Now the real fun takes place as the big dogs enter the playoffs after getting a week long break. Bossman and pack slayer start their hunt towards a championship while BIGBOY! and Sportsfreak will be looking to keep the momentum they built in last weeks win and pull off the upsets this week!
(1) Bossman vs (5) BIGBOY!
Bossman starts their title defense the exact same way they did last season as they play against the #5 seeded BIGBOY! team. Bossman with a win here will get back to the Super Bowl for the second straight season and a mind boggling 5th time in the last 6 seasons! That is an incredible feat that I am not sure would ever be repeated and the crazy thing is that it hasn’t even ended. Who knows how many more years of this dominance we will see by them. BIGBOY! is no stranger to big games and the playoffs as they have two championships to their name and will be looking to become part of that elusive three championship club! The winner in this one just might be the favorite to win it all! So who moves on to the championship? Can BIGBOY! end Bossman’s dream of a repeat or will Bossman continue their dominance? Let’s take a look…
Prediction
The QB position is Josh Allen (Bossman) vs Brock Purdy (BIGBOY!). I mentioned it last week so I don’t think it needs much explaining but J. Allen is in a league of his own right now as it pertains to QB play. He has averaged well over 40 points per game the last two weeks. If there is any knock on him this week it is that they are playing against a bad NE team that he likely won’t have to do too much for them to get the win. The edge however goes to Bossman and if Purdy can somehow keep up this week that would go a long way towards BIGBOY! pulling off the upset. The WR position is really solid for both teams. Bossman with J. Jefferson, JSN, and J. Jennings while BIGBOY! counters that with AJ Brown, D. London and L. McConkey. McConkey might be BIGBOY!’s best draft pick on the season as he has been outstanding in his rookie year. This is really close but I have to dock D. London a bit with a rookie QB taking over and McConkey may get to go up against the top Cornerback in the league this week. Lastly J. Jennings is catching balls from BIGBOY!’s QB so I think the edge here goes to Bossman but it’s close. The RB position is not quite as loaded as the WR position but we have good players here for both teams. BIGBOY! is going with J. Conner and R. White while Bossman has J. Cook and A Jones. Conner is in a great spot this week but R. White is a tough one. It wouldn’t surprise me if he ended with 3 points or 20! My guess is that he finishes around that 10 point mark. Bossman will be hoping that either Cook or Allen get all of the Bills TD’s and lately that has been exactly what has been happening. I like Cook in this game and A Jones should be in for a nice day against Seattle. I think Conner has the potential to even out the score or maybe even give the edge to BIGBOY! but I like Bossman with a slight edge here as well. The TE position is a fun one! Kelce (BIGBOY!) vs McBride (Bossman). Kelce started really slow, had a stretch of solid games and then the past 5 weeks have been subpar by his standards as he has only gotten over 10 points one time. The targets have been there but he just hasn’t found the end zone. McBride has been outstanding the last 4 weeks as he has scored in double digits each of the past 4 weeks. Something to remember for next fantasy season but McBride finished as TE 3 in the regular season and he has yet to score a TD all season! I think McBride gets that first TD and I think it is a double whammy to BIGBOY! as that means it takes a TD away from Conner. I like McBride and Bossman with the edge at TE. The FLEX position has A. Thielen (BIGBOY!) vs Jeudy (Bossman). If Winston was playing I think this would be edge to Jeudy but with Winston now on the bench I don’t see near the volume coming Jeudy’s way and Thielen overall has been solid. I like BIGBOY! with the edge here. While I did choose Bossman to win most of the matchups, I do think this one is going to be close and I think there are paths that have BIGBOY! coming up with the upset. It is too hard to pick against Bossman right now. I think BIGBOY! figures out a way to give them a run for their money but it won’t be quite enough. Bossman to get the win and get back to the Super Bowl yet again!
(2) pack slayer vs (3) Sportsfreak
pack slayer is rested and ready to go as they are coming off the bye week. They need to hope that they can avoid any rust as this Sportsfreak team is on a roll and the momentum they have built really over the past month is going to push pack slayer to come out strong. What I like best about this matchup is that one of them has to win! Duh!? Well, Neither of these teams have been able to find a way to win a championship! They have played in the league a combined 33 years without a championship. Sportsfreak has been to the Super Bowl twice while pack slayer made it there one time. One of them is getting back to the Super Bowl after this week! Who will it be?
Prediction
The QB Position has R. Wilson (pack slayer) vs Tua Tagovailoa (Sportsfreak). Tua at home always plays much better and in fact his last three home games he has averaged 25 fantasy points. R Wilson is in a matchup that you would think they are need to rely on his arm to win it. I like Tua and Sportsfreak with a slight edge. The WR position is T. Hill, C. Kupp, and C. Ridley for pack slayer vs C. Lamb, DK Metcalf, and B. Thomas Jr for Sportsfreak. Four years ago pack slayer’s WR trio would be the best of the best but what a difference 4 years makes. By name those three players are superstars but for fantasy purposes they have been lackluster all season. The same could honestly be said about both Lamb and Metcalf as they too have not lived up to expectations. What is difficult here is that while these WR’s haven’t had the type of seasons the managers had hoped for they all are capable of week winning type of outbursts. T. Hill has got to have one of those games left in him AND Kupp has to reward those who made it past last week with his 0 scoring effort right? I am going with pack slayer with a slight edge here. At the RB spot, you have J. Jacobs and A Kamara for Sportsfreak vs Mixon and Hubbard for pack slayer. The big question mark here is the health of Kamara. It feels like a true 50/50 type of scenario whether he plays or not so that makes this difficult. Jacobs should be in line for a big game but with the Kamara news not out there I do like pack slayer with the edge here at RB. The TE position has D. Schulz (pack slayer) vs M. Andrews (Sportsfreak). I like Andrews this week. He has been solid and in a competitive game he always seems to play well. I will give the edge to Sportsfreak. The FLEX position is B. Irving (Sportsfreak) vs R. Dowdle (pack slayer). Two RB’s which isn’t super common in this league that you have three running backs you are feeling good about starting. This is good news for Sportsfreak because if Kamara is ruled out they would move Irving to RB and pick from some solid bench players to replace him. Right now, I like Irving over Dowdle so I am going with Sportsfreak to have the edge but if Kamara is out and one of the bench players steps in then I would go with pack slayer. So that’s a lot of words but who is going to win? I have no clue! 🙂 This is a tough one because I see big time potential on both sides. I am going to go with the team that has been on a tear in Sportsfreak to move on and get back to the Super Bowl! Interestingly enough the last time they were in the playoffs they made it to the championship! I think they get there again.
So there you have it! My prediction is a Bossman vs Sportsfreak super bowl!
That’s it! Good luck to all four teams this week!
