Sportsfreak (182.31) vs Pack Attack (93.40)
Wow! Where has this been for 6 weeks is the question as Sportsfreak (1-6) not only got their first win of the season but they did it in impressive fashion by putting up 182 pts. I think what you are seeing is a team in Sportsfreak that probably is not as bad as their record may say. They have scored 841pts this year which is 1 point less then Starrfavrerodg and they are 5-2. Not only that, with the trade they pulled off last week they may now arguably have the best WR and best RB in the league, D. Adams and C. McCaffrey (who could possibly return this week). That lineup is solid but they have a tough last 6 weeks. I will be interested to see if they can string together a couple of wins and make this interesting the rest of the way. For Pack Attack, well they have scored the least amount of points AND they have the most points scored against them. That is a great combination for going 0-7 to start the season! I would say that they now have the opportunity to play role of the spoiler however with the way they are playing I think the only role they will be playing is making their opponents happy as they walk away with a win!
PackerFANatic7 (188.65) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (114.71)
I see you PackerFANatic7! I have been struggling to see this team as much more then a .500 squad and not one of the real contenders in the league but they showed me something this week that I wasn’t sure they had in them which is score more then about 130ish points. This does come with an asterisk because they got a ridiculous amount of points from three players, J. Herbert (40.34pts), J. Robinson (31.83pts) and cap it off with a single player high for the year of 63pts from T. Lockett! Just to make everyone feel good, J Herbert and T. Lockett by themselves would have beat 6 teams in the league this week! So yes this was an impressive week for PackerFANatic7 as they move to 4-3 on the season but I need to see a bit more of a sustainable attack to feel really good about this team and their playoff chances. 16hrs falls to 3-4 on the season as they did what they have all season which is score just over 100 points. You can win a few games doing that and with a little luck you might even be able to hover around .500 but if they want to make a playoff run they are going to need to find a way to start scoring more points then they have the last few weeks!
Big Papa (98.56) vs U Don’t Know (93.23)
U-G-L-Y is the best way that I can describe this game! Big Papa has been known to win some ugly defensive struggles in their time but this one might be the most satisfying as not only did they move to 5-2 on the season but they also sent U Don’t Know (6-1) home with their first loss of the season! This win moved Big Papa all the way to 3rd place in the standings and a win like this against a quality opponent will no doubt have an impact in playoff seeding down the road. Is this team for real? I need to see another week but I am starting to come around. For U Don’t Know I am starting to wonder if I should be concerned? This was a team that two weeks ago their lowest scoring two games were 125 and 143 points. They have a roster that seems to have playmakers all over the place and I had wrote about their depth many times in these articles. Now with back to back weeks failing to score 100 pts I am starting to wonder…. This team is still 6-1 and one of the better teams in the league however I am much less confident now as C. Lamb no longer has D. Prescott throwing him the ball, M. Evans now has A. Brown taking away some targets each week and S. Diggs and the Bills offense suddenly look average. It only takes one solid week for me to remember how good this team has been but for at least this week I am starting to have some questions.
pack slayer (113.67) vs DaUnderdog (87.70)
pack slayer coach has been wheeling and dealing and doing whatever they can to keep their team in contention and they stayed alive for another week as they get the win to move to 2-5 on the season. Those moves didn’t necessarily lead to a direct victory in this one however their coach decided their current team wasn’t performing the way they wanted and decided to make some moves to generate a spark and for one week it did just that. pack slayer has only beaten Pack Attack and now DaUnderdog so I am not yet convinced this is a sign of something but they get a tough Big Papa team next week so we should learn a lot more about this team in the coming week. DaUnderdog may need to look at doing the same thing as pack slayer as they have really struggled the last two weeks and now are 2-5 on the season. They have a crazy tough next 4 weeks so if they want to have any chance this season they better hope these 80pt performances are over with or they will soon find themselves hoping that Pack Attack doesn’t find a way to win a game or two or their fight of trying to salvage their season may turn into a fight of trying to avoid a last place finish!
teamAlaska (149.94) vs BIGBOY! (133.17)
What a game this turned out to be as teamAlaska led by R. Wilson was able to get the win to move to 6-1 on the season and take over the top spot from U Don’t Know. The momentum has been building as they have now won 5 straight games since that loss to U Don’t Know in week 2. Their lowest scoring game of the year was 122.74 points, their top 4 players all have their byes behind them, this is a team that is going to be tough to beat the rest of the way and right now is your top team in the league! BIGBOY! falls to 3-4 on the season but they had a shot here. Injuries to OBJ and C. Carson early on in their games really hurt their chances and now both players will be out. OBJ for the year and Carson is week to week. This feels like a team that is going to struggle to find wins the remainder of the year. They have a good coach who can help keep them afloat but they are going to need some players to step up soon or they are in danger of this season slipping away!
Rapids Plungers (158.13) vs Bossman (100.82)
Do you see it yet? If you don’t then you are not paying that much attention because the defending champ is coming! And they are coming with a vengeance! They just dismantled a good Bossman team (yes I know they are missing some pieces) but I don’t think that would have mattered as Rapids Plungers Coach has their team playing at an extremely high level. You might look at their roster and say well Mike Davis is about to be irrelevant again as C. McCaffrey is set to return and I get it but with the K. Drake injury C. Edmonds is now the starter in Arizona and with the way he has looked I don’t see Drake getting his job back. Edmonds looks like a RB1 the rest of the way. Rapids Plungers moved to 4-3 on the season with this win but right now outside of teamAlaska I don’t think there is a team better. Bossman fell to 4-3 on the season and never really had a chance in this one. They needed a monster game from J. Allen in order to keep pace and they didn’t get it. They will likely get D. Cook back next week after their bye so they should be better moving forward but this is once again going to be one of those years that Bossman and their coach are going to have to work some magic to keep this team in the playoff race until they can get a guy like Ekeler back!
Starrfavrerodg (106.72) vs HHH (99.16)
Just win baby! That is what I am guessing the coach of Starrfavrerodg has been preaching to their team all season because that is exactly what they have done. It hasn’t been pretty but with this win against a quality opponent in HHH they now have a 5-2 record and are just a game back of first place! That is quite the accomplishment for a first year coach and team! I have my reservations about this team and the way at which they won this game doesn’t necessarily change my thoughts or remove some of those reservations. The fact though is that this is a team that has one of the best records in the league through 7 weeks and they will have the chance next week to prove that they belong as they will go up against the top team in the league in teamAlaska. HHH falls to 4-3 on the season and have lost 2 games in a row! This was a tough loss as you would have thought that a healthy A. Jones would have been able to get the 8 points HHH needed for the win! The good news for HHH is that it doesn’t seem like the Jones injury is long term so they should get him back soon but if they lose next week to a desperate DaUnderdog team it might be time to start considering hitting that panic button!
That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!
