XXI – Week 2 Recap

Posted on September 17, 2024 by rkeepers1

Starrfavrerodg (155.68) vs Pack Attack (85.69)
Starrfavrerodg (1-1) coming off a tough loss last week seemed to be getting tired of the stress of close games and dominated Pack Attack (0-2) to the tune of a 70 point drubbing! M. Harrison Jr (27.50) and C. Ridley (20.52) were two of the top scorers but this team was led by A. Hutchinson and his 4.5 sack performance which led to 31.25 fantasy points. Not bad for a guy that was just sitting there in the free agent pool. There is a lesson here for all of you dealing with injury riddled teams. There is a player on defense that this upcoming week is going to score 20+ fantasy points. Can you find him? Pack Attack falls to 0-2 and is just hoping they can have a week that a starter isn’t ruled out minutes before gametime!

16hrs Ahead of You!! (150.68) vs HHH (136.09)

Wow! What a game and shootout this turned out to be! 16hrs ahead (2-0) of you just went toe to toe with the defending champs and they won! They had the highest scoring team in week 1 and despite not having the highest score this week they did just put up 150 points! K. Murray (27.25), C Godwin (24.45) and a whopping 35.90 points from their D player (I am seeing a bit of a theme here) leads to a big early season win over Bossman who falls to 1-1 on the season. Bossman didn’t have a bad week they just played a hot team at the wrong time. They will look to get back into the win column in week 3!

Big Papa (113.53) vs PackerFANatic7 (106.56)

Big Papa moves to 2-0 on the season with a nice win here this week against PackerFANatic7 (1-1) who saw their first loss of the season. This was one of the better games of the week as PackerFANatic7 had the lead going into the Monday nighter but the #2 overall pick, Bijan Robinson needed only 5 points for Big Papa to get the win and he was able to get 11 to seal the deal. This is a really nice start for Big Papa and they will be looking for 3 straight next week against Sportsfreak! PackerFANatic7 put up a good fight here but in the end couldn’t find enough scoring. Pachecho going down with an injury while needing 10 more yards for that 5 point bonus may have been the difference in this game. Just for fun, let’s assume that Pachecho gets 10 more yards rushing to equal 100 yards on the day and a 5 point bonus and maybe one more short dump off for 3 yards. That would equal 6.75 points. That seems like it “could” have happened. In that scenario, PackerFANatic7 would still have lost but by only 0.22 points! Why is that significant? Well, they would have lost because a player on their team named C. Otton scored a negative 0.27 points on the day. Meaning they lost because they started their TE! This just goes to show that losing stinks we all know but it could have been worse. With that said, the bigger news here is that the injury to Pachecho looks to be fairly significant and he will miss a good chunk of the season. That’s a tough blow for a team looking to break out of their no playoffs slump!

DaUnderdog (110.55) vs BIGBOY! (83.60)
DaUnderdog takes care of business in this one to move to an impressive 2-0 on the season despite their star QB in J. Love missing the game and along with their starting TE in J. Ferguson who also missed this week. The injury front seemed to hit them again this week as it looks like they will be without start WR Deebo Samuel for at least a game or two. BIGBOY! falls to 0-2 on the season and is struggling mightily. To make matters worst they lost AJ Brown for what looks like a multiple week injury. I said it on my initial take of this team is that they drafted a really boring team and when you do that you typically don’t have high upside type of guys so injuries sting a bit more especially when it is your best player. In other news, DaUnderdog seemed to be pretty excited about their win and less than impressed with the team that BIGBOY! put together. I am like 99% sure that the BIGBOY! manager didn’t appreciate those comments and let Facebook know all about it! If only these two teams could somehow meet again in the playoffs!?

HHH (126.18) vs pack slayer (76.22)
HHH (1-1) with the big bounce back win in this one! Despite losing in Week 1 they didn’t play poorly and got better production this week as they had 6 players score 13 or more fantasy points led by 27.35 from rookie sensation M. Nabers. Nabers had an outstanding 18 targets in this one! That is not sustainable but I am expecting big things from him this season and with so many injuries he may shoot up the WR rankings over the course of the next few weeks. pack slayer (1-1) looked so good in their win last week but looked horrible in this weeks loss as they fall to 1-1. Not only did they lose but they also likely lost C. Kupp for multiple weeks in this one along with J. Mixon also getting banged up. It was a tough injury week for many teams and pack slayer gets to join the club!

Rapids Plungers (136.22) vs teamAlaska (94.66)

Rapids Plungers is making things look easy as they cruise to win #2 on the season! While most teams are getting worse by the news of every injury it has been the opposite for Rapids Plungers as their team keeps getting better. CMC = Out, Rapids Plungers has J. Mason the backup, K. Walker = Out and Rapids Plungers has the backup in Z. Charbonnet, I. Pachecho = out and Rapids Plungers has the back likely to benefit the most in S. Perine. I am not calling it but it would fit right in if B. Hall were to go down and Rapids Plungers is just waiting to start B. Allen. The hardest decision Rapids Plungers has to make is which player projected over 10 points is going to have the best week! I am sure we all feel really bad for him! teamAlaska falls to 0-2 on the season as they really didn’t get much production anywhere outside of their defensive player, Brian Branch who scored 17.35 points. They will be looking for their first win of the season next week as they go up against another winless squad in U Don’t Know!

Sportsfreak (166.44) vs U Don’t Know (78.52)

Sportsfreak came out with something to prove this week as they not only got win #1 on the season but they did it in dominating fashion! They had 7 players score over 13 points and were led by A. Kamara’s 41.92 on the day! They did however lose their starting QB in Tua who will be out for 4 weeks or longer with the concussion and also their backup QB, Justin Herbert appeared injured this week as well. It didn’t matter this week but they may need to get some production from that position in the future. U Don’t Know falls to 0-2 on the season and really couldn’t find any offense anywhere. They had only 3 players score in double digits and the most was 16.80 by Kittle. They are going to need more from some of these other guys but after two weeks, Pittman, G. Davis and Z. White and P. Mahomes (based on where he was drafted) have been draft day busts! They will need more from those guys to turn this thing around.

That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!
