I am going to start this by saying that after 4 weeks it is clear that if I pick you to win then you are in trouble! So if I do pick you to win I apologize and don’t blame your teams lack of performance on me! 🙂
Big Papa (2-2) vs Pack Attack (1-3)
Big Papa is coming into this one off of a loss but they played one of their better games of the season. Big Papa comes into this meeting having the best defense in the league as they have only given up 387 points on the season. Pack Attack meanwhile comes into this week as having the second worst defense having given up 558pts on the season. If defense wins championships then Big Papa is sitting pretty good right now and Pack Attack may need to be thinking about how to avoid that last place trophy!

Sportsfreak (1-3) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (0-4)
We are in week 5 so there isn’t really any “must win” scenarios yet however for 16hrs we are getting pretty close. In most seasons there is at least one 7-6 team to make the playoffs so getting their 5th loss this week would be a really tough hole to try and dig out of. Sportsfreak is in a little better spot already gotten that first win however I know in their mind they are looking at this as a must win situation especially considering it is against a winless 16hrs team. So who goes home happy in this one?
Prediction:
Both teams are dealing with some injuries this week as Sportsfreak lost John Ross for seemingly the season and Marlon Mack is banged up while 16hrs will likely have to replace C. Kirk as he is unlikely to play. This is a hard one to determine the winner as both teams are coming off ugly losses. At this point though I think Sportsfreak has a bit more firepower and I expect them to come away with the win and leave 16hrs with their 5th loss of the season.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 15
- Record: Advantage 16hrs Ahead of You!! at 9-6
- PPG Avg: Advantage 16hrs Ahead of You!! 119.33 to 113.14
HHH (3-1) vs BIGBOY! (2-2)
BIGBOY! may have saved their season last week with an improbable win while HHH comes into this one as one of the hottest teams in the league having won three straight games. This is a good test for both teams as anytime you are going up against the defending champs you know it will be a fight and for BIGBOY! they just can’t seem to get on track despite the 2-2 record. We have seen this before from BIGBOY! as last season it took their team some time to really gel and then they hit their stride midway through the season.
Prediction:
Interestingly enough both BIGBOY! and HHH may be without their top WR’s this week. D. Adams for HHH looks like a long shot to play due to injury and K. Golladay for BIGBOY! is on a bye this week. In looking at this game, I think BIGBOY! has a team that can explode and put up 160pts easy on you OR they also have a team that I could see 100pts less and in the 60 point range. Guys like D. Robinson, M. Brown, J. Jacobs and K. Murray all are capable of having monster games but scoring less then 10pts wouldn’t surprise anyone. For HHH, they maybe don’t have quite as much upside and if Adams was playing they would be my pick for sure. However, I still think HHH finds a way to win this one and send BIGBOY! back to below .500 on the season.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 9
- Record: Advantage HHH at 5-4
- PPG Avg: Advantage HHH 133.14 to 124.74
pack slayer (3-1) vs Bossman (2-2)
This is one of the more interesting games to me this week and I am really looking forward to seeing who comes out on top. pack slayer has been quietly climbing the standing with back to back outstanding weeks (averaging 160 ppg in those weeks). Bossman has been doing what they usually do which is find ways to stay in contention but never really wow’ing you with their level of play. Can pack slayer keep up the momentum from the previous two weeks and move to 4-1 or will Bossman bring them back down to reality and push themselves back over the .500 mark?
Prediction:
pack slayer welcomes back M. Gordon this week and it couldn’t have come at a better time as it lessens the value of Ekeler who is owned by Bossman. Bossman has a return player of his own as G. Tate will be playing his first game since his 4 game suspension. Bossman will be hoping that the Packers vs Dallas games ends with a score of 45-41 and the Packers win and his Dallas players of Prescott and Zeke have monster games. This one should be a good game but I like pack slayer to continue moving up the ranks and figuring out a way to get the win this week.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 8
- Record: Tied at 4-4
- PPG Avg: Advantage Bossman 124.69 to 121.89
DaUnderdog (2-2) vs PackerFANatic7 (1-3)
DaUnderdog is coming off an ugly loss last week so they are excited for a new game to finally be here. You are always concerned when your team only scores 81 points in a given week however given that the previous three weeks their lowest score was 123, I am thinking that they will rebound here. For PackerFANatic7 they are just looking to get some wins under their belt. They have ultimately been one of the more consistent teams in the league and have improved their score each week. If they do that again this week and come out with the win they will see themselves take a huge jump in the standings!
Prediction:
These look to be two evenly matched teams so I went to the individual matchups and that is where DaUnderdog came out on top. The one thing that made me pause a little bit is I don’t like Thursday night games for Fantasy and DaUnderdog is relying heavily on R. Wilson, Lockett and Carson tonight. I think this game comes down to the wire and Eric Ebron to have a solid game on Sunday night to lead DaUnderdog to the win.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 2
- Record: Advantage DaUnderdog at 2-0
- PPG Avg: Advantage U Don’t Know 126.18 to 101.96
Rapids Plungers (4-0) vs PackMan12 (3-1)
Game of the week!? Well if you look at the records of all of the teams meeting this week this would qualify as the best game! However, there are some that might say PackMan12 has been more lucky then good and I guess if you look at the #’s there is an argument to be made. That doesn’t take away from the fact that they have figured out a way to win 3 out of 4 games and now have the opportunity to shut out the doubters here with a win against the top team in Rapids Plungers. I did some digging on Rapids Plungers to see if a “fast start” like this was normal and I found basically what I expected. While 4-0 isn’t common they have started at least 4-0 three other times since 2008 and in 2010 they had their best start at 9-0. If there were regular season trophies / awards handed out I would imagine Rapids Plungers would have a # of them. The real question for this team won’t be able to be answered for a few more months but in the meantime they will enjoy their regular season domination!
Prediction:
Rapids Plungers has way too many ways to beat you and PackMan12 clearly has some because they are 3-1 but for this week I don’t see many. Rapids Plungers owns the top 3 WR’s in fantasy football right now (K. Allen, C. Kupp & C. Godwin) and their 4th WR is OK too… you may have heard of him… DeAndre Hopkins. To say their are stacked at WR is an understatement. Look for more of the same this week as I expect them to win this one easily.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 9
- Record: Advantage Rapids Plungers at 5-4
- PPG Avg: Advantage Rapids Plungers 122.24 to 113.58
teamAlaska(2-2) vs U Don’t Know (2-2)
teamAlaska finally got back on track last week with a big win over Pack Attack and they will be looking to build some momentum against a U Don’t Know team that got the win last week but failed to score over 100 points in doing so. I look at this as a momentum builder for both teams. Whoever finds a way to win this one moves a game over .500 and is feeling much better about their situation. I say that because I think both of these teams are looking at this game and thinking… this is a game I can / should win! So who will win?
Prediction:
U Don’t Know will likely be without S. Barkley for another week and D. Jackson looks iffy while teamAlaska it appears will get back one of their top weapons in D. Williams. I think this could be a close game and likely will come down to how S. Watkins and D. Williams perform on Sunday night. I expect that to be a high scoring game and for teamAlaska to pull away with a win!
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 12
- Record: Advantage U Don’t Know at 8-4
- PPG Avg: Advantage U Don’t Know 116.28 to 115.15
Have a great week!
