XX – Week 14 Recap

Posted on December 12, 2023December 12, 2023 by rkeepers1

Pack Attack (111.57) vs teamAlaska (98.22)

It sure looked like teamAlaska was going to be able to come away with the win after J. Jefferson went down only a few plays into the game and then J. Herbert goes down which hurt K. Allen’s production. Going into the Sunday night game teamAlaska was down by 4 points by just a few points with Pollard and J. Elliott going while Pack Attack had B. Aubrey their kicker. Aubrey decided to take the game into his own hands by scoring 24.40 points and outscoring Elliott and Pollard combined. Who ever said Kickers don’t matter? This one still came down to Monday night as teamAlaska had J. Love while Pack Attack had Achane and Packers D. Love had an off game by only scoring 6.49 points and Achane and Packers D did just enough for Pack Attack to hang on to the win. The win secured a first round bye and the #2 spot for Pack Attack while teamAlaska falls to .500 on the season. It was a solid season and they battled until the end but ultimately just not quite enough juice to get into the playoffs this year!

16hrs Ahead of You!! (131.26) vs pack slayer (127.91)

WOW! What a game this one turned out to be and given everything that was at stake for pack slayer what a disappointing way to end your season. pack slayer was down by 3 heading into the Monday night games with Tua and Saquon left to play. 16hrs had D. Henry and C. Okonkwo going. This really seemed to favor pack slayer and for much of the night that was the case as Saquon scored a TD early which gave them the lead and they held on to that lead until the very end when out of nowhere the Titans got some life and worked their way all the way down to the 3 yard line looking for the go ahead score against the Dolphins. They handed it to D. Henry with 1:49 remaining on the clock and he scored his second TD of the game and that gave 16hrs the lead and the game as Tua was awful all night only scoring 3.80 points on the night! The loss pushes pack slayer out of the playoffs. pack slayer had been struggling most of the season to find a roster that can win the big game and interestingly enough they had their two best back to back games of the season but it wasn’t quite enough and now they are left competing in the consolation round. A solid season but just not quite enough. 16hrs ahead of you finished the season really strong by beating Starrfavrerodg and pack slayer to close things out and they too had their best back to back games of the season. That 3 game losing streak from weeks 10-12 looms large. They will bring this momentum into the consolation rounds next week.

Big Papa (94.74) vs Rapids Plungers (141.87)

Rapids Plungers takes care of business in this one as they dominate to get to 9 wins on the season. They were hoping it would be enough to get that first round bye but with both Bossman and Pack Attack winning they finish at the #3 spot. Big Papa had a rough season as they attempted to defend their title from a year ago. They finished with three straight losses and a 5-9 record but like usual were competitive most weeks. They did just squeak into the consolation bracket so they get a week or two of something to play for. Rapids Plungers finishes with off another season with 9 or more wins. That is the 8th time they have done so in the 16 seasons they have now played and they are back in the playoffs for the 11th time in 16 seasons. That’s impressive consistency and they will be looking to start off strong next week in the Wild card round of the playoffs.

Bossman (99.79) vs HHH (94.56)

Whoa! This almost turned out to be disastrous for Bossman as HHH came storming back in this one and almost stole the win from Bossman. Going into the game HHH was down by 54 points with three players to go (AJ Dillon, D Hopkins & J. Reed). It didn’t look too interesting for most of the game until both J Reed (17.88) and D. Hopkins (24.20) started taking off and all of a sudden this one got really close really quick. In the end it came down to whether or not D. Hopkins would score a TD for the Titans and instead that TD went to D. Henry and Bossman held on to the win to move to 9-5 on the season. That’s a BIG win for Bossman but man… if ever there was a win that didn’t feel like a win this one was it. They were coming into this game having lost 3 straight and now they beat the one win HHH squad by just 5 points? That’s what I would call limping into the playoffs. The good news for them is that they now have the bye and will hopefully be healthy when they play again in two weeks. HHH battled until the end which is good to see but their 1 win season will go down in history as one of the worst ever and now I can stop talking about them until next season.

DaUnderdog (107.55) vs Sportsfreak (81.22)

DaUnderdog (9-5) keeps doing what they have done all season as they once again find a way to win and they are now back in the playoffs after a one year absence. It hasn’t always been easy for them but there probably isn’t a team hotter in the league right now then DaUnderdog. They enter the playoffs having won 5 of their last 6 games and will be looking to take that momentum into the first round as they go up against BIGBOY! This game could have been seemingly a little tighter had injuries not played a factor as J. Herbert was knocked out of the game for Sportsfreak and also T. Hill played maybe the equivalent of a quarter or two due to an ankle injury he suffered in game. That however has been Sportsfreak’s season as they seemed to have a solid team but just couldn’t put it all together at the right time. They will miss the playoffs for the 6th straight season which is tied with PackerFANatic7 for the longest active streak in the league. I guess that saying goes there’s always next year but for Sportsfreak that is getting old!

BIGBOY! (118.11) vs PackerFANatic7 (109.06)

BIGBOY! got the job done when it mattered most as they get the win and get to 9 wins on the season to secure the playoff berth. This has been an interesting year for them but they finished off the season on a high note with their best week since week 10. The goal in any season is just to get into that top 6 no matter how you do it because at that point anything can happen and that is exactly what they did. PackerFANatic7 did cause a bit of a scare as W. Levis (16.54) and W. Robinson (12.35) started racking up points but in the end they came up just a bit short. PackerFANatic7 finished their season strong starting with week 10 but it was by far too little too late and they will miss the playoffs for the 6th straight season which is tied with Sportsfreak as the longest streak in the league. BIGBOY! gets back to the playoffs after a tough 4 win season from a year ago and now they have their eyes set on proving the doubters wrong and not only winning a playoff game but winning the whole thing!

Starrfavrerodg (130.00) vs U Don’t Know (100.97)

Going into the week there was two orders of business for Starrfavrerodg. #1 was winning their game which they did rather easily thanks to solid performances from Browning (21.97), Mostert (19.60) and NO Defense (21). The next order of business was hoping and praying for one of DaUnderdog, BIGBOY! or pack slayer to lose. Order of business #2 complete as pack slayer loses on a last second TD to open the playoff doors for Starrfavrerodg. This is Starrfavrerodg’s 4th season and they have now made the playoffs in 3 of those seasons. Their road to a championship begins next week against Rapids Plungers! U Don’t Know had a disappointing season as they finish with 5 wins and their first losing season since 2016. They just couldn’t get things going in part due to Mahomes / Chase not living up to expectations. They also missed out on the consolation round so their season is officially over. See you next year U Don’t Know!

That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!
