pack slayer (119.85) vs Pack Attack (91.31)
We knew coming into this one that one team was getting their first win and the other would move on to week 4 still searching. pack slayer was the big winner this week as they move to 1-2 on the season and get their first win out of the way! It wasn’t necessarily pretty but when your opponent can’t seem to find any offense it doesn’t need to be very pretty to get the W! Pack Attack falls to 0-3 on the season and is the worst team in the league through the first three weeks!
Starrfavrerodg (103.60) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (102.27)
Wow, what a game this turned out to be as both teams were trying to avoid that 0-3 start! This one as you can tell by the score came down to the wire with Starrfavrerodg (1-2) somehow coming out on top. They had solid production from a number of their guys as 7 players scored in double figures but no one scored more then 15 points which made this a really close game. Games like this however have the potential of changing the narrative on a season and Starrfavrerodg will be looking to do just that. For 16hrs (0-3) this was about as tough of a loss as you can imagine and yes anytime you lose by a mere 1 point it is always going to be tough and you will second guess everything but when your defense gives you a -4 points and you lose by 1 point.. well that is really tough! Who would have thought that just benching a position completely could actually have led to a win!? That’s the kind of start that 16hrs has been having and they will now be looking to get their first win next week!
teamAlaska (151.64) vs Big Papa (77.65)
In what was hyped up as the game of the week and had the #1 and #2 teams going up against each other really didn’t live up to much of anything. teamAlaska continued to roll as they put up 151 points and through three weeks they sure have looked the part of the team to beat. They got another monster game from L. Jackson (44.49) and also a monster game from their #3 WR, Devonta Smith who put up 32.45 points. Those two players alone scored 76.94 points combined, Big Papa scored 77.65 points in total for the week! teamAlaska holds on to their top dog ranking for another week but they do have the reigning champ right there with them. Big Papa comes away from this one wondering what just happened as they had been cruising along and then they put up a game like this. I am guessing as of right now they are just chalking it up to a bad day at the office but after starting out the season with 160 points then they went to 122 and now 77!? This trend of losing approximately 40 points each week is not super encouraging and if this trend continues I wish I was playing Big Papa next week as I may be able to win a game!
BIGBOY! (120.30) vs Sportsfreak (107.05)
This was a really solid win for BIGBOY! as despite their now 2-1 record they really haven’t been playing very good. To get the win here over their brother who happened to be undefeated coming into this game was a huge step in the right direction and one that they will hope they can keep going into the coming weeks. Sportsfreak takes their first L of the young season and it is relatively easy to point to what the difference in this one was and that is the fact that the combo of Herbert/Williams combined for only 16 points. I wouldn’t expect too many more lower outputs on the season for these two so the fact that Sportsfreak still was in this game is a testament to the overall depth of their roster. BIGBOY! should be getting K. Allen and C. Godwin back in the coming weeks but until then if they can keep finding ways to win their overall outlook looks much brighter!
Bossman (107.91) vs U Don’t Know (102.30)
I always enjoy the games that come down to the wire and this was the game this week. Going into the Monday night game Bossman was holding on to a 23.61 point lead. U Don’t Know had arguably their best player left to play in S. Barkley and they also had a wildcard in M. Parsons going as well. Getting to 24 points and the win seemed well within the realm of possibility. Barkley was doing his part as midway through the 3rd quarter he broke loose for a 36 yard TD run to make things really close. Not to mention M. Parsons and the Dallas D was pressuring D. Jones on what seemed like every play and there were numerous times where you thought Parsons was getting the sack! It seemed likely at this point that either Barkley gets a few more runs to put him over the 100 yard mark and get the 5 point bonus or Parsons gets a sack. Either of those scenarios gets U Don’t Know the win. It never happened however as both players went cold in that last quarter and a half and Bossman walked away with their second win of the season and sent U Don’t Know to their first loss! What a great game this turned out to be!
DaUnderdog (136.83) vs HHH (118.76)
DaUnderdog just keeps on doing what they have done ever since the playoffs started last year and that is win games. They have now won 6 straight games counting the playoffs from last season. It seems as though this championship run from last season really has them coming into this year with a different mindset. It seemed that in past years you wouldn’t see them winning games like this as they would have maybe scored 110 and lost by 8. They would always be close but never seemed to come out on the right side of things. This year is different and yet again this week they came away with a solid win! Josh Allen once again led the way with 31 points and they got great production out of the WR group (51.95 points). They are sure looking the part as one of the top teams in the league! For HHH, they fall to 0-3 on the season and it has been tough sledding so far. The good news for them is that they have been able to improve their point total each week and have scored over 100 points in the past two weeks so if they can continue that we should see them getting into the win column very soon!
Rapids Plungers (113.84) vs PackerFANatic7 (80.65)
I talked about this a bit in the preview for this game saying that the trends of these two teams (poor game followed by a good game) would point to Rapids Plungers (2-1) winning by 50. While Rapids Plungers didn’t win by 50 the pattern of poor game / good game continued on both sides. Rapids Plungers got another great game from J. Hurts (31.13) and solid games from C. Lamb (18.35) and T. Kelce (15.57) which was enough to get them the W this week. For PackerFANatic7 (1-2) they saw the real C. Wentz show up as you knew the consecutive 30 point games couldn’t continue and as a team they really struggled to find points anywhere as their leading man from a point perspective was G. Dortch with 13. The good news for PackerFANatic7 is that their “good” week is next week and that means bad news for Bossman their week 4 opponent!
That’s it for this week everyone. Have a great week!
