Pack Attack (161.39) vs Starrfavrerodg (125.60)
It’s been awhile since Pack Attack has started a season with two wins. In fact, you have to go all the way back to the 2012 season as the last time Pack Attack has started a season at 2-0 or better. That’s a long time ago and for those of you wondering yes that year they did win the championship. It’s a good start but it’s just two games and they have a long ways to go to finally get back into the top 6 and a playoff team. Starrfavrerodg (1-1) put up a good fight as it looked like this one may be a blowout early on however they got great performances from D. Jones (31.95) and CMC (22.68) to make this respectable. Despite the loss, Starrfavrerodg has to feel fairly good about their team. They have scored the 3rd most points through 3 weeks and they just put up 125 without one of their top players in A. Jones.
16hrs Ahead of You!! (102.38) vs HHH (100.97)
We had some really close games this week that were not decided until Monday night however this was the weirdest and potentially most heart breaking of all of them. The score heading into Monday night’s games was 16hrs Ahead of you with 100.45 and HHH with 96.70. Both had one player, 16hrs had J. Williams who looked set for a big workload again while HHH had N. Chubb who as you all know is one of the better RB’s in the league. J. Williams ends up getting injured and is out for the game while only scoring 1.93 points. At this point you kind of expect that N. Chubb and HHH are going to win this game. Chubb was running well and it was just a matter of time before he at a minimum went over the 100 yard mark and the 5 point bonus. However, if you watched the game you saw one of the more gruesome injuries happen to N Chubb and he was out of course out for the remainder of the game. Not only did HHH lose this game by a mere 1.41 points but they also lost N Chubb for the season. A tough loss for HHH and a terrible injury for Chubb. Hopefully he can recover quickly and is back next season! For now though, 16hrs gets the improbable win and moves to 1-1 on the season while sending HHH to an 0-2 start.
BIGBOY! (133.62) vs Big Papa (85.37)
This was a nice bounce back type of game for BIGBOY! as they move to 2-0 on the season. By bounce back in mean in the scoring department because although they did win in Week 1 it was by far the ugliest win of any team and it really didn’t tell us anything other then they luckily played a team that had an a slightly worst week then them. This week however they took down their Dad (Big Papa) and the reigning champion in the league by a resounding 48 points. To start the season at 2-0 despite not having C. Kupp for either games is impressive and they will look to keep things going next week against Sportsfreak.
Big Papa (0-2) is finding out how hard it is to duplicate the success they had last season and has now fallen to 0-2. Prior to the week starting they pulled off the first trade of the year with Rapids Plungers. Big Papa got T. Allgeir and DJ Moore but had to trade away their first round pick and in my opinion their best player in B. Robinson. At first glance this seems like a bit of a head scratcher type of trade as why trade away someone who has the potential to end up as the top RB in fantasy at seasons end (B Robinson) for a backup RB (Allgeir) and a starting WR (Moore) for a team that doesn’t like to throw the ball? Barring injury I think Big Papa may regret this one at seasons end and Rapids Plungers may have to buy his Father in law a nice Christmas gift this year!
Bossman (180.42) vs DaUnderdog (110.26)
Really!? How do they do it every year? Once again it’s another week where Bossman (2-0) goes out and gets the W. This week however was slightly different then last as they left no doubt by cruising to a 70 point victory. 180 points scored in a week is no joke, in fact I did some quick looking and this is the 4th highest scoring week Bossman has ever had. In 2015 that had a week where they scored 186.79 points and in 2020 they actually had two different weeks scoring higher then 180 (182.61 and 189.56). How do you score 180 points on a week? You have 5 players scoring over 21 points and one of those players with 30. And apparently QB’s don’t matter because D Watson for Bossman only had 8 points. An impressive win for Bossman as they once again look like a team that will be contending come December. DaUnderdog falls to a tough 0-2 start although they did see a big improvement from Week 1 to Week 2 as they scored almost 40 more points this week it wasn’t nearly enough to try and keep up with Bossman. They get 16hrs Ahead of You!! next week as they look for their first win of the season.
pack slayer (103.40) vs U Don’t Know (95.12)
pack slayer is off to a nice start as they take down U Don’t Know to move to 2-0 on the season. It wasn’t necessarily pretty but who cares as you are just looking for wins at this point. This turned out to be a really good game as like a number of other games this week it came down to Monday night. pack slayer had Olave going while U Don’t Know had Pickens, M Thomas, M. Sanders and P Freiermuth all left to play. pack slayer was up 93.10 to 50.25 going into the games on Monday. U Don’t Know got a big game from Pickens (21.35) but the other players couldn’t muster up enough points to lead them to a win. U Don’t Know drops to 0-2 and is going to need more from their top overall pick, J. Chase if they are going to break out of the their mini slump here. pack slayer will be looking to keep their momentum going as they go up against Pack Attack in Week 3.
PackerFANatic7 (108.44) vs Sportsfreak(108.22)
There were a lot of close games this week but this wins the award of being the closest. This was a close game all the way through, PackerFANatic7 (1-1_ had a small lead heading into the Sunday night game and was just hoping that the NE defense could keep T. Hill from having a monster game. They did just that by holding Hill to 13.60 points and the Miami D did just enough (9pts) to ultimately give Sportsfreak (1-1) the lead 108.22 to 107.74 heading into Monday’s game. PackerFANatic7 had one player remaining so this should be an easy win right? Not really when that one player is your D player. That D player sure did make things interesting as B Burns scored a measly .70 points, his stat line was 2 Tack Ast and that’s it! Not even one tackle on the game! That was enough for PackerFANatic7 to get the win. Interesting fact however is that PackerFANatic7 dropped their previous D player, Marcus Maye (safety for the Saints) on Sunday evening at 10:23PM. Maye scored 8.95 points. Had they lost this game because of that move I am not sure they could have recovered from that. They did however get the win and are now 1-1 heading into next week where they will be hoping they can get C Watson and A Ekeler back from injury.
Sportsfreak was the tough luck loser in this one as they just couldn’t get anything going. They found out it is much harder to win games when you don’t have T Hill scoring 53 points. They go up against the 2-0 BIGBOY! team next week in a brother battle while PackerFANatic7 will be facing the red hot Bossman squad!
***It’s always worth mentioning in close games like this that one small change / stat correction and this game could easily switch to a Sportsfreak win. For example, if it is determined that PackerFANatic7’s D player only got 1 tackle assisted vs 2 Sportsfreak wins! So do we really know who won this game yet? All stat corrections will be listed by Thursday morning at the latest. ***
Rapids Plungers (127.87) vs teamAlaska (124.32)
And last but not least we have another game that came down to Monday night. Rapids Plungers was up 127.87 to 107.64. teamAlaska had E. Moore, D. Njoku and R. Shaheed remaining to play. Things got really interesting as E. Moore got a couple of catches in the last drive for Cleveland but ultimately teamAlaska fell just short. Rapids Plungers gets the win and it seemed like they had already won this week before it started by pulling off what seems like an amazing trade to get B Robinson on their team. This team is now 2-0, just added B. Robinson and will have only one more week without A Kamara. This is looking another one of those great regular season teams for Rapids Plungers as they move to 2-0 on the season.
teamAlaska comes close yet again but once again falls just short as they fall to 0-2 on the season. They lost in week 1 by 10 points and then this week by 3 and both weeks scored over 110 points. This is seemingly a team that shouldn’t be 0-2 but that is where they sit after two weeks. They go up against Big Papa next week in a battle of 0-2 teams.
That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!
