DaUnderdog (0-0) vs Pack Attack (0-0)
It’s a brother battle to start off week 1 and then of course that means these two teams will meet again to end the season. DaUnderdog kicked off their fantasy season with a solid D- draft grade and will be hoping to go up from there! However, I will say that getting Breece Hall at pick 6 of the first round seems like a really solid pick considering his potential so maybe we move that grade up a bit! This will be a good test for both teams as they are both coming off 9-5 playoff seasons from a year ago and will be looking to build off of that. Neither of these teams have anyone going in the opener but DaUnderdog has his strong contingent of Packers players for the Friday game! This one may come down to Monday night as Pack Attack has CMC going while DaUnderdog has the aforementioned B. Hall and D. Samuel. This should be a good one!

16hrs Ahead of You!! (0-0) vs HHH (0-0)
HHH is coming off one of the worst seasons in the history of the league as they were only able to find a way to get 1 win (1-13)! They are certainly excited about starting a new year and hopefully matching their win total from a year ago with a win in week 1. 16hrs on the other hand has had one of the better three year stretches of their career over the past three seasons. They haven’t had much playoff success but they have made the playoffs and also finished at or above .500 in two of those. Another strong season here and maybe just maybe this team can change the narrative surrounding them as right now I am thinking they are the team kind of like the Detroit Lions had been for so many years. The team that was never good and ever was just rooting for them to win a few games every year and now all of a sudden Detroit is good and maybe 16hrs is turning that corner too. We will find out soon enough!
Prediction:
This matchup as shown below has been outstanding over the years with HHH win 11 of the 21 games thus far and this looks like it should be another close game! So I really like this 16hrs team the only thing I don’t like (and that is why autodrafting stinks) is two WR’s from the same team. They have both M Evans and C Godwin who are two solid players so if you are going to have two from one team this isn’t a terrible option. I love K. Murray and G Wilson this year and right now I am probably higher on Kyren Williams and K Walker then most. HHH has one of the better starting RB duos in the league with S. Barkley and J Gibbs. I also really like DeVonta Smith and M Nabers this season and I may regret saying this but I think T. Lawrence also is in for a nice season. For this week however, I like 16hrs to start out the season strong and get the win in week 1.

Big Papa (0-0) vs BIGBOY! (0-0)
You got to love the Father-Son matchup to start off the season! BIGBOY! is coming off another solid season that saw them take home a 3rd place finish. They ended up losing in the Divisional round to the eventual super bowl champion Bossman. After winning back to back Super Bowls in the 2017 and 2018 seasons they had been struggling a bit but making the playoffs in two of the last three seasons has me thinking this team may be close to another championship run! Big Papa is coming off a rough 5 win season especially considering it was a defending super bowl champion season. It is hard to repeat as champion as you get everyone’s best shot and Big Papa found that out the hard way. They will be looking for a fast start this week against a tough opponent. As far as draft grades go, BIGBOY! hit a homerun with an A grade while Big Papa struggled and got a C-. This is not typical as Big Papa typically gets one of the better draft report cards. Maybe that is just what they need as you know what they say? The A students end up working for the C students (or something like that)! Time for Big Papa to teach his son a lesson this week?
Prediction:
The RB and TE position are outstanding for Big Papa. In fact at the end of the year it wouldn’t surprise me to see this RB duo finish top in the league along with LaPorta finishing as TE1. I love Bijan Robinson this season and I think Etienne finishes in the top 7 for RB’s. For BIGBOY! they have one of the more boring teams in the league. Is that bad? Nope and in fact sometimes that is exactly what you need to win in a 14 team league. The likes of J. Conner, T Kelce, C Kirk and B Purdy are all boring but they are all very effective. Purdy is rarely going to get you that 30 to 40 point game but he will get that 17-25 consistently and the other guys I mentioned are the same. With that said, barring injury I expect this to be one of the more fairly consistent 110 point scoring team which is a lot of times enough to win games. I like this matchup and I expect it to be a close one but I am going to go with Big Papa to find a way to get the win and get their season off to a strong start.

Bossman (0-0) vs Starrfavrerodg (0-0)
Another season and another chance for Bossman to show us all that this is their league and we are all playing for 2nd place! Bossman is coming off of yet another outstanding season and one in which they got back to the Super Bowl and finally won it this time! Just incase anyone forgot this was Bossman’s 4th super bowl appearance in the last 5 seasons! That’s amazing consistency in a deep re-draft league like this. Looking at this season they got the 9th pick and somehow ended up with Justin Jefferson, Josh Allen and Trey McBride who could all finish at the top of their position this season! It looks like another good season coming for Bossman and with another playoff season they would tie the record of 6 straight seasons making the playoffs! Starrfavrerodg has only been in the league for 4 seasons but they are gaining the reputation of one of the better teams in the league each year as they have made the playoffs in 3 of their first 4 seasons. Beginners luck? No, I think this is all related to draft day and how they always do such a solid job in picking their team… oh wait! They always have to coach “real” football and never make the draft! I guess maybe it has something to do with how they manage their team after! This is a good test for them as they go up against the reigning champs in week 1 and in addition will go up against them to close out the their season. This should be a good one!
Prediction:
I mentioned about J Allen, J Jefferson and T McBride being among the top at their positions and I expect really solid games from all three of them this week. I am likely in the minority but I like Jefferson this year and think that S Darnold ends up having his best season of his career and posts Kirk Cousins type of #’s. I also really like J. Smith-Njigba this week and season. If there is a weakness in this Bossman team it looks to be the RB position. For Starrfavrerodg, J. Hurts, P Nacua and M Harrison Jr are likely going to have to lead this team and they are going to need someone like Ridley, Cooper or Spears to have a surprisingly good season. For week 1, I have more confidence in the stars for Bossman and I am going to give them the win in week 1.

pack slayer (0-0) vs teamAlaska (0-0)
Both of these two teams are coming into this season having just missed out on a playoff berth from a year ago. pack slayer lost out on the tie breaker of points scored while teamAlaska was a game behind but they both finished at .500 or above. pack slayer had a solid draft and started it out with T. Hill and C Kupp which if Kupp can stay healthy maybe he has at least one more PPR monster type of season in him? I also really like D Kincaid this year who they snagged in the 5th round and one of my sleeper picks this year has been M. Wilson who they got in round 11. So while I like their WR’s I can’t say the same about the RB room. They are going to need Mixon and Swift to be better then expected if they want to improve on last seasons finish. teamAlaska has been very solid over the last 4 seasons. While they have only made the playoffs twice they have not finished with a losing record. They will be looking to keep that streak going this year and they started it off in according to Yahoo draft graders as the best start of anyone. They got the ever elusive A+ rated draft. I have no idea how the grading works but I do like their team. I will say that I don’t love taking two “risky” type of players with your first two picks but that’s what they did in drafting J. Chase and D Achane. The upside for both is #1 at their position but the floor especially for Achane is much lower and Chase I am still a bit worried about his contract situation. Overall a nice draft but A+? I am not sure I completely agree with that.
Prediction:
I haven’t gotten through all the games yet but this matchup as of right now is the hardest to pick for a lot of reasons which I mentioned above. One of the more intriguing players that I am excited to see how he does this season is Achane. I think he is a dynamite player who likely is going to have a 20 point game or 3 but he might be one of those frustrating players that some games only gets 8-10 touches for 30 yards. I am going to go with pack slayer to get the win. Hill and Kincaid have big games to lead the way for them this week.

- PPG Avg: Advantage pack slayer 118.03 to 114.05
PackerFANatic7 (0-0) vs Sportsfreak (0-0)
Well this is an interesting week 1 and week 14 matchup. Why? Well because both of these two teams have been horrible over the past 6 seasons. Neither of them have made the playoffs over that stretch which is tied for the 3rd longest playoff drought in league history. Their combined record over the past 6 seasons is 61-101. Sportsfreak showed some signs of life last season as they finished 7-7 but both of these teams will be desperately trying to get back to the playoffs. Sportsfreak had the third pick in the draft and was able to snag CeeDee Lamb at that spot. We have seen Lamb single handedly win games in the past and they will be hoping for a monster season from him. I also really liked their next few picks of J. Jacobs, DK Metcalf, Kamara, M Andrews and B Thomas Jr. That was a solid start. For PackerFANatic7 they had probably the biggest reach of the first round when they took J Taylor at #8 when their were WR’s like J Jefferson, G Wilson and AJ Brown on the board. There was 3 teams that started off the draft with RB-RB and they were one of them. They were able to fill out their roster nicely however they are going to need some of their young players to step up and be difference makers for them if they want to get back to the playoffs.
Prediction:
PackerFANatic7 has one of the ultimate weapons in fantasy football. A guy that can get 40 points on any given Sunday (Thursday in this case) and that is L. Jackson. He is however going up against a tough KC D this week in the opener. Sportsfreak has a very similar type of “ultimate weapon” in CeeDee Lamb who also is going up against a tough D in the Cleveland Browns. I expect this one to be a close game but I like Sportsfreak to find a way to get the win. I think they have a bit more depth that I trust this week.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 7
- Record: Advantage PackerFANatic7 at 4-3
- PPG Avg: Advantage PackerFANatic7 125.72 to 124.09
Rapids Plungers (0-0) vs U Don’t Know (0-0)
Rapids Plungers is coming off another stellar regular season and I think at this point we can just mark them as in the playoffs and move on. They had a solid draft and per usual have one of, if not the best WR room in the league! I don’t recall seeing any teams that could compete with A. St. Brown, C. Olave, N Collins, and R. Rice. I will say that there is a bit of ? there for me outside of St. Brown. N. Collins who has two other WR’s that will be vying for touches could see his #’s dip, Olave while I like him is also playing for a team that at some point this season may decide they would rather see what their rookie QB can do and R. Rice has a pending suspension hanging over his head. With that said, all of these guys have top 15 potential at the WR position and now the question is can they get there.
It had been 5 years since U Don’t Know had their last losing season and they want to get that sour taste out of their mouth! They will be looking to get back to their winning ways this season and what better way to start it then against one of the premier teams in the league. U Don’t Know started the QB run in the draft by picking P. Mahomes in the second round and pick 17! That is really high but if you have a guy you want and you are drafting at the top or the bottom of the draft sometimes you just have to go get them. I like both D. Henry and M. Pittman Jr this season and I also think that S Diggs is going to surprise some people and may end up as the top scoring Texans WR in fantasy. This also should be another good week 1 matchup.
Prediction:
This is going to be a good one. I always expect a solid game from Mahomes but this year and maybe season more then ever as he had by his standards a very lackluster year previously. Look for him to come out strong but will he be throwing it to R. Rice for Rapids Plungers? Yep, I kind of think so. It will be very interesting to watch this week as we have Diggs vs N. Collins and because this is a prediction section I am actually taking Diggs to outscore Collins this week. Does that mean I am also taking U Don’t Know to win? No, I don’t think so. Rapids Plungers has too many weapons and I like them to start off strong like they usually do with a week 1 win!
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 16
- Record: Tied at 8-8
- PPG Avg: Advantage Rapids Plungers 130.65 to 123.05
