There is usually the running joke each year that you don’t want me to pick your team to win because that is a sure sign that you are going to lose! I figured I would keep track of how bad I really am at this especially since my week 1 was quite possibly my best week I will see all year!
Picks
Last Week: 5-1
Overall: 5-1
Sportsfreak (1-0) vs Pack Attack (0-1)
One of the biggest and best rivalries in our league go head to head this week! Sportsfreak is coming off a big win last week and will hope to ride that momentum as they play a Pack Attack team that couldn’t find a way to break 100 points last week and had two starters that failed to score over 1 point! That isn’t going to get it done in most weeks and it surely won’t get it done this week against what looks like a solid Sportsfreak squad! We should have a pretty good idea on who may come out on top of this one as Sportsfreak has Herbert and Williams going in tonight’s game while Pack Attack has JuJu going! Will Pack Attack find themselves down by 40 before Sunday even rolls around or can JuJu keep things close against Herbert / Williams?

16hrs Ahead of You!! (0-1) vs teamAlaska (1-0)
teamAlaska is coming off of an exciting win last week against Bossman and they will be looking to keep it going this week against a 16hrs team that like a few NFL teams last week seemed to think it was still the preseason. This is not the start 16hrs was hoping for after making it to the playoffs for the first time in 10 years last season. So will they come out this week and show everyone what the true 16hrs team looks like? And if so, will that equate to a win? I guess let’s find out.
Prediction:
I do think that this 16hrs team underperformed in Week 1 which is really easy to say given they only scored 55 points which oh by the way J. Jefferson scored 40 points by himself last week and yes that is one of the players 16hrs is up against this week. I expect them to put up a better showing this week however I don’t expect that to be enough for a win as teamAlaska rides the coattails of their stars again this week to get win #2.

- Regular Season Match-ups: 17
- Record: Advantage teamAlaska at 10-7
- PPG Avg: Advantage teamAlaska 113.87 to 104.62
Big Papa (1-0) vs BIGBOY! (1-0)
These games are always fun, the Father-Son games. We have a few of them in this league and I hope that there is some good smack talk going on! The good news here is that both teams come in after getting wins last week. They both did it in a bit different fashion as Big Papa won with offense while BIGBOY! won with their stifling defense. I mentioned it in my preview last week but Big Papa getting Mahomes in the 5th round especially after his performance in Week 1 looks really solid right now! BIGBOY! comes into this one off of the win but the injury bug really hit them hard as Godwin, K. Allen and TJ Watt are all out this week and could miss multiple weeks. They are going to have to find a way to get some wins while their guys heal up!
Prediction:
I LOVE Mahomes this week in a shootout against Herbert and the Chargers. Too bad K. Allen wasn’t playing for BIGBOY! And it seems that you have to pencil in 20+ points for Kupp so with that said and the injury bug hitting BIGBOY! pretty hard I am going to go with Big Papa to get win #2. If BIGBOY! wants to compete in this one the owner of the Bears (A. Rodgers) is going to have to play lights out and match points with Mahomes.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 16
- Record: Advantage BIGBOY! at 8-4
- PPG Avg: Advantage BIGBOY! 135.87 to 110.18
Bossman (0-1) vs Starrfavrerodg (0-1)
Both teams are coming into this week after having lost their week 1 games. While Bossman could have easily won their game the Yahoo prediction of a 1 win team will continue to be a storyline each week until they win not only that first game but that 2nd! This may not happen again so I am going to enjoy talking about it especially considering this is the team that has made it to the Super Bowl for three straight years! Last week shown us however that Bossman knows a thing or two about what they are doing as JT looked every bit of the #1 overall pick while T. Hill seemed as fast and good as ever, C. Kirk performed great with his new team and J. Robinson looked much better then a 10th round RB selection! Starrfavrerodg struggled last week as they failed to put up 100 points however on a positive note when you look at the overall usage of the team their players were involved and really most performed well they just didn’t get in the end zone as their team including the QB only scored 3 TD’s all week and when you have that low of a TD mark you need your guys to get the 100 point bonus’s which outside of Chase they didn’t do. That’s why I say better days ahead for this team and is this week one of them?
Prediction:
This one is tough as I expect both teams to come out and put up a decent amount of points. I expect the WR play for both teams to be solid with Starrfavrerodg having a slight edge but the #1 overall pick and let’s just call it the JT factor is too big to ignore in this one as I expect a big game from him again and to lead the way for Bossman to get that win #1 on the season.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 2
- Record: Advantage Bossman at 2-0
- PPG Avg: Advantage Bossman 135.94 to 102.49
DaUnderdog (1-0) vs pack slayer (0-1)
The defending champion, DaUnderdog got their season off to a good start last week and now will get to go up against a pack slayer team that played well and was a play or two away from pulling out the week 1 victory but couldn’t get it done. These are always the interesting ones to watch as DaUnderdog was able to pull out their game by a mere 2 points and pack slayer was not so do we see a repeat of that again where DaUnderdog finds a way to win and pack slayer is left thinking “I could easily be 2-0”!? Those games are sometimes the difference in going to the playoffs or playing in the consolation bracket! I expect this to be one of the closer games this week so it will be interesting to see who can find a way to get that W!
Prediction:
I can tell you this much and that is that this game is going to be decided on Monday night as both teams not only have multiple players going but DaUnderdog has their best player in J. Allen while pack slayer has K. Cousins and A. Brown. The matchups this week setup nicely for pack slayer and I expect them to find a way to win a close one! pack slayer hands DaUnderdog their first loss of the season.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 11
- Record: Advantage pack slayer at 7-4
- PPG Avg: Advantage pack slayer 115.91 to 106.78
HHH (0-1) vs PackerFANatic7 (0-1)
The second Father-Son matchup of the week and it should be a good one as both teams are coming off Week 1 losses but will be looking to put that in the rear view mirror. PackerFANatic7 suffered a blow last week as they loss D. Prescott for what sounds like a minimum of 3 to 4 games. HHH went in to week 1 banged up so they will be hoping to get Kittle and Lazard back into their lineups this week. It’s never fun to deal with injuries at any point during the season but having them this early is not ideal. So who will find a way to overcome the injuries and get the win? Can HHH continue their dominance of PackerFANatic7 or will PackerFANatic7 find a way to piece things together and get the win?
Prediction:
For the sake of this prediction I am going to assume that T. Higgins and A. Lazard will be playing for HHH. I expect a solid game from Ekeler this week mostly in the form of 5+ catches and look for a bounce back type of game from Burrow. PackerFANatic7 picked up Wentz to replace Prescott and that may turn out ok but expecting 34 points from him each week seems unlikely. He does have a solid matchup against Detroit however I just don’t see them having enough firepower to get the win. I am going with HHH to get their first win of the season.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 6
- Record: Advantage HHH at 4-2
- PPG Avg: Advantage HHH 132.38 to 119.73
Rapids Plungers (1-0) vs U Don’t Know (1-0)
I like this matchup as it is two of the highest scoring teams from week 1 and not that standings really matter at this point but if we did care about it then it would be the #2 team vs the #4. Rapids Plungers team got a lot better due to injuries and depth charts last week as D. Henderson seems like the clear cut #1 RB in LA while J. Wilson Jr will be taking over for E. Mitchell in SF. The only negative thing to this is that Rapids Plungers now has 4 viable RB’s to decide between who should start. Let’s see if they make the right call!? U Don’t Know was on the other side of that injury news as they have E. Mitchell and he is not situated in their IR slot for the time being. They don’t have a lot of depth at RB and will be forced to start Rookie B. Hall this week. They do however have S. Barkley who looked amazing last week and will be counted on to help lead this team to a win.
Prediction:
Yahoo has this as being a really close game but I don’t see it. Brady has historically struggled against the Saints and with U Don’t Know losing E. Mitchell it pushes everyone down to the point they are using a TE at the flex spot this week which usually doesn’t work out well. I am going with Rapids Plungers to win this one rather easily.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 14
- Record: Tied at 7-7
- PPG Avg: Advantage Rapids Plungers 130.97 to 122.88
