XVIII – Week 5 Preview

Posted on October 7, 2021October 7, 2021 by rkeepers1

DaUnderdog (3-1) vs Pack Attack (1-3)

DaUnderdog is off to their best start since the 2015 season where they started out 4-1! Now the not so good news is that year they finished at 7-6 and missed out on the playoffs. They will be hoping to keep their momentum going again this week as they go up against one of the worst teams in the league through 4 weeks. DaUnderdog did get hit pretty hard last week with the injury bug as they will be without D. Montgomery for about a month and J. Mixon is questionable. Let’s see if they can keep the hot streak going until these two are fully healthy?

Prediction:
Check out the Yahoo predictions for this one!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 20
  • Record: Advantage Pack Attack at 11-9
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Pack Attack 124.38 to 110.33

16hrs Ahead of You!! (3-1) vs Bossman (3-1)

Game of the week! This is back to back weeks for 16hrs being a part of the game of the week and they will be hoping for a better outcome this week then last. Bossman is coming off a win last week despite having their worst week of the season so they will be looking for another W but with a much better performance then what they saw last week. 16hrs will just be looking to prove that they belong in the upper tier of teams and a win here against a good Bossman team may be just what they need.

Prediction:
This is projected to be the highest scoring matchup of the week however I am not sure I agree with that. I see this being a 125 to 115 sort of game and I am going to go with Bossman to get the win. Historically, Bossman has owned this matchup winning 13 of their previous 15 meetings. This looks like a week that Brady gets back on track and expect a big game from Kelce. Bossman with win #4 on the season.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 15
  • Record: Advantage Bossman at 13-2
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Bossman 134.26 to 1106.86

BIGBOY! (4-0) vs Big Papa (1-3)

I always love the Father-Son matchups and we have a good one here as Big Papa is in need of a win to avoid a 1-4 hole while BIGBOY! seems to be coasting to this 4-0 start. BIGBOY! will likely be without McCaffrey for one more week so they will be looking to figure out a way to get another victory without him and then hope he is good for the remainder of the season because with him in this lineup they look extremely tough to beat. Big Papa will be looking to find a way to do two things that have been tough to come by through 4 weeks. Number one for themselves to get a win and number two finding a way to beat BIGBOY! The odds are stacked against them this week but maybe Big Papa has some tricks up his sleeve!

Prediction:
I know the records would say this should be a blowout win for BIGBOY! but I could see this being a close one as I expect another big game from Mahomes to make things interesting. I also think the combo of Herbert and Williams struggle a bit against a solid Cleveland defense. However, I think that BIGBOY! has enough firepower outside of that to come away with the narrow win. Look for BIGBOY! to move to 5-0 on the season and send Big Papa to a tough 1-4 start!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 11
  • Record: Advantage BIGBOY! at 7-4
  • PPG Avg: Advantage BIGBOY! 132.45 to 113.26

HHH (2-2) vs U Don’t Know (0-4)

HHH started out the season fast by winning their first two games but since then they have dropped two straight and did so last week in ugly fashion by only scoring 73 points. They will be looking to right the ship this week against our defending champ who is off to a rough 0-4 start. It’s hard to consider any week 5 game a must win but for U Don’t Know I am sure they are treating it that way as starting 0-5 on the season would be tough to overcome!

Prediction:
This is the week! The week that U Don’t Know gets their first win! Barkley is starting to show signs of getting back to his pre-injury self and this is likely the 30 point Lockett week as if you have ever had Lockett on your team in fantasy you know the drill… frustration, frustration, MONSTER game! Well, it is time for the monster game. For HHH, they are going to need Wilson to have a big game tonight in Thursday night football and for most of the big game stats like TD passes to be thrown to someone not named T. Lockett! If Lockett, keeps pace with Wilson’s scoring (which I think he will) then U Don’t Know wins as I am predicting!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 15
  • Record: Advantage U Don’t Know at 8-7
  • PPG Avg: Advantage U Don’t Know 118.40 to 111.85

pack slayer (2-2) vs teamAlaska (2-2)

I wrote about this in my recap last week but pack slayer comes into this week as the highest scoring team in the league. teamAlaska is coming into this one with an identical record however they have scored 100 less points on the season. This of course means nothing for this week other then the fact that on paper through 4 weeks pack slayer would seem to be the favorite in this one despite identical records. It is likely going to take teamAlaska’s best week of the season to get the win in this one.

Prediction:
We are going to learn a lot about who is likely going to win this week after tonight’s Thursday night game. pack slayer has two of their top three players in Stafford / Kupp going tonight. If they fail to perform well then the door is wide open for teamAlaska to sneak in and get the W. If they light it up as they have been doing for most of the year then this one may seem over before it really gets going! I am going with Stafford and Kupp to have a total of around 40 points by nights end BUT I am not sure that is enough this week. I am going with teamAlaska in a mini upset.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 10
  • Record: Advantage pack slayer at 7-3
  • PPG Avg: Advantage pack slayer 124.13 to 114.61

PackerFANatic7 (2-2) vs Sportsfreak (1-3)

PackerFANatic7 started off the season slow but since then have been seemingly finding their groove especially after last weeks 161 point outburst. They will be looking to keep that momentum going against a Sportsfreak team that is still waiting for their own big blow up week where all of their players perform up to their potential. Sometimes those weeks rarely come OR ever come but one can hope!

Prediction:
It was good to see A. Ekeler come up with a big performance last week for PackerFANatic7 and they will be counting on him each and every week to outscore some of the other short comings on this team. With that said, the Cleveland D is seemingly legit this season and I think the scoring won’t come as easy as it seemed last week. I like Sportsfreak to come away with the narrow win in this one and I expect their highly touted TE Kyle Pitts to score in the 15 to 20 point range!

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 4
  • Record: Tied at 2-2
  • PPG Avg: Advantage PackerFANatic7 120.30 to 111.39

Rapids Plungers (2-2) vs Starrfavrerodg (2-2)
Starrfavrerodg comes into this one in a bit of a winning streak as they have won their last two games. This season has bit odd for them as every game they have played so far this season has been won or loss by less than 11 points! And I mentioned it last week but they all have come down to the wire and the Monday night game. Will these trends continue this week? Rapids Plungers is hoping not as they have planned to have this one sealed long before Monday nights game. Rapids Plungers has been extremely consistent this season as they have scored in the 140’s three of the four weeks and the lone week they didn’t they had a solid 115. If they get to 140 again this week, they get the W!

Prediction:
The musical chairs at QB continues for Rapids Plungers as they look to be going with the rookie T. Lance this week against a tough Ari D. Starrfavrerodg also seems to be doing making some changes as they are hoping M. Ryan can continue their magic from a week ago and lead them to victory. I like Rapids Plungers in this one as they look to be getting a key weapon in T. Higgins back. There are a number of guys (5 total) going between the two teams on Monday night so the possibility of this one coming down the Monday night game is there however I do think that Rapids Plungers will have enough of a lead that they can breathe easy but then again who can count any lead safe when Starrfavrerodg has J. Tucker going on Monday night!? I got Rapids Plungers to get win #3 on the season.

Historical Look at this Match-Up:

  • Regular Season Match-ups: 1
  • Record: Advantage Starrfavrerodg at 1-0
  • PPG Avg: Advantage Starrfavrerodg 120.53 to 89.91
