DaUnderdog (102.38) vs Pack Attack (89.69)
Week 1 is in the books and DaUnderdog (1-0) finds a way to get into the win column while sending Pack Attack to an 0-1 start. DaUnderdog saved the best for last as they were down by 16 points going into the Monday night game but two of their best players remaining to play in D Samuel and B Hall. Those two led the team to victory by combining for 30 points. For Pack Attack, you know it is a bad week when you have two “offensive” starters who only got points on the board because of tackles! So many times this league comes down to who wins the ugly games or you win one of those games you “shouldn’t have” and that is the case here for DaUnderdog as they move to 1-0 with a big win and hope that it sets them up for the rest of the season. They did potentially lose J. Love for a couple of weeks which is a tough loss but given it looked like it could have been longer they will take it!
16hrs Ahead of You!! (130.74) vs HHH (111.06)
Well, well what do we have here! 16hrs Ahead of you! with the most impressive performance in week 1 and that leaves them all alone in 1st place for the first time in… I have no idea but given this teams struggles in the past I would guess it has happened very few times and yes I know it is week 1! 16hrs got was led by M Evans (20.05) and K Walker (20.17) and not far behind those two was C Godwin with 18.15. That is notable because I talked about in the preview of the idea that it is rare to have two starting WR’s from the same team on your roster but 16hrs for one week at least proved that could work! HHH falls to 0-1 but had an overall solid week despite the loss. They got 33.42 points from Saquon and despite him being on their bench they had to be happy with what they saw from J. Daniels (21.55). Could we see a QB change coming in the near future?
Big Papa (102.11) vs BIGBOY! (88.90)
Father-son matchup round 1 goes to the Father and Big Papa! Big Papa was able to pull off the win in this one despite not getting much production from some of the players that I think going into the week they were expecting a bit more from. For example, if you would have told me beginning of the week that Bijan Robinson, T. Etienne, S. LaPorta and Burrow (Big Papa’s top 4 picks in the draft) would score a combined total of 31.89 points this week I would have been fairly confident in them losing this game however X. Worthy (17.75) and Jameson Williams (22.92) made up for that by having huge games and led Big Papa to win #1. You never want to start a season out at 0-1 and you never want to nor should you panic after week 1 but this was a rough showing for BIGBOY! The good news is that week 2 is only 2 days away so they will look to get this loss behind them and have a much better outing in week 2 OR they will again struggle and realize that Purdy is a bad fantasy QB, Kelce is focused on dating Taylor Swift and Drake London is playing in a bad Atlanta offense! We shall see!
Bossman (120.79) vs Starrfavrerodg (112.73)
Week 1 and guess what!? The reigning champ in Bossman is once again winning fantasy football games. This was one of the games I was watching closely going into Monday night as Starrfavrerodg was making a late charge thanks to strong performances from R Stevenson (22.30) and B Aubrey (22.30) in the Sunday afternoon games (yes, they both did in fact have identical scores). Going into Monday nights game Starrfavrerodg was down by 14 points with their #1 pick in P Nacua remaining to play. This is how you draw it up right? This is what #1 overall picks are supposed to do for you, lead your team to victory. Nacua seemed on his way to doing just that until he injured his knee and was not able to return. What a downer of a finish for Starrfavrerodg as they had their eyes set on knocking off the champs in week 1 and what a nice win for Bossman as they get a win as they start their quest to repeat as champs! The one thing I will say about this game is that anytime you have a player score 30 in a game your chances of winning are very, very high! Josh Allen (29.24) was able to almost get there this week and that was all that Bossman needed to get the win!
pack slayer (129.58) vs teamAlaska (106.49)
This game came down to the Sunday night matchup and pack slayer’s team absolutely crushed it! pack slayer had C. Kupp (31.17), D. Montgomery (13.17) amd J Goff (8.81) going that evening and there were able to open up a lead that teamAlaska was never able to really get close to closing. Kupp was outstanding and through one week of football is the #1 WR. Also, now that Nacua is out for at least 4 games it is hard for me to see him not being a top 5 WR for at least the next month and seems like a potential steal in the latter part of round 2. This was a nice win for pack slayer in week 1! teamAlaska fell short of projections and also living up to that A+ draft ranking! D. Achane (18.40) was a bright spot for them and a guy that if he continues this type of volume especially in the passing game he could end up being a top back in the league! Better days ahead for this team!
PackerFANatic7(128.44) vs Sportsfreak (109.21)
I am thinking that PackerFANatic7 has the wrong profile picture as the WR they need in that picture is J. Reed. Reed scored 30.10 points this week in leading them to victory. I know it is just one week but it has to feel good for PackerFANatic7 to start off with a win as they try to get back to the playoffs for the first time in 7 years. Sportsfreak didn’t have a bad outing but they just didn’t have that big 20+ point game that they needed in order to keep up in this one. Brian Thomas Jr (12.35) was a bright spot for them and they hope that production will continue. I doubt there will be many weeks where C. Lamb fails to score more then 10 so things should get better for Sportsfreak but for now they are once again in a familiar spot, a record below .500!
Rapids Plungers (120.79) vs U Don’t Know (99.15)
I could pretty much say the same thing about this game as Bossman in that it is just more of the same for Rapids Plungers as they do what they always do and that is win regular season fantasy football games! It wasn’t necessarily how you would have expected them to win this one as the CHI defense (26.00) was their highest scoring position but nonetheless like usual they got the job done and are walking away in week 1 as a winner and that is all that matters! I know that sounds a little like winning is everything but the reality is that in this “fantasy” football world we are living in that truly is the case (sorry for all of you that didn’t win your week 1 game!). U Don’t Know struggled to find points outside of a solid game from S. Diggs (20.05). They are going to need more from their stars as the season goes on if they are going to compete this season!
That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!
