game itself looks like it should be a good one as yes there are a couple of guys out with bye’s but they even themselves out. So who wins? Will pack slayer keep the momentum going from their scoring outburst last week or will HHH cool them down and win their 6th in a row?
Prediction:
I could see this going both ways but as I am looking at this game there are a couple of really “sneaky” good plays for HHH such as the PHI defense and then double down on that with a Phi D player in tonight’s game. It wouldn’t surprise me if those two positions are able to keep pace with AJ Brown for pack slayer and if that happens I like HHH to win. pack slayer may need another 30 point effort from the likes of Hopkins and Brown to get the win. While that certainly isn’t out of the question, I don’t see it happening this week. I am expecting a good, close game but HHH gets win #6 in a row.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 11
- Record: Advantage pack slayer at 6-5
- PPG Avg: Advantage HHH 118.38 to 107.11
Rapids Plungers (5-3) vs Sportsfreak (3-5)
Rapids Plungers comes into this week having won 3 of their last 4 games and are a mere .08 points away from that being 4 straight games if you needed a reminder. This team has been relatively consistent most of the year with only one sub 100 point game and they somehow found a way to win that one. If they can continue there level of play they are no doubt a playoff team but I am not sure I have seen enough to consider them a real threat to win a championship. I can see the pieces but what I haven’t seen is those pieces all playing a solid game at the same time. Maybe this will be the week? For Sportsfreak this is a big game. They got the win in Week 7 to break their losing streak but they missed out on a golden opportunity to move back to .500 on the season last week. They now get to go up against Rapids Plungers this week and Bossman next. If they go 1-1 in those games they will still have some life but if they lose both you can pretty much put a fork in their season!
Prediction:
Rapids Plungers will be missing C. Lamb their top receiver this week due to a bye and that seemingly levels the playing field however I still think this is a game Rapids Plungers wins. Sportsfreak has a couple of guys truly questionable (Swift and Waller) and with 4 bench players on a bye it is going to be tough for them. I like Rapids Plungers to get win #6 this week!
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 14
- Record: Advantage Rapids Plungers at 10-4
- PPG Avg: Advantage Rapids Plungers 133.03 to 125.57
